One week from being declared drought, we get the rain we need. Amazing what two days of rain does.

The grass is greener on the other side.

Our area was like that until just this past weekend. This summer has been a right cunt.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Why yes, that is exactly how grass works....

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

See, this is why people should look to climate appropriate gardening.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If this is in qld I'd like the rain to fuck off now my clothes still wet

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Australia?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

On the flip side, shows you how much water is truly needed to maintain grass, and naturescaping may be a better way to go.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Crazy how nature do dat

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Are you trying to tell me that water makes plants grow? Preposterous.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

No. No it didn't.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Australia? Australia

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, Australia

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is it bad I can tell by the Tarmac and the Brick letter box :P Queensland or Wa?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Two days? Bullshit. I live in Texas, I know drought. Grass doesn't green up like that in two days

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I must disagree. I knew a grass once. Was brown. Then it got wet. Turned green.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Maui?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's not a drought....

Raising property values in one easy step.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

IMO, homes in SoCal should NOT have real grass. Rock and/or synthetic turf it all up.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yoooo asshole up front wasn't following the water ban.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

Nature is stronger than the hypothesis of global warming

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

very true though

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Sure it is. Strong enough to kill mankind in the process of fixing itself from our massive influence on the environment.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

As an Idaho, I thought grass was brown.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why are we wasting water on grass? Should be vegetable gardens and fruit trees.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Technically thats not up to HOA code so you'd be fined for doing that. iirc it happened to a lady who was growing vegetables for homeless >>

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

>> in her front yard. City said it needed to be destroyed, even though everyone loved the idea

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I wanna say Australia somewhere. north queensland?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Bundaberg mate :)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

ahh bundy:). townsville here.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What species is that?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This made me laugh ????. But seriously, look up rain in Brisbane/Bundaberg the last week. You will see

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm not doubting the amount of rain, I'm doubting your biochemical claim that grass can change 40 shades of green in 2 days without paint.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There is a filter on the second photo ????

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Then it is still choc full of liiiieees. It's like the wonder bra, or spanks. It's sorta true, but in reality, it's false advertising.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nah, the filter doesn't change that much man. But whatevs have a cry if ya please

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Y do you have grass one the road

9 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 2

I didn't even notice that at first how interesting, must be poorly maintained is all I can think of

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Because Straya

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Hahaha, wtf?!

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It's from the old days where the road was extra wife for horse and wagon. When paved they just did want they had to do in the middle.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Because when i get by a car, i have a softer landing

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, I'd like to know, too.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

On streets like this Thor road doesn't go all the way to the gutter. So the rest is just dirt. Eventually it becomes grass

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

And here I thought you just needed to edge your sidewalk ;)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

iits not poor maintenance. The part where cars drive on is paved, no point or need to cover the rest.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But that would cost more to do then to just have it all

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

nup. the road surface is maintained, the grass/dirt(thats what it normally is it in the dry) gets left alone.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Except for that one db who's been watering his lawn in a drought.

9 years ago | Likes 235 Dislikes 12

A lot of homes have water tanks in oz

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Drought is caused by lack of rain etc over an extender period of time. So you can have the conditions that cause a drought for 7 days 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

2/2 without it beeing declared a drought. His local authorities were probably saying one more week of theese conditions and its a drought!

No water restrictions were in effect. No db's here...

9 years ago | Likes 107 Dislikes 21

So you're (almost) in a drought and there are no water restrictions? So weird. I can't remember the last time i didn't1/2

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

have water restrictions here in western australia

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

I have a well. If I use more water than is available, I don't have water. it's $300/day for a water truck. Don't need a restriction.

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 5

or... some would say that's a built-in restriction.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I'm starting to think you're the db

9 years ago | Likes 136 Dislikes 12

Probably just takes care of his lawn.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 11

The first pic was taken from the healthiest looking lawn, sooooo....

9 years ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 5

I'm starting to think vegans dont care about animals, they just really hate plants...

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Or did they just spray paint it? https://www.google.com/amp/amp.usatoday.com/story/27632853/

9 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 0

Haha, don't do that here in Australia mate ;)

9 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 1

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Im in California and my next door neighbor spray painted his. A few weeks before we got the torrential downpour. Irony is a cruel mistress

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Funny. Sad for your neighbor, but still funny.
