Sigh. Christians are defined by believing that Jesus died and was resurrected, and it had something to do with sins. That's it. It has nothing to do with morality, ethics, or whether a person is a good person or not. Can we PLEASE stop conflating Christian with good person? A person can be good without being Christian, and Christians can be bad. That's because Christians are people, and are good or bad independent of their religion.
"By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another." According to the the standard set by the guy in charge, there are lots of atheists who are great Christians, and a lotta Christians that don't appear to be disciples of Christ.
We have reached the point, with regard to the comments, where the word Christian is no longer understood in its original meaning. It can also be expressed quite simply and understandably: peaceful, respectful coexistence. Quite simple. No quotation marks, quite banal, without ulterior motives or even perverse, hidden agendas.
Remember that the parable of the Good Samaritan was about how someone with the "wrong" religion was a better neighbor to their fellow man than the supposedly pious, and thus more likely to get into heaven.
Leftists always insist on "Christian" being whatever makes Christians into feckless pushovers who can be steamrolled into oblivion. Simultaneously, they will talk about how "oppressive" Christians were at the height of their power in the West, such as the Crusader Christian or the printing-press Christian. Their only consistent principle is that you cannot be the type of person who can push back against their current slave revolt in morality.
Wearing that out in public will introduce you to all the local "Christians" and get you lots of charitable and loving comments. Wear body armor under it.
I was thinking of putting this saying on my LinkedIn page ( I don't have any other social media besides LinkedIn and imgur) but I'm Portuguese I live in the Netherlands and it doesn't make sense posting it ( at this moment my page is an anti trump and Gaza platform... I'm just waiting to get blocked and kicked out from there )... I know that for many, the hate I feel for him and all the government doesn't make any sense... sometimes it doesn't make sense to me either...
While it's risky, chances are high that an "American Christian" with a gun will find another "American Christian" to shoot first. You just have to worry about the Police shooting you while "restoring order"...
50 years ago, pre-Reagan fucking everything up it did. Nowadays….christian is code for racist, bigoted, misogynistic, pedo-loving, cucked by Trump, white nationalists.
Following Christ’s teachings and example from the Gospels is the traditional definition but yeah most political Christians these days mean “white nationalist”.
Religion, & its 6400+ iterations in the last 10-12 millennia, is NOTHING, but a multi-author Fantasy Fiction Anthology. "Chosen people," or "Our holy land," fuckin ALL of it, is str8 Sociopathic delusion. It's literally the same thing as believing the Cheshire Cat is real or tells you shit; JUST LIKE the serial killer "Son of Sam," Berkowitz, who said his dog told him to do it. ALL "Religion," is just like contemporary, "Scientology," which is literally based on the Sci-Fi novel, Dianetics. -_-
L. Ron Hubbard once said that the best way to make money was to create a religion.
And then a few years later he invented Scientology. That organization is now worth at least two BILLION dollars. I'm guessing it's probably 10x that, but they hide it in offshore accounts.
We need to make up a new religion for these people, since "Christian" no longer fits. Is there something out there already? I want to say Fascism, but that's not a religion.
I'd say fanatics? No matter the religion, as soon as the fanatics come into power they destroy living for the normal people. See Iran, Israel, the US...
Fascism is usually religious, though. It's an unholy combination of oligarchic capitalism, authoritarianism, and religious (often Christian) nationalism, combined with racism and sexism. So while technically fascism doesn't have to be religious, in practice, it almost always is.

If you're a good one of either kind, no one can tell which.

Way too much of the Christian religion has parted ways with the Christian faith.

“Christian” usually doesn’t mean Christ like.

Which is a shame. It used to mean you were trying your best to be like Christ. To live life like him, to treat others as he did. Now? Ugh. Nazis.
Nanntuckett
“Christian” today just means going to church once a week and ignoring everything Jesus said to do

It is not possible to be a true Christian and a Trump voter at the same time.
KrampusCopia
Yet all the "true Christians" said nothing against Trump during any of his campaigns. Look at the polls. 79% of Trump voters identify as Christian.

As a Christian (who left the catholic church): He's right. When empathy is sin, you're far gone from being Christian.
