I too have found the right meds, dose not help if husband will not even admit he has a problem!

I was honest with my feelings and people stopped talking to me and I felt worse. Time to go back to being quiet.

It's so good when you realise that it's either 10 minutes of heavy crying or years of trying to hold it all in.

Finding a good therapist that was the right fit for me helped with this. Proud of you for working on your mental health. ?

I had a great therapist but I lost my insurance when I got fired and couldn't go to them anymore :/

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Shen comix? What happened to owl turd? Is this like when you change your middle school email to your actual name lol

Can I get the blank template?

Being honest, self aware, and finding healthy coping mechanisms. Like, going to school, or crocheting. Also, seeing a therapist.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

.....that “also” (?) is what makes the others actually possible, for those with a serious, true problem (mired with no strength or way out).

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've been struggling with clinical depression for a good chunk of my life. By the time I met with a therapist, I had already setup (1)

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

(2) the other stuff to force myself to keep going. Though the pandemic made scared me away from seeing my therapist for the last year or so

Reminds me of this one chapter of an isekai novel I'm reading where several gods meet the fates to talk about the MC. Seems the MC has a

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

talent that he let rot but turned to effort to cultivate a new talent. Getting said new talent was like breaking an invulnerable wall. MC

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

managed to break said wall with only effort while living on the Origin Earth where even the power of the gods has little influence.

It was cropped enough I couldn't tell

May I recommend you look into how to use Google reverse image search. It will help you find the original uncropped version.

Tineye.com also works wonder

not literally, half of it is out the picture. unless you mean the new meaning of literally which means not literally.

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

No i meant literally (and also, using literally as hyperbole isnt new)

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

i literally-hate how literally literally-doesn't mean literally anymore... stupid literal-kids being nonliterally-literal.

The by far best thing you can do against anxiety (had a generalized panic disorder myself) is get your shit together. Like, pragmatic stuff

5 years ago | Likes 430 Dislikes 2

Been working for me. Therapy, journaling, all good stuff. But doing household chores and going for a jog every other day? *chef's kiss*

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also quitting booze, coffee and sugar in your diet helps a TON

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Had something similar for several years. Took a lot of work to dig out causes. Had a lot to do with my inability just to self regulate.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Got perspective about how powerful acceptance over things I have no control of gave me the ability to focus on things I did have control.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So real. When i can get my kitchen clean and laundry done I know I'm winning.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Something they taught me when I started getting treated for severe anxiety is that it doesn't go away. You have to practice...

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

facing those thoughts directly and dismantle them like in this image. So you go "Ok, this is freaking me out? Why? How do I do it anyway?"

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And it takes practice, but honestly, that was the best advice I've ever gotten You can't wait not to be anxious, you DESTROY ANXIETY lol.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's where the depression comes in.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you truly can’t even do dishes or vacuum, then you need meds until you’ve stabilized, but that is very very rare

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You're absolutely right but sometimes getting your shit together also means understanding your limitations rather than living in some 1/

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

2/ fantasy that your mental health problems don't exist. (panic disorders are common in people with other mental health issues like myself)

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Agreed, that’s why I’m saying start with the smallest thing you can find, and if that’s limited to taking out the trash right now so be it

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

3/ So for example if you have ADHD or Autism there's some pragmatic things you can't do unassisted. Like someone with a missing leg you're

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

4/ going to need that prosthetic if you want to go for a proper run. That doesn't mean give up, but get yourself that support you need.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

5/ For instance I have certain issues keeping track of tasks so if I can do the task immediately upon being asked or realizing it's an issue

Therapy helps and all, but anxiety will only permanently go down if life is less threatening and that only happens with serotonin, and that

5 years ago | Likes 126 Dislikes 2

I like to visualise my anxiety as a cube. I examine every surface, every side. Explore every 'what if'. I've found the more I expose -

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

- the less scary it is. I can usually break it down into manageable tasks that don't seem that terrifying. It's when try to push away the -

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

- feelings, hide from them, that it becomes overwhelming and difficult to pinpoint where exactly the anxiety is coming from. If I feel -

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

- myself spiralling, I know it's time to pull out the cube.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Only happens if you get your act together.

5 years ago | Likes 94 Dislikes 0

You have no idea how badly I needed to “hear” this. Thank you.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Show me! Please, at work everybody tells me I'm a control freak because I tried think ahead so I can keep my anxiety on line

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So clean your room

90% of my adulthood/dealing with my depression & anxiety has become - "I know I don't want to do the thing, but it's what I need to do"

5 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

That’s life bro. But if you do those things, EVERYTHING gets better. Like, I can’t believe how much better my life is today than 5 years ago

5 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

You mean like cleaning, doing paperwork and such? Or something deeper?

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

It means both. Dealing with your day to day items is where you start, but you have to expand to big stuff like career and relationships too

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The great thing about trivial tasks is that they are so doable, even if you feel like shit. Deeper changes come with time and more strength,

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

But if all you can do right now is do the dishes, then that’s a million times better than doing nothing at all. Then maybe you can do dishes

Everyone is different in that regard. I discovered that I need a level of routine to get things going. Every day I write in my bullet 1/

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2/ journal I write down 3 things that I consider routine. Yoga, meditation, journaling. That list is like, the back bone of my day. Then I

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

8/ on my shadow. I can do this, because I have something to fall back on. I know where my problems arent. So it is easier to find where they

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

7/ is easy to add stuff. I recently added 'cleaning desk' so my desk is tidy. Sometimes I need to pay more attention to my brain and work

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

9/ are, presuming you build your routine, any routine, and stick to it.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

6/ The great thing about writing down routines, is that they are easy and something that you are used to doing. Once you have a routine, it

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

5/ bigger stuff like applying for jobs, working on personal projects or engage with friends. I can also decide when I want to do stuff.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

4/ This to do list exists, again, out of routines. Drinking coffee, making a day planning and updating my journal. Only then I can start

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

3/ move on to stuff like decorating my journal, reading and making a planning. The third step I go through, is actually making a to do list.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Actually dealing with your problems is absolutely a kindness to yourself, and can snowball. You're spot on

5 years ago | Likes 56 Dislikes 0

It helps to really try and cultivate your empathy too, i think. Feeling connected to others is a great antidote to anxiety

5 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

It helps thinking about yourself as someone you are responsible for taking care of. 10/10 times you’d have a million good things in mind

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Nah, there's other ways. IME need serotonin to keep habits that make serotonin. Once I started SSRIs I was able to develop healthy habits.

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Yeah dude, there isn't really a universal right or wrong, just what works for you. Glad you found help

Thank you :)

I have job, home, food, eating healthier, train 2x a week. Ride my bicycle more. Do hobbies. But its getting worse. Any tips?

5 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

I had everything going well for me too. I genuinely just needed the right meds

DBT skills are helpful at for anxiety that cannot be better explained by structural/environmental causes. Find a DBT skills group near you

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I’m the same. Not sure this will help but sending you my love. Hope we both get better soon.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It helps. We can do this! Maybe not today but one day!

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Cognitive behavioral therapy. You learn about the big triangle: feelings->thoughts->behaviors->feelings etc. Fixing one helps fix others

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So “getting your act together” fixes behaviors, talk therapy helps with thoughts, and medication or meditation can help with feelings.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

However fixing one helps the others along as well. Training myself not to think “I suck” helps me get things done which makes me feel good

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Do you like your job? Do you have a partner you can trust? Do you have friends you can rely on? Do you eat healthy food? Do you sleep well?

5 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

These are awesome tips, I just hate how mental and physical health is treated in the U.S, life here can be exhausting, everything costs.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I do need to say I am lucky with where I live. Before I was 18 it was free and now I pay around 385 a year for therapy.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

But meds aren't given that fast.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

There can be a million things you can try too, maybe you are too smart for your job and need to educate yourself to do something harder, or

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

You need to set an outrageous goal to chase, or maybe you are creative and not manifesting it...look deep inside, I’m sure you will find out

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

And again, if all of that doesn’t help, go try meds. It’s unlikely, but maybe your chemistry is just fucked up

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

If you are reasonably well put together and you still have depression or anxiety, try meds. It can be a miracle

5 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Thanks for awnsering btw

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Its a job. No partner (completely happy with that). It may be some pain i have in my body and the fact i am in between switching therapy atm

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Do u drink a lot of coffee/caffeine, smoke, or drink? My anxiety went down a lot when I cut out smoking and only drank either occasionally

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Switching therapy is a huge deal, give yourself a break until you are settled with the new one.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Mine is really helped by being at peace with my decisions. I have anxiety-triggered depression, so I procrastinate a lot and its a vicious 1

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Cycle. I've learned that if I take the decision to nap, or Internet, or eat, I am ok with it and can move on to deciding to be productive 2

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Much more easily. It essentially gives me control on what I do. Am I staying in bed because I've *decided* to? No? What do I *want* to do?

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm not sure if that makes sense, but DM me if you need to.
