EDIT: Wednesday Frontpage! Thank you, my dudes! I do some reviews as a hobby, this week I checked "Cocoon", the game not the movie. You can watch it here: https://youtu.be/zGih08pwVXA

Were getting a puppet episode of Star Trek at least.

Miss Piggy would be all over The Dr.

Didn't the Buffy spin off Angle, do this?

2 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sontarans almost qualify as muppets themselves.

It's already canon that Gonzo is extraterrestrial; him having innate skill with a TARDIS is not a big stretch.

Which would work better. The Doctor as a Muppet or not.
Im thinking either yes, or everyone but The Doctor is a muppet.
Now which Doctor... im thinking Capaldi.

Why not just make one of the puppets BE the Doctor, meeting the current incarnation, and then everyone's wondering when and how they're going to reincarnate into THAT.

Gonzo can hear what the TARDIS is saying. He calls her Blue Lady and would be flirting if he didn't have a thing going on back home with one hell of a chicken.

I am on record as insisting that every movie ever needs to have as a bonus feature a 20-minute-long Muppet version of that movie.

Already done as a short bit on stage, https://youtu.be/OSRAoSCO2O0

The Doctor referenced Arthur Dent from HHGG whose movie had a scene where the improbability drive turned them into yarn. It could happen.

I don't think any Doctor Who fan would even blink at this ;0

Doctor Who fans are told not to blink

I do have to say that "idiot / clumsy / silly character does something unexpected that no one else can do and then refuses to elaborate" is one my favorite comedy bits. Of course, it has to be used sparingly, but with proper timing, especially right at the climax of the piece where the idiot proves their worth and saves the whole . I love it.

Someone else to Gonzo: "How are you able to fly this thing?!"

Gonzo: *running around the console back and forth, yanking levers and twisting knobs, huffing and puffing* "Well it's *yank* not *shunk* that complicated *bong bing boof* once you turn the parking brakes off! *big lever down with a clunk, loud WHIRRRRRR* GERONIMOOOOOOOO!!!"

Eleven: "That's my line!"
Gonzo: "It was mine, first!"

It should crossover as if the Muppets are just aliens, things that exist, and the Doctor already knows about them.

You need thr "pigs in space" crew there too

There is a Dr Who/Muppets cross over: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OSRAoSCO2O0

FWIW, David Tennant, in character AS the Doctor, did show up at the Muppets at O2, for a Pigs In Space appearance.

Wouldn't even be the strangest thing Doctor Who has done.

I think more shows should do this with the Muppets. NCIS: NYC The Pitt. Orange is the New Black (Is that still on? I don't know, I don't watch tv. I would watch that) On that, a muppet would be a lawyer, Miss Piggy, for example.

Muppet Fargo, Muppet The Expanse, Muppet Game of Thrones. The possibilities are endless!

Have you watched Legends of Tomorrow? It's a group of time travelers trying to save the world / protect history. There's an episode where they fight a possessed puppet, and another where they themselves get turned into puppets.

There's an episode where they go to the LOTR set in New Zealand in 2002 to get John Noble to record some lines to impersonate the daemon that is being voiced by John Noble.

Would watch the hell out of this... but every few minutes the doctor has a quizzical concerned expression when looking at the muppets like something is odd but he cant figure it out.

The Doctor actually knows what species Gonzo is and calls him another "last of his kind".

The term is endling.

I know, I read the book.

Gonzo and the Doctor having a relatively somber conversation about the fact that they both know what it's like to have found your people, but to choose not to join them again, in part because of the new companions found since then (Muppets in Space etc).

2 days ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 0

yeah but, thats not the cannon with "Muppets from space" movie, there's a whole Planet and spacefairing population of gonzos

The very last scene in the movie/special/whatever shows Statler and Waldorf watching the show and commenting on how none of what they watched makes the slightest bit of sense.

I feel like there should be one person who acknowledges that there are muppets. Like, there could be a group of people who are running away from some dangerous event, and one of them notices Gonzo talking to the Doctor down an alley. They run past it at first, but then the camera changes to the opening of the alley and the person comes back into view and confusedly asks "is that a Muppet?" and then they get pulled back to running away by someone they were with.

That person should show up a few times that episode in similar events where nobody else has noticed the Muppets and they keep trying to show people to no avail. Eventually, they end up meeting the Doctor and the Muppets and become the next companion.

2 days ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

That person would be the companion. They would ask several times what is up, and the Dr, in his typical manner, would pretend its perfectly normal

I'd watch this without hesitation. It's just absurd enough. And, most critically to me: Doesn't have to involve modern-day London.

Humbug

2 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I read a Doctor Who / Sesame Street crossover once that worked really well.

1 day ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

But not as absurd as some other Dr who episodes, to be fair.

2 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They did this on that buffy spin off.

2 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Angel. Was a decent episode.

1 day ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

oscar the grouches trash can and the tardis are linked in some timey wimey way :-P

2 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

At one point the Doctor has to use his "rarely ever used or acknowledged emergency escape door" and then we see him crawling out of a garbage can while Oscar yells at them.

2 days ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I've watched a lot of Doctor who, and I'd watch that too

2 days ago | Likes 144 Dislikes 0

I haven't watch a lot of Doctor Who, but I should and I would totally watch this

1 day ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was there for the slab episode and the farting babies, by comparison this idea is beyond radical.

1 day ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

farting babies was bad but spiders on the moon was just awful

1 day ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Oh yeah, I forgot the moon abortion. I vaguely remember the Rosa Parks episode as well.
