I remember when MP3 came to the scene. It was amazingly small compared to wav files

The very short life of excellent internet radio was a great time for music.

Go Winamp, or go home!

I'm 40. No need to dress it up with nostalgia

The first OS I learned was MS DOS. But I was very young, like pre-kindergarten.

I had a stack like that in my late teens! Loved it. Mostly Marantz rather then Telefunken, though.

This is what I use to describe to my husband what migriane auras look like

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yours are more colourful than mine. I get like a helical chain of twisted black, white, and yellow strobing triangles. And a blindspot. Sux.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ooh, blind spots are awful. I also get tunnel vision

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What is this exactly?

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Windows Media Player used to have this thing where it would display these trippy patterns or graphics on music files. It's hard to describe.

You can still find WMP on the MS site somewhere and kick that awful Groove Music thing to the curb.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Real talk: *is* there a way to make the current WMP do this? I kinda miss these, oddly enough.

Ctrl + 1, 2, or 3 to switch views. You want 3 for the visualizations

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Me too. Dot.

Badrobot. Hero of men.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As far as I remember, they're still in there. At least they're still present in my copy of Windows 10.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Make sure WMP is enabled and open it instead of the Music app. then right-click in the middle of the window and hover over Visualizations

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Pfff, that doesn't at all whip the llama's ass...

STill a standard install when I wipe my PC :P

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I actually upgraded from windows media player to winamp. I listen on 1% volume and WMP randomly went 100%. I changed after, best decision.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is the way.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This… who the hell used windows media player?!

4 years ago | Likes 76 Dislikes 3

I didn't know WInamp existed while it was relevant. I liked how WMP would get the album art and proper titles automatically

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah, before winamp could do that i used wmp to rip cds and write the tags but winamp as my player.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

People who were busy downloading Netscape and waiting for it to install so they could go get Winamp on a properly rendered page?

4 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

I used both depending on what media file my brother shared on my comp. Winamp was definitely better.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Ok fine… I suppose this is acceptable.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Oh. Winamp. How do I long for thee? Let me count the ways. But srsly why isn't there an app for Winamp visualizations?

4 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

You can still use it! I occasionally run a line-out from my turntables into winamp and put the visualizations on a video projector!

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Spending half a day looking at skins to match your new wallpaper, then changing your mouse, window colors etc to make it all match. Miss it.

Are you on Android by chance?

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

He is, based on the tag right beside the time of his post, which is not shown on Android, but is shown to desktop users. Thanks for the app.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Sweet.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes, with the Milk Drop visualizations plugin!

4 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

Milkdrop still slaps llama ass to this day. You can turn the resolution right up and it looks amazing.
