What a funky chicken

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

cute but deadly little fellow

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

This is not a king cobra. If I had guess, I would say it's probably a monocled cobra. Kings have a different pattern and face shape.

Sub-Comment further up has info, some kind of spitting cobra without scrolling back up. Also has sauce.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That little dude could fuck you right up

Sauce, boss: https://www.instagram.com/p/B0NnKpID0Bi/?utm_medium=copy_link her insta is great

4 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

She does a lot of work with venomous species and she's way more comfortable handling them than I will ever be

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Also, @op, per her description, this is an indochinese spitting cobra, Naja siamensis, not a king cobra. Her insta is @lika_pxl to give cred

4 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

if you bite it and you die, it's poisonous. if it bites you and you die, it's venomous. if it bites you and it dies, you're poisonous

4 years ago | Likes 148 Dislikes 2

TIL I'm poisonous to 30% of mosquitoes!

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If you bite each other and you like it, it's kinky.

4 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 0

What if the person is just toxic?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

*bites off snake head* I am so fucking venomous.

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

If you bite it and you don't die, it might be food

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If it bites itself and you die, that's voodoo

4 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

But what if i bite it and the guy next to me dies?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh for god's sake, everybody knows what it bloody means

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 25

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You have massively overestimated what everyone knows. ?

4 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

If it bites itself and dies, we won't know which one it is.

if I'm ever in a situation where I'm interviewing someone for a job, this will be the first question I ask the candidate

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

If it bites itself and you die thats voodoo

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's a Prince Cobra before it evolves to a King Cobra later on. #randomtrueanimalfacts

You're my new favorite internet stranger

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So is a Queen cobra a female or gay?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's FABULOUS

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A Queen Cobra is an adult cobra in captivity... It wants to break free

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That seems unsafe.

4 years ago | Likes 57 Dislikes 0

It is incredibly unsafe. Cobras hatch with a full load of venom, but no ability to limit how much a strike delivers. Full dose every time.

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

Even if that cobra went full blast and dried itself out, how would it reach a fraction of an adult? Even google agrees

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Evidently that's a misconception. Baby snakes are not deadlier due to lack of venom control. Adult snakes produce and use more than babies

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Bullshit.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

We can just compromise and say whether it's a baby or an adult you're pretty much up shit creek with no paddle.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah sure, but I'd pick the baby every damn time for sure. Being alive has become important over the years.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Venomous from the git-go.

4 years ago | Likes 573 Dislikes 1

and just as deadly as an adult because the venom, while much less in quantity, is more potent.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

Yes but for the first few hours they don't know how to bite.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Fuckin' loaded and ready to kill

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think their fangs are too delicate to pierce human skin, and if they break them, not sure if they grow back.

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

thanks. saved me the trouble of looking it up

4 years ago | Likes 63 Dislikes 0

Random people claiming things online doesn't save you from the trouble of looking things up. Just saying ;-)

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Upvoting the naked arm.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Some snakes even more so I believe, like rattlers

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Usually worse when they’re young because they don’t have as much control of their venom output.

4 years ago | Likes 123 Dislikes 41

Stop spreading lies.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's an old myth. Adults can inject MANY times more the volume of venom. Just think about it. How is tiny baby injecting more than adult?

4 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

I don't think anyone thinks it puts out more volume than adults, just that it would be more potent. Still unfounded either way

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

"I swear this never happens!"

4 years ago | Likes 77 Dislikes 0

Ha youre right tho. It never happens because that claim is unfounded

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

A 'reptile dysfunction'?

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Okay, that got me lol

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

...I really wish this myth would die. It's not true, never has been. Where did this idea ever come from??

4 years ago | Likes 53 Dislikes 1

I always thought this just applied to scorpions. Where i grew up thats what parents told their kids.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Riddick started it.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It was from a research about a different type of snake where snake bites from adolescent ones resulted in near 100% death rate and adult >

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ones in about 10% , so that's the only assumption they could come up with. It's a proven fact, they just had no other explanation

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Might be from rattlesnake. Same poison as adults but no warning rattle

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It came from parents making up bullshit to prevent their stupid kids from playing with the cute baby versions of venomous things.

4 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Like, 1 google search and you find a thousand articles saying it's not true, and 0 saying it is.

4 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

I wanna know who-all is out there handing over a leg or something to be bit by a bunch of baby cobras and a bunch of adult ones.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Baby snakes are more dangerous bc they can't control the amount of venom yet. Each bite has way more than an adult's :/

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 16

They have the same amount as a adult but adults have control to limit amount or not at all if its a warning bite baby's can't do this

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Do have a scientific source for this? I'm genuinely curious.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't I just remeber Steve irwin saying it once

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Source? This is an urban legend.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Did you know that daddy long legs are the most venomous in the world? Their fangs are just too short to pierce human skin!

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Trust me, a friend from school told me. He's wicked smart. Also, I've got some fun facts about Marilyn Manson that are totally true!

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I loved him in Mr. Belvedere
