I got a new friend, Can Chub get some love?

Since I can't fucking make any friends IRL and need me a lovelife. This is my new friend and lovelife. Dis is Chub a baby Leachieanus Gecko. 7 grams of finger hugging adorableness. It would be cheaper for me to have a fucking hard drug addiction at this point guys.

So chub is a baby Leachieanus Gecko, a mixed island local, I have messaged the breeder for the exact genetics. We have no idea yet if Chub is a boy or a girl! It'll be awhile before the pores start developing and showing for us to tell. If it's a boy though, It's painfully obvious. Geckos have HUGE nuts.

Yes the baby is currently on a fake plant enclosure. As a baby there is lots of poop that needs regular cleaning, as well as the little one is in quarantine, minimal enclosure settings make it easier to keep an eye in case something pops up health wise, as a lavish enclosure would be an easy hide away for the nasties I am watching for. To point to the small enclosure as well, large enclosures make these guys scared as small ones, and in about 2-3 months he/she will be upgraded to a nice fancy enclosure with all the fancy set up fixings. Yes they get big! Yes they can be jerks! You have to work with them to keep them docile. Yes I am prepared for the squeaks of absolute cuteness and the "broken wind up toy" territorial noises.

I am from Canada, These little fellas will you run you anywhere from 500-3000 depending on the purity of the genetics, and the breeder. Pre-ordering an animal also does sometimes reduce the cost. If your home does have proper heating, (85F - 65F but don't go over or under these temps) these guys do not need heating sources. They also do not need UVB lighting of any sort, But obviously you can add it if you want. These are hefty little lizards which makes finding the proper live plants a challenge as they'll just break or crush the plant but it is possible.

Yes! They live a long time! Average of 15-20 YEARS with proper care! They're not a hamster you get for a year or two and then they die, No reptile is, ball pythons alone CAN live upto 50 YEARS!

These fellows have prehensile tails to help them hold onto things, having a chubby tail would cause problems for them trying to hold on! Leopard geckos have chubby tails as they use that chub to store for a drought of food, and use the energy in those fat little tails to help them through the rough times.
