I haven’t found any sources saying she had a blind trust or any other plausible explanation why the DOJ and senate abruptly dropped all investigations into her impossibly timed trades.

What did anyone expect, when senators get to investigate senators instead of an impartial body?

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

I can name one. Literally anyone who reads imgur saw this crash coming. The idea that it is "insider" is laughable.

It was dropped because the system is corrupt RE: Just a few bad apples argument

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 4

Woof.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Gotta love when senators get to decide if senators are being ethical.

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Surprise surprise they decided everything they do is blessed by Christ himself

"Ethics committee"

5 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 3

the quotes should end at ethics, but fair enuf.

Ethics committee.... It's time to drink heavily... v

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Given that her husband is the chairman of the fucking NYSE you'd think the SEC would be up somebody's ass too.

5 years ago | Likes 52 Dislikes 1

THIS. This woman should not be allowed to serve in Congress for this *very* reason. If I were in the SEC I'd have a guy at their house 24/7.

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

When civilians do this we get thrown into jail, but its ok for scumbags like these to do it. Our country is as fucked up as the rest

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

possibly even *more* so, since the framers of the Constitution wanted so much better for us.

Guillotine

5 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 4

The statute of limitations has yo extend WELL past January 2021.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I'd say it;s hard to prove as you have to prove she did it due to inside info and not something else. All she has to say is "I watched the/

5 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 2

news and followed trader advice" and how can you prove otherwise? I think she stinks, but it's the burden of legal proof sadly.

5 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

Investigation being dropped and being concluded with her innocence confirmed are two different things, no?

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

What’s she referencing by saying “again”?

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Bill Barr at the DOJ also dropped his investigation. They *are* still investigating the one senator too dumb to conceal his crimes.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

clearly she's been pretend-investigated before.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

Aww, but I kind of feel bad for Melania. Sure, she has bad taste, but clearly SHE hates that man far more than any of us ever could.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Its cause Republicans like killing anything good. Pensions? Fuck that! Oversight? Not on their watch! Fix healthcare cause we pay the most?

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 6

Fuck no!

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Don't know why you got d/v unless it was some GOP jackass; you're spot-on. Anything moral or decent and the GOP wants nothing to do with it.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

"And nothing changed."

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'll give her inside her trading

5 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 8

I'm not sure what you mean

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

sex. he means sex. "inside her" was the clue.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There is a level of sh*tf*ck*ry that no amount of rolling eyes, being upset online, sharing posts will solve. Action is needed.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Is it possible for politicians not to be completely rotten, corrupt cunts?!

5 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 3

Yes. Al Franken was one. He was shuffled out by his party's boss without due process and he regrets it. He was a beacon.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes but it requires structural change we're unequipped to handle. Most countries needed to overthrow their leaders several times to progress

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yes, but typically only after they have been dead for a while. Like James Buchanan isn't currently being a cunt.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Because she, like Sen. Diane Fienstein, had a blind trust, she knows nothing about the trades. They were both exonerated.

5 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 8

Her trust's trades were pretty dubious, but yeah, it's hard to prove anything when she has a blind trust.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't recall anything said about a blind trust in her case. Fienstein, yes.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Oh dang, Loeffler specifically had a blind trust? Do you have a source? Thought it was just 2 of the others.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Who TF cares? Her husband or someone she knows could be the trustee. It's simply too coincidental.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Thank you. Such an obvious answer, yet all top responses are about how evil the process and people must be.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 5

Fuck her

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You sure you want to go inside a Trump supporter? Bold move.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I bet she could teach you a thing or two. She looks like she gets down

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Okay. That's punishment enough.

5 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Exonerated "again " says about all you need to know.

5 years ago | Likes 188 Dislikes 6

She was investigated by Senate and DOJ. Exonerated by both. Turns out it is legal for your investment manager to manage your investments

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Dangerous logic, see Hilary Clinton.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 14

Ig that’s what happens when you don’t fight the charges people will always use them as an example as someone worse

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

HURRR BUTTERY MALES

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Its almost like we need an entirely different investigative branch that exclusively investigates our government

5 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 2

I was thinking exactly the same thing. Don't know that the Constitution forbids this, but if not....?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

We could call them Inspector Generals, but I'm sure they can still be fired by the people they're investigating.

5 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

I see a slight problem with your plan. We couldn't call them generals because they arent in the army.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Her husband donated $1,000,000 to a pro-Trump SUPERPAC in the week following the allegation. That's why this was dropped.

5 years ago | Likes 1407 Dislikes 33

I'm not sure that certain Republicans are using the word "exonerated" right.

5 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Allegedly

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 18

Causation might be alleged, but the donation happened. https://www.politico.com/news/2020/05/20/kelly-loeffler-trump-super-pac-272626

republicans say republicans don't have to follow the law (yet again)

5 years ago | Likes 492 Dislikes 30

Ultimately it's politicians say politicians don't have to follow the law, it just shifts based on majority power

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

This would hold water if the ethics committee members were majority Republican, but they're not. This is politician protecting politician.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Handjobs for everyone, apparently.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 4

That is kind of the theme for the last four years..

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

...i'm just spitballin here, but is the DOJ a branch of the republican party? op's text there says they're the ones droppin investigations

5 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 9

Your logic has no place here!

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 11

Under Bill Barr? Yes, yes it is.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Executive branch. There have been a whole bunch of investigations dropped with sketchy reasons lately

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Barr and his cronies have politicized it, so yes it is.

5 years ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 3

ah cronyism. fair point, actually. but then... why, after the '08 crash did we only arrest one banker? dunno if it's a one party thing

5 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 5

That goes back to the deregulation of the banking industry, which while Clinton opened the door, Bush smashed them to the ground

5 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

yeah, but, my boy rocky bombers was in the white house. didn't the D take both the senate and congress too? but your response here sounds-

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 10

They also dropped the charges against the democrat that was implicated.
