I am originally from Pakistan. These same drones were used for years to target civilians there and were known to kill people at funerals and weddings. When former PM Imran Khan protested, the west called him "Taliban Khan". That was imperialism. Fascism is imperialism coming back home. Another big difference is that they never targeted major cities like Karachi Lahore and Islamabad, Trump is going right after LA.

I used to travel a lot decades ago and would smirk at seeing military used for civilian policing. I got my comeuppance now courtesy of Trump and his lackeys.

This is a little misleading. By "military drone" they mean "drone of a similar type to what the military uses". The ones deployed over LA were DHS's SkyGuardian, not DOD's Reaper.
They're both variants of the MQ-9 but DHS's version lacks any weaponry and most of the more advanced intelligence gathering systems commonly fitted to the Reaper.
It's basically just a flying camera in this case, used in a similar manner to a police helicopter except higher up and with more loiter time.

Generally these fly up too high for civilians to mess with. I think even above that altitude of something like a Cessna so someone and their buddy could not even go up, fly up beside it and have said buddy shoot it with a shotgun.
