Pitbull bans don't make people safer and they punish sweet puppies like Avery

This is Avery

She's currently out in the backyard hunting rats lol

Pibbles CAN be sweethearts...to 'their' humans. But they've been bred to defend themselves to a different degree than other dogs.

Met some sweet ones, but the two next to my sister chewed through two fences to get at and nearly kill her german shepherd.

Downvoting all posts with tweets in them to encourage you to find a alternative website to use. Check out imgur someday.

I love her.

Should do more to increase shitty owner discrimination.

I know, in general they're super sweet puppers, but for every one pitbull attack, 1000 are stereotyped as dangerous. Such sweeties.

theres an imgur dude that rails on pitbulls for a few days and i see him in user sub once every few months, its nuts

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

I honestly don't think pits hold a candle to cane corsos though.

Sorry: I've had good friends including a mother walking with her child mauled by pit bulls. They should all be sterilized.

Jacqueline Durand, mauled on her first day of dog sitting lost her ears, nose, LIPS?! by pitbull https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7CQyM1ZXkYs

It shouldn't be a ban on pitbulls, it should be a ban on idiot owners trying to half ass take care of the breed.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

There is such a thing as "dangerous breed" but it starts and ends with "Chihuahua".

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 7

/s. Sorry. My Chihuahuas are arseholes, but they're not dangerous.

Like my cats! :-)

A big problem is every mutt gets called a pit. I saw a story "3 pits kill old man" with pics of the dogs and one was a goddamn labrador.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

I guarantee most people here wouldn't be able to tell a pit from a staffy from an American bulldog, let alone mutts with multiple breeds.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

A friend has a pit. Very sweet, good with kids. Then they visited our house. Pit instantly attacked my dog (who started out in play posture)

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Fortunately it was on leash and my friend and his wife pulled the dog back while I grabbed mine and shut the door. They're good people--

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

The pit is well trained. But I've never seen aggression in a dog like in that moment.

The usual comments bashing Chihuahuas because apparently it’s trendy to bash Chihuahuas when ever pibbles are brought up in 3…2…1…

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Oh, actually two had already been made before I commented. Man, I was typing slow.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

To be fair they are kind of loud, obnoxious jerks to everyone other than the 1 or 2 people they like.

Yeah, lol. I don't like them personally but only because people often let them roam free because they're so little

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

So really, the problem is still people.

pain when they are attacking. They latch on and won't let go until they are dead. It's their nature to kill. Pits need to be banned.-'

As a breed they are unpredictable, and that's the problem. Individuals are mostly fine, but people don't trust anything that's unpredictable

3 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 9

This is untrue. Pits are not any more unpredictable than any other breed.

Take it you've never met a Golden Retriever? Or a Jack Russell? Or a Border Collie? Or a Dachshund? Or a Black Lab? Believe what you wish

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I believe science. Funny how that stops happening here.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And what science is that? Cite sources or you are no better.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I can't cram it into 140char, but NO experts on dog breeds say pits are dangerous.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Every pitbull I've met has been a big, goofy sweetheart. Demonizing the animal doesn't address the actual problem.

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 6

Downvote all you want, the problem is poor breeding and training. The dog itself isn't the problem, GSDs and Dobermans were the old targets

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

"bad" pit I'm sure they exist just like any breed. Realistically owners need to be held accountable for the actions of their pets.

I can agree with this.
