Here are two images of the earth, both taken from screenshots from Destiny 1 (seen below). They compare geography of the planet and reveal that the Traveler, and in turn the Last City where the Tower is located, can be found somewhere near India.

Here is the first image taken from the surface of the moon.

Here is the second image taken during the loading screen when arriving at the Tower. We can see the Traveler represented as a bright white sphere, almost like the sun. Some people think that it's the sun being reflected in the ocean, but this isn't very likely. Judging by how Bungie renders the sun reflecting in the water as seen in space (see image below) I'm certain that the white sphere we see here isn't the sun but the Traveler.

Here is an image of the sun over earth as seen in orbit. We can clearly see the sun washing over the earth and being spread out and more diffuse. Where in the previous image we see a pinpoint of light.

Looking at the clothing of NPC's in the tower in both Destiny 1 and 2 we see a common theme. The head wrap seen here resembles a hijab, or a sheila, attire worn by middle eastern cultures. Leads me to believe that the citizens of the Last City have assimilated aspects of middle eastern culture (or that it was intrinsic due to geographic location).

Here is an NPC in Destiny 2 near Saladin wearing a similar head wrap. We can also note the urns (or vase) which appears to have middle eastern inspired designs engraved into them.

Here is another NPC in Destiny 1, the lighting is very dark, but we can still clearly see the head wrap.

Another head wrap NPC in Destiny 2

Here we see some architecture in Destiny 1 in the Tower North. This door we see behind during the first mission of Destiny 2 when the tower is attacked. Note the arch way above the door and the colored tiles that surround it. Also note the flags in the right corner hanging from rope. They appear again later in the Bazaar of Destiny 2's new Tower.

Here we see behind the door from the previous image in the opening mission of Destiny 2. Note the colored tiles. The diamond design and patterns. The arches. All vaguely reminiscent of middle eastern/asian designs and influences.

Here in Destiny 2's new tower we another arch way just before the New Monarchy area with some cyan colored tiles.

Here is another arch found just before the Bazaar with some floral design on them, and against that back wall we can see the same diamond pattern from earlier. All of these things culminate in what I consider to be solid evidence that the Last City exists in a place where middle eastern culture and design and architecture and apparel existed prominently enough to be integrated numerous times throughout the Tower, and the wall that surrounds the Last City. Pairing this info up with the diagram and screen shots from above about the Traveler's location I do believe the Last City to be found in India.

Considering how close it is to the cosmodrome in D1 and the proximity to mountains it's more likely somewhere in the Caucasus mountains 1/2

Which is pretty close to plenty of middle eastern influences according to some theories. Some point to Nepal, which is pretty reasonable
