People get angry when I admit this

I grew up on the books. Love them. I just didn't personally like the direction they went with a lot of things, and I don't think the main characters are as likeable as they should be. There, hate me all you want.

I think about them like this sometimes, but then I remember Percy Jackson and Divergent and realize HP is one of the more accurate movies

I don't care for either. But before I was exposed to them I'd already read the Belgariad.

Of course the main characters aren't likeable. They're Gryffindors!

Same. I also felt that way about LOTR and Dune

They were pretty terrible. The books weren't spectacular either, but at least better than the movies.

Harry Potter movies are only good for getting a rough version of what I saw in my head on-screen. Best watched while you're doing 1/2
