Marta and Frankie from School of Rock have got engaged in real life
Caitlin Hale, who played Marta – aka 'Blondie' – and Angelo Massagli, who played the role of Frankie – aka the 'tough guy' – first met on the set of the film when they were 11-years-old.
Now, 18 years after the film's release, the pair are engaged to be married after dating for a number of years.
In an Instagram post, Hale shares photos of Massagli and her – sporting an impressive engagement ring along with the caption "sneak peek".
"We have a group chat where all the School of Rock kids, we just hit each other up whenever someone moves somewhere new or is doing something different. So Caitlin is like, hey, I'm moving down to Florida."
Massagli lives in Florida so they met for lunch and romance blossomed.
Since starring in the movie, the couple have gone on to have successful careers away from the limelight.
Massagli is a lawyer and Hale is an ultrasound technologist and medical sonographer.
The wedding music should be rockin'

So sorry to hear they have to live in Florida. My condolences. At least being together might make the load a little lighter.

It's so good to hear about child actors who found real life careers. Then to find love from it? Bonus!
SunReign
Absolutely. I like the part where they aren't in rehab. Child acting is a lot of pressure for a kid

Did that kid end up in the Sopranos as Vito Spatafore's son?

Maybe I do have a soulmate out there! I just never got a role in a movie to meet them

That movie came out 21 years ago. Just watched it with my kids- we looked up their favorite characters. Zack the guitarist got busted for stealing guitars 5 years ago. The drummer was tragically killed by a car while riding his bike also about five years ago. The manager is iCarly. The real Ned Shneee… uh Mr. S. Is a successful writer and director ( he wrote school of rock and recently the white lotus series)

Kevin Clark was hit and died 3 years ago. Really sad, my cousin went to Highschool with him in Highland Park.

As an European, who never was there, I am wondering: Why would someone move to Florida?

It's only the people and politics of Florida that suck. It is a beautiful state
Greyeyes1973
As much hate as we get down here, Florida is, as a state, one of of the richest, more biodiverse environments in the country. Rolling, Kentucky like hills in the north, hundreds of lakes canals and rivers in central FL, the everglades and the keys in the south, within an hour and a half from a beach from anywhere in the state, costal sunrises and sunsets, and the oldest American history of any European settlement. 14,000 years of native history, and amazing weather. Usually.
Greyeyes1973
The reality is, Florida and the majority of its people are amazing. The politics, and the people that have supported it are what have given us such a bad name. The villages is a prime example of the cancer that has grown over the last 3 decades. My family is from that area, and it used to be beautiful cattle country. The family that built the villages wanted a certain toxic demographic of soon to be retirees that were going to be getting company pensions, and voted a certain way
Misora
Also if you can afford to move somewhere nice there, you can afford to get out when you need to for any issues political or natural. It may cost you some money and time and be unfun but you're not stuck there. Even moderately wealthy people will always have options. It's mostly going to suck for the people earning minimum wage which neither of them should be.
Greyeyes1973
Like the hurricane a few years ago that hit the keys. There was a trailer park that had been there for decades, where a lot of people who worked there in the service industry and other local jobs. It was the only affordable place for them to live and not commute. The land got sold to developers after.

This is sweet but don't go poking around into the current lives of the cast. You won't come out of it very happy.
garbuhj
Are you assuming, or is this based on specific info?

I watched School of Rock a couple years ago out of nostalgia. Decided to look up what the kids were doing. Got sad. You want to think every one of them went on to lead, at worst, fairly normal lives and, at best, sparkling futures. Three or four of them did not do well, including two kids who really make the film rule.
astrangehop
WTF THE BASSIST WAS BEN SHAPIRO?!

Source? I didn't see that on a quick googling

I made that up. Sorry.

What's the "/s"?
EternallyIgnorant
Anytime you see /s online it means that the comment that came before is sarcasm. Its generally expected that if you are saying something sarcastic youll use it, so if you dont often itll be assumed you are being serious. Of course using the /s can lessen the impact of a funny sarcastic remark etc, so sometimes its nice to not use it, but if you dont its best to consider if your comment will be taken seriously. We have a ex president saying ppl are eating cats and dogs in ohio....
