Weird that all the doctors graduated from U Penn

Do your guys dogs eat fruit??? My dog sniffs it, and then looks at me like I'm an idiot!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Lemons are sour.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Onions are bad too...including onion powder. If you give your dog table food be mindful of everything you added to it

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

What about pomegranate?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Avocados are no? Bah. My dogs eat avocados off our trees constantly. Never had a problem, and never eat the pits. Uses them as a toy.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What makes us so special that we can eat raisins just fine and dogs die?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh, weird, I have the same reaction to avocados.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thanks

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm guessing it's best to just stick to dog food.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Yeah but as long as you brush your teeth afterwards

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Depends on the brand.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

of course, but some food can make a good treat. For example fresh mango in small amounts makes my dog go crazy after summer walks

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Y'all never heard of the avocado eatin dog?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I don't know why I just read this... I don't even have a dog

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What about my couch? My dogs love to eat that

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I knew a dog that ate a whole ceramic pot

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Can cause intestinal blockage.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

of course she does

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Avocado is way more dangerous than that. Only humans and a few types of apes can eat them if I remember correctly.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Not true, dogs have trouble with the fats but only in large quantities. My dog always gets small pieces when I eat one.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Nice. If I could edit my comment I would! I'm still gonna err on the side of caution. Nice to not have to panic when my dog finds some!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Avocado is fine for dogs in moderation. High in fat, so you need to watch that, but that's true for any high-fat food. Otherwise, it's fine.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Feed my dog avocados all the time. He loves that shit. He is my garbage disposal.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What about coconut?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I like how raisins is on the list...like yea drying out the grapes will make them safe for them to eat lol not

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Lemons are bitter? M'kay.

8 years ago | Likes 88 Dislikes 3

Some fool doesn’t know the difference between sour and bitter

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

The rind is.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Thank you sir/ma'am. I scrolled through the comments specifically looking for this.

8 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 3

Sir. And I serve to please.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

TIL that lemons are bitter

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Why did I just read that? I don't have a dog.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Raisin/grape part is false. I did a paper on it. It's not kidney failure it's spine/nervous system failure

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

So it's true, just not for that reason.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You did poor research.

I love how all of these are only dangerous if they eat a fucking ton.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

Depends on the size/weight of the dog. If a puppy/small dog gets into grapes, chocolate etc., just a few ounces could potentially be lethal.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Not necessarily true. We've had dogs come in collapsed from a single grape, while others are fine after eating most the bag.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Maybe I think this way because I have only ever had hearty mixed breeds

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

If there's a fucking ton of it to eat, rhe dog will eat it

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Apparently pet owners of imgur suck at owning pets.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I feel like this post might be directed towards folks who have vegan dogs.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

I wish more of them would comment so I can hunt em down and kill them

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

What about the ones who have vegan cats?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Jesus

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

So you're saying you want to crucify them? Fine by me!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I think a lot of this is exaggerated. Where I grew up most peoples dogs lived off table scraps and somehow didn't drop dead.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I think it mostly stems from this pure breed mentality.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Aren’t dogs carnivores though?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Cherries are actually fine provided you pit them, no cyanide in the cherry, it's all in the pit, stems and leaves.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Yeah, no one normally eats the pit, doesn't mean the entire thing's toxic.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oooh shit, I eat the stems O_O

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You gonna die now.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Who doesn't like a fresh cherry leaves salad???

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Do not grape your dog

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Apply now and get a free grape whistle!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was going to make a Kevin Spacey joke but my understanding is the window expired yesterday. Figures.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

PSA: This list doesn't necessarily apply to cats. It shouldn't have to be said, but there are some people who think they can eat the same.

8 years ago | Likes 115 Dislikes 5

Wait, cats aren't girl pets and dogs are boy pets?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Second PSA: Those are Kiwifruit not Kiwi. Here's a Kiwi:

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Does it necessarily apply to hippopotamus and wilderbeast though? And what about flying squirrel? Please let us know

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Right, dogs shouldn't eat cats.

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

"Can your DOG safely eat these fruits?" title is a dead give away, you tard.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 32

Damn, he's just trying to be helpful, stop being such a slinky

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

How is pointing out the obvious helpful? There are two titles with the word dog in it. Not cat, dog.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Slinkitty :D

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Cats are carnivores so feed them meat!

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Mine loved raisins, though. I think she thought they were flies.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not disagreeing with you but that comment seems out of place since dogs are also carnivores. They've just adapted a bit better to non-meat.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Well cats won't eat fruit anyway generally. But is does not apply from pet to pet you're right

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

My cat loves apples and tries to steal them when I'm eating one.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Cantaloupe.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

One of my cats likes peaches and pears. I don't even offer them to him, he just steals them. Another one likes olives.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Talk to my cat. Goes crazy for watermelon.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've tme we were feeding my cat pieces of chicken and then we offered him a slice of mango. He ran up and bit into the mango before spitting

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

it out and shaking his head like he was totally disgusted. He had gotten so excited by the chicken he forgot to check what we were holding.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Cute story! Mine is picky, she smells everything cautiously

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Cats might still try to get a bite, pending on the cat's personality.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Wait, cats aren't dogs?

8 years ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 0

If you look closely, no.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What if they're a Catdog?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Cat: like a dog, but not.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Dogs are the boys and cats are the girls

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Not gonna lie when I was little this was my mindset..

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Weird how Grapes and Raisins produce the same results.

8 years ago | Likes 1925 Dislikes 6

Well it could possibly have been the case that dehydrated fruit was bad but the natural fruit is not. Also, some people are reeeeally thick.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What about craisins?!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What about Sultanines?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I mean I understand why they listed both, Im sure someone would be an idiot and think "grapes are bad, but raisins arnt grapes!"

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

This

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Some people are Legit THAT DUMB NOT TO MAKE THE CONNECTION. Not only do we let them have pets, they have Kids, too...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think your on to something. Gonna send some samples to the lab

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is one of the reasons grape ice cream isn't a thing

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Not true. A town in my area has hosted a grape festival for 100+ years and they serve grape ice cream

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

lol, why would that have anything to do with dogs? Anything a dog can't eat can't be made into something more sweet? I don't think so.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What's weird is people feeding their dogs fruits.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Ikr, I rather feed my dog fresh meat

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Fukin vegans

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why doesn't say see grapes?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Get out.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

the two are connected, but how?

8 years ago | Likes 539 Dislikes 2

This is why I love Imgur

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Its the government!

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Doctor wasn't sure, he wasn't quoted on the Grapes pic.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Dumb guy here. How does digesting food affect their kidneys?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

If you soak raisins in grape juice they turn back into grapes. And that's a Rock Fact!

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I love this dry humor.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

as dry as those raisins..............

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't know, honestly. One's a delicious fruit, and the other's satan's testicles.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Raisins is dried grapes. Yes I'm fun at parties

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 47

Oh dear. Look what you have done now

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I like you.

The Jews...I mean the juice

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

or lack thereof

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Weird right? My kid is allergic to both also. Must be some science-type explanation for this...

8 years ago | Likes 43 Dislikes 0

Peanuts in disguise!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Just keep feeding them to him to build tolerance

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

make sure to alternate between one and the other so he doesn't overdose

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

And I only learned this at 22 when my friends dad bought a raisin farm....

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I wonder if that means my dog can't drink wine.

8 years ago | Likes 52 Dislikes 0

It's not on the list.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Looking a food dehydrator box my wife says "Haha, who would dry out grapes?". I just looked at her until embarassment overtook her.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I agree with her sentiment though as I think raisins are nasty.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

They actually use to say raisins were ok until the first confirmed kidney damage from a dog eating an entire large box raisins happened.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Can they drink wine?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

People are stupid

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I once heard of a person allergic to peanuts who didn't know they were allergic to peanut butter.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

DId you know that if you soak a raisin in grape juice it turns back into a grape? That's a ROCK FACT

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But Dr Edward Cooper - VMD only confirmed the latter, so how can we be sure?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

let's try chocolate-covered raisins

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

By all means, and make it dark chocolate please

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Grasins

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Same with cherries and peaches, although peaches are marked as fine here. It's as though the pits contain the same chemicals...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Raisins are dried-up grapes, and when met with saliva, it expands (can cause the dog to choke and die).

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 7

Please tell me this is not what you believe.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What I meant to post was it's fatally toxic to the dog.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

:) no one would be able to eat grapes if they hyper inflated in our throats.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 99 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

.....is simple .....like your stupidity.....raisins are dehidrated grapes.....

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 113

One more downvote to 100 !!!......Come on !!! Is all that what U can ?! ....:))))

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

“.....” is not a substitution for punctuation.

If 74 denotes the year you were born you're not doing much for the theory that people in their 40+s should have their own separate internet

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Based on their constant misuse of ellipsis, they are either young or retarded. Or both.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

.....deeply !

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

.....74 denotes the year when I died.....now I'm a gost .... Guess where I am now.....

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

You tit.

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Twat you mean? Or tit?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Meant tit but both are applicable

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Either is fine. Tit, twit, twat, tosser

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Oh goddamnit. Took me longer than I'd care to admit to realize...

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

As long as you figured it out before the grapes in your kitchen turned to raisins, we'll forgive you

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

How bout humus?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Chickpeas are fine, yes.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Though that said "humans"

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

No, humans cause intestinal blockage

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They also tend to make a lot of noise on the way down. Not worth the hassle

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Garlic is similar to onion, so no. It's actually 5 times more toxic than onion.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Houmous is made of *chickpeas*

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It is often flavored with garlic. Check ingredients to be sure.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'd like to think that you could tell if there was an appreciable amount in there...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't know how much garlic it takes to make a dog sick. I make mine with 7-8 cloves per can of chick peas. Or a whole roasted head.
