This model uses only parts from Land Rover lego set 42110. Instructions at https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-87154/Pattspatt/helicopter-42110-c-model/#details

Previously I had released photo instructions, but ForelockMocs took the considerable time and effort to make computer-rendered instructions just like an official Lego set!

The helicopter has a long list of functions, which can be seen at https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Ni-3QleXtw0 or as a more detailed explanation at https://imgur.com/gallery/5sYxvzE

Big thanks to ForelockMocs for making this possible! His website has many other free instructions, too: http://forelockmocs.nl/

Does this actually fly?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

All it needs is a set of little rubber tires for landing. Great build!

Does it lift?

Nice work OP and ForelockMocs :) I'm going to start pulling my Land Rover apart today!

This is amazing! I think with some tweaks you could actually make it resemble a Blackhawk.

Glad you like it! Rear rotor rpm vs main rotor is fairly realistic - at least, as good as I could get without creating too much friction.

Thanks! I downloaded the instructions and will try it with my son.

This is awesome and I want it, but I cannot bring myself to take it the Rover apart to build it. :(

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Clearly you'll have to buy another Rover.

Cool! I have the Land Rover but I haven't built it yet. Now I'm thinking I might want to build a helicopter instead

4 years ago | Likes 144 Dislikes 0

Just buy the helicopter and don't build both

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Change "build" to "buy" and this is exactly what a rich Land Rover owning person would say in real life.

4 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 1

Wrong Rover. Range Rovers are the expensive ones.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Older land rovers aren’t exactly expensive to buy, just to own.

With more rpms, could it fly or just shatter into many pieces?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Rc helicopter rotors spin at 2-3,000 rpm, so yeah, pieces flung everywhere!

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Definitely the main rotor blades would fly off that high of an rpm, haha

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

(“Fly off” but not vertically, I mean :P )

Just took apart my ucs falcon and put it together to deep clean all the pieces, was thinking of what to do next and looks like I'll be mamin

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'll be making a helicopter next

Look forward to seeing it!
