Andromeda

In this one post, I'm going to try and hype you all up with everything known about this upcoming game. I'm extremely excited about it, and I figured that just in case somehow it flew over your radars, i'd tell you all about it.
This post is going to be cut into a few different sections, being as follows:

1. The protagonist (Ryder)
2. A quick overview and rundown on what has happened in the past Mass Effect Titles that may be necessary to understanding what is happening in Andromeda. (Watch out for spoilers y'all.)
3. Theories about, and actual truths about what is going to take place in ME: Andromeda. Some confirmed species, ships, characters and other Mass Effect related stuff. (PLOT)
4. And of course, information pertaining to how this will compare to ME1, ME2, and ME3. (Including romance.)
5. HOW to, WHERE to buy it.

SHEPARD

1. It was stated from the start that the original trilogy's main protagonist, Commander Shepard would not be returning in ME: Andromeda. The new game will instead be focusing on a man / woman (depending on which you choose to play) named Ryder. And this time, opposed to in the past games, either gender is canon! The two Ryders are sister and brother, and both exist in the game at the same time, which leads to theories that co-op in ME: Andromeda could be campaign-based. The trailers still show Ryder wearing N7 armour, which, according to the ME3 codex is:

"N7 is a vocational code in the Systems Alliance military. The "N" designates special forces and the "7" refers to the highest level of proficiency."

So basically, Ryder is just as badass as Shepard.

What happened? (You can probably skip over this)

2. I'll try and steer away from too many spoilers just in case some of you missed out on this beautiful trilogy. However the main plot of the ME story will be spoiled. I'm just skipping passed the lesser-information. You've been warned.

Basically, the "Reapers" happened. In ME1, you were trying to warn the world of the first Reaper encounter, a dreadnought class reaper named "Sovereign", and hardly anyone listened - people died because of this. The whole game was you trying to save council space from the threat, and you did do quite a bit, but you couldn't save them all...

ME2 was different, and it seemed as though Bioware was taking a different route, steering away from the Reaper story. Nope. Reapers. They're still coming, and nobodies listening to you Shepard.

ME3 is where it got real. Reapers are coming to kill council species, and yet nobody's listening. OH! WAIT! The very first scene is everyone asking Shepard what's happening. Shepard just says: "There's reapers you tools, wtf guys?". Basically by the end of the game, you've either died, lived, killed every living advanced species, saved everyone, turned everyone into cyborgs, or taken control of the Reapers.

There's a lot of ending. In all of which Joker survives, probably to do with the fact that it's Seth Green and they couldn't afford to off him.

PEEBEE

3. (CHARACTER) Your quirky and friendly looking ASARI FRIEND. Sorry, i'm just a bit excited.
It's been stated that her companionship is acquired by adventuring, and isn't an ally right of the bat.

LIAM

3. (CHARACTER) Liam is a former police officer who arrives on the Hyperion (Human flagship - up next)

A more in-depth review of Peebee and Liam:
http://www.gameinformer.com/b/features/archive/2016/11/10/meet-your-mass-effect-squadmates-liam-and-peebee.aspx

One important, and very awesome piece of information is that LOYALTY MISSIONS ARE MAKING A COMEBACK! This probably means that there are just as many, if not MORE teammates you can have than ME2!

The four "ark ships".

3. (PLOT) This is the Hyperion, it's a beauty ain't it? There are four confirmed Ark ships. All of which are expedition ships that carry thousands of members of a certain species from the Milky way to the Andromeda galaxy in cryogenic pods. One ship carries Asari, another Salarian, another Turian, and the Hyperion Humans. I assume that these were people that decided to escape the Milky Way in hopes to colonize away from the Reaper threat.
The game is based 600 years after the events of ME3, and it seems as though these arks were built and shipped off BEFORE the Reapers had been defeated.

The "Andromeda Initiative" takes place separate from Systems Alliance, and is a privately-funded organization.

An official events timeline can be found here:
https://www.masseffect.com/andromeda-initiative

Exploration and combat

3. ME: Andromeda creators have stated that exploration will make an even larger impact on this game than any other games in the series before. It sounds as though it has many free-roam elements AND jetpacks!

Combat sounds about the same as the previous games, probably much smoother however, being as though the game runs on the FROSTBITE engine, yep, the same engine Battlefield runs on. It has been stated that the ground team is the same style, take two people into combat with you, and command them. The game is third person, but apparently driving may have first-person elements.

KETT

3. The new (assumed hostile) species in Andromeda! Lookin' good.. The Kett are supposedly an alien species that is native to the Andromeda galaxy, and it can be assumed that they don't take four massive ships coming near their space lightly.

3. A more animal-like species in the world! Well as long as they don't have Thresher Maws again...

Oh Goddamnit

Thoughts?

4. Well apparently the galaxy map is still there so there's that...
It's going to be bloody awesome. I'm someone that is usually VERY skeptical about games. I told all my friends not to buy Hardline, they didn't listened, they all cried. I told them all that No Man's Sky was going to flop. Bingo. I told them all that Donald Trump was in Home Alone 2. Bingo.

Anyways, it just flat-out looks dope. Graphics look dope. Bioware is known for amazing stories and games. Loyalty missions are returning. There's more exploring. Yet at the end of the day, it's still Mass Effect. There's going to be hard choices, people might jump off a cliff, and you'll be helpless to save them because you're not Paragon enough- Oh wait, no they won't, because there isn't going to be a reputation system. HALLELUJAH!

I'm excited. If Mass Effect 3 wasn't your cup of tea for some reason, don't turn your back on Andromeda. Oh, and never be one of those dicks that say ME is bad because there isn't enough combat, because there is. Especially now.

ROMANCE

4. Yeah it's still a thing. You'll still be given plenty of chances to talk and converse with people, and of course, seduce.

"Romance Is Here To Stay"

Yep. For the more interested, SAUCE!:

http://www.gameinformer.com/b/features/archive/2016/11/18/mass-effect-andromeda-39-s-new-approach-to-romance.aspx

Most Viral Edit: I will be posting more Mass Effect related news and such up until the game's release. I realize after re-reading this post that I missed some very awesome information, so i'll maybe make a part 2 someday! Hopefully you enjoyed this post, though! All hail the greatest game series ever!

March cant get here sooner

Here is hoping for Thresher Maws!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!... oh the optimism!

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

#8 Also: these guys were originally going to be naked, then they went and put pants on them. Make your voice heard. Demand naked aliens.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Peebee reminds me of Sera from DA: Inquisition. Annoying little lesbian.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I'm interested but so far nothing has really grabbed me. Going to wait till it's out and hear what people say about it.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I cant get it up for game hype anymore. NMS was just too much of a let down.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

"Ryder is just as badass as Shepard." Sorry, that's physically impossible.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Spring 2017 ab it early for the hype train.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

the main protagonist is named Raiden? i mean Ryder?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yep. :-)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I love the soundtrack to ME1. Whenever I hear it, I'm taken back to my youth...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Your youth? Eight years ago?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, the youthful days of my early 30's!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As long as Liam doesn't become Kadien 2.0

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Who in turn was Carth 2.0

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He sounds a lot like DAO Alistair from the Dragon Age series. All around good guy that provides levity and snark.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ugh keep trying to forget this game, loved 1-2 but 3 was so horrible it made me hate the series.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I'M COMMANDER SHEPARD AND I AM SO EXCITED

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Hoo-ah!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

NO GARRUS NO DEAL

9 years ago | Likes 102 Dislikes 1

They just need to recalibrate the game to incorporate him.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Can this wait for a bit? I'm in the middle of some recalibrations.

9 years ago | Likes 73 Dislikes 2

Calibrations*

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

It's 600 years after ME3. He's calibrating in Taurian heaven.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Time and space is relative!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Donald Trump is in Home Alone 2?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Haha yeah he had a cameo

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Can you romance a Kett?

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

That right there is the ME player mindset. 'Oh, a new alien species? Can I fuck it?'

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

reminds me of this haha.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I think this is the Ark http://www.gamereactor.eu/media/75/masseffectandromeda_1917583.jpg The Hyperion is the 'pathfinder' sent ahead.

9 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 1

False. pathfndrs are paragons of each arc. 4 Arms one big ship called Nexus.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Arks*

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That is the Nexus. Hyperion is one of the four Ark ships. "Pathfinders" are elite soldier-scientists assigned to each Ark.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Okay, I can see that now! Kinda weird that they create arks and then make a massive base that dwarfs them that gets sent on ahead anyway

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hehehe

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

No that's the Nexus. It was sent ahead of all 4 arks and is going to be a sort of 'base' for all of them.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh crap. My bad. Thanks for telling me!

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

No, they're wrong. That's the Nexus, the fifth ship. The Human ark is indeed call the Hyperion. You had it right.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I could be wrong, but that was the impression I got from that Andromeda orientation briefing video

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

ooops. forgot to add. /a/8zPKY

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

So can I play Andromeda if I've never played the other games?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Definitely. it's in the related universe but it's separate from it. Very little is brought over but the core gameplay from what I hear.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is the only franchise I still buy on day of release. Please don't burn me, Bioware.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ryder? I hardly knew her.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I cannnootttttt waaaaaaiiittttt

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Saame!!!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've never played a mass effect. Is it worth it?

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

It's an investment - but a DAMN good one. If you play the series, read a few tips and carry your saves from one to the next.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Short answer: yes. Long answer: yyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssssss.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Totally

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yes. Yes yes yes. Also yes. Did I mention yes? YES. Yes yes yes. Yeeeeeees. Yes yes yes. YES yes YES yes. YES YES YES. YES? YES! Yes

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Absolutely, it's my all time favorite game series.

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

Is it like The Witcher or any other RPG series?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Funny enough, Witcher 3 is my next favorite game. And yeah, they are alike in a lot of ways: deep rich story, great characters, 1/

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2/dialogue heavy, and the choices you make have a big impact on the story. You can import your character to the next games so your choices2/

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

3/ carry over. And they both have amazing soundtracks. ME1, in my opinion, is a little slow at the start but quickly picks up once you 3/

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ya Witcher 3 took my top spot last year so if it's like that I'm sure I'd be into it. Just bought Skyrim Remastered so maybe in a few months

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A reminder to everyone, DO NOT FUCKING PREORDER. There is no reason. EA games has proven it has a habit of fucking over people so, WAIT.

9 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 6

I preordered for the bonus stuff (I'm an ME nerd) I haven't bought a big name game for a LONG time so I'm okay with the gamble.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 7

i preordered ME2, and ME3, the steadily decreasing quality has led me to believe this one could easily be far worse

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

ME 3 was great though. Literally other than the ending, which after the update is debatable, it was nigh flawless.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

the game was released too soon, or the devs got lazy. There is a lot about it that just screams "we don't actually care"

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I only pre-order games that I know will be good, like ones from a franchise that provide collector stuff. ME is on the list of totes worth.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

did ME3 not tell you otherwise?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

What's wrong with ME3?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

it was... lazy in a lot of places. the first half of the game was very well designed but it was clear the second half was rushed

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I only pre-order when there is some substantial advantage to it, like limited edition goodies for collectors and stuff like that. /1

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

And only when I like the stuff too. I wouldn't pre-order something just for DLC or in-game bullshit. Or worse, for nothing. /2

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

i dont support ea, i support bioware, even after they were bought by ea theyve rarely fucked up (DA2 and me3s ending)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

DAI was really awful too. But I still have hope for ME3

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

it wasnt DAO but it was way better than 2,

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

EA is bioware, they cleaned bioware out after SWTOR only got 3 million subscribers instead of 5, it's definitely NOT the same company.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

not suprised by that and knew that, while im worried about it due to quite a few major people leaving during and after DAI, i'll stil get it

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

Or...preorder if you want and understand the "risks". It's your money.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

no. preordering just encourages companies like EA to release unfinished games and because you already paid they aren't punished.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

And buying black licorice just encourages companies that make it to keep making it even though I hate it.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

but people don't buy licorice before they can even see it

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

My point is that not everyone is going to see the game as "unfinished" or bad. People spend their money on things that THEY want, whether(1)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

or not you want/like/agree with it, and they should be allowed to do so. (2)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Literally the only thing I care about is if I get to have gay sex with a Krogan yet.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Doesn't look like there are gonna be Krogans in this game, since the ships are only Asari, Turian, Salarian and Human.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Some of the earliest footage had Krogan in it.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I wouldn't be surprised if the Salarians took a few Krogans on their ships for Experimental Purpose.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

According to someone else on here, there will be quarians, Krogans, and a few other species from the trilogy on those ships in smaller #s.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I can already taste the racial tension and faction-based decisions right now.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You can't compare Mass Effect to other games. Mass Effect is ALWAYS a buy. Mass Effects, Bioshocks, Dead Spaces: must owns for gamers.

9 years ago | Likes 43 Dislikes 11

biodrones... even after shiquisition and ass effect 3 you keep buying this crap.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 16

Nothing wrong with ME3. If gamers used their tools stead of bitching and whining in obscure corners of the net, devs could use the feedback.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

You. I like you.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Devs beg for feedback. They want you to buy the game. They want it to be good. Go to any feedback board and read the comments *facepalm* 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

very little actual feedback. 90% "Eat balls!" "You're all fags'" "Game is shit!" It's ridiculous. Hating on EA is HUGE to.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I'd be interested to know why you think that?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Agreed

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

Me, gf and daughter are fired up for Andromeda.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You're raising a ME fan? Could you adopt me as well? I might be a bit old but I'll be good.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

She'll be 16 in April. She's played pretty much EVERYTHING. I'm so happy she sees the art in games: music, story and graphics.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Oh my God me too. But damn my dad isn't a gamer so I found about this game 3 years ago. My first playthrough was when I was 14.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And ME is one of the best in all those departments. Have you heard the OST album for me3? So good.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Would most likely kill for a new or redux of Dead Space.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Would you kindly*

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Dead Space 4 with Isaac and possibly Carver running from the Brethren Moons to save humanity or a least warn another alien race

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That could work. I thought the Awakening dlc was good---just too short. Visceral's working on a Star Wars though.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If they could get back to the feel of the first two...wow. It's not out of rotation---so they'll make one eventually.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I didn't buy ME3...

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

One hell of a game. Worth buying imo! Same with two. Maybe not me1 if you're on pc - just buy the Genesis dlc instead.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Did you not play ME3 when it first came out? It's the single reason I'm not buying Andromeda.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Why not ME1 if he's on PC?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've had negative experiences in the past. It just doesn't feel ported well enough. Its also not compatible with many new operating systems.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Still a bloody good game though!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

ME3 was one of the biggest letdowns in game history and I regret I ever played it. I'm also never going to buy another Bioware game again...

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

http://imgur.com/Sz5lV82

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 3

Fair enough. I've enjoyed them all.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Should be Unpopular Opinion Puffin.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Everyone bitched about #3s ending but I bet all of u will buy this day one.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 4

Nope.jpeg. Won't be buying or playing MEA at all

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I didn't bitch about it. ME3 had the best actual gameplay out of the trilogy.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

ME3 had some serious "epic moments" in it. Well worth the ride.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

The journey was /so much better/ than the ending. And BioWare is a great company in terms of story writing. So yeah I'm buying this day 1.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

As someone whose favourite game of all time by a country mile is ME2, I'm gonna wait for reviews. It's good a consumer practice.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I preordered it on N7 day. And I actually liked the endings so...

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

Same here, not everything ends in happiness.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

lol, nobody was complaining that it wasn't a happy ending. Everyone was complaining because it was a RETARDED ending.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That's one reason its so awesome. What's the most dramatic thing a character can do in a story? Die.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I love tour thinking. Finally someone who isn't bitching about ME3 ending.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Except Shepard didn't die, if you picked Destruction and didn't play like a lemon. Also: If you were satisfied by the original endings 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

that made (engage Shoddycast mode) NO. GOD-DAMN. SENSE. (end Shoddycast mode), then you are far too easy to please. 2/2

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Even after reading this I still can't help thinking, "please don't fuck this up. Please don't fuck this up."

9 years ago | Likes 211 Dislikes 3

Nahhh I feel like it's going to be good.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

The farther EA is from this the better. They have more than enough fictional blood on their hands.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

If they didn't bring back the original writing team, I'm dreading this.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hi from the future. They fucked it up.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They can't fuck it up right? Right!?!?!

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

And then the flashbacks of Destiny kick in....

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I enjoy Destiny. It's not a great game, but pleasant. Like a day off when you don't do anything you wanted to do, but it was still nice.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

As time went on they sorta cleaned up and made it better, but oh god that release/initial month, that was rough

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Destiny is to what Diablo is to PC. It drove away a lot of players at the start that won't come back but are much much better games now.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I feel like they are. Pretty much every game that has came out in the past few years has been fucked up.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

you don't play many games do you

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

DA:I Was incredibly bad so it makes me nervous but ME is still my favorite series so I have to do the pre-order right...? Right?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 4

This is the only game I would preorder. Maybe ES6 or the next Fallout, maybe...

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How was DAI incredibly bad? It was biowares most profitable DA game (and one of the most profitable overall) and it won several awards...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

The storytelling was atrocious and the gameplay was extremely repetitive...

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

I don't think you get to judge video games any more, you're not going to lie the new ME it's going to be like DA:I I recon

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah same here. ME 3's ending ruined the whole trilogy for me. I also hope they don't inject this game with SJW bullshit like Inquisition.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What other ending could they have written considering everything that had happened.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I would need more space to explain but to make it short I just didn't like how all of your decisions you made didn't matter in the end.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why would they? They only thing bioware did bad in mass effect was me3's ending. Everything else was pretty much golden

9 years ago | Likes 57 Dislikes 3

I liked the ending for a few reasons, but the risk with these things is to either try to be to "new" or try to stay too "classic" 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 4

This aged well

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Because they fucked up the entire 'plot' of ME2, made DA2 a walking disaster, made ME3 a subversion of everything in the series?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Bioware, as a company has gone downhill ever since that point. Hopefully this is not the case for ME:A's dev team. I REALLY hope.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

They also fucked up the entire 'plot

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The first risks ruining what made the franchise great, the second ruins the game because it just feels old.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

People keep saying that, but I only saw the endings on youtube because the rest of the game sucked too. EVERY choice was a palette swap.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 9

But wasn't the ME3 original ending leaked, and EA wouldn't give them time to redo it properly? Because that was the story I heard.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Actually because the lead writer wrote an 'artistic vision' ending and didn't let anyone else review it until it was too late to change.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He couldn't see how bad it was because 'artistic vision', and he didn't share it with anyone who could have warned him.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I never understood this. Why change the original, thought-out ending simply because it leaked? What's it matter if a story element leaked?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

ME2 was based almost entirely around the suicide mission gimmick which led to no returning squad mates in ME3 other than Tali and Garrus. /1

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But ME2 was fun on its own. Don't get me wrong. Something like the suicide mission is how you END a trilogy. Not put it in the middle. /3

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

ME2 contributed very little to the overall Reaper story of the ME3 trilogy and stuck out. And it cast aside RPG for more action. Thx, EA. /2

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Huh. It never occurred to me that way. All ME2 did was slow down the Reaper attack by blowing up the collectors, and that's practically it..

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They never even answered why the Collectors were making a human Reaper in the first place. Especially since the Reapers were on.. /1

That said, I still love playing ME. I have played the trilogy 12 times. One time as each class for each gender. :p /4

rather than plan out the entire trilogy first. Even visually and gameplay-wise, the three games are not consistent. /3

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

on their way within days (Arrival DLC) or months (ME3) anyway. It was still a fun game but they clearly did the planning per game /2

I mean, the ending was so bad they had to move the game to a new galaxy so they wouldn't have to deal with it.

they really couldn't grasp the nature of their existence...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

AND its a prequel to the shittening, so they're doubleing up.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

It's not a prequel techinically. It starts during ME2, but the main game takes place 600 years after ME3 in a different galaxy.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They didn't mess it up. The entire series telegraphed that ending. If you didn't see it coming you werent paying attention

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 14

Didn't see it coming? Seeing as a new ending was slapped together a month before release with a new writer I don't think bioware even saw it

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It wasn't new rofl, it had very, very minor tweaks. But sure, continue the ignorant outrage

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

So it's BETTER that they fully intended to give you a red, green, or blue ending? Rewriting it at the last second is all that justifies that

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I mean yeah, but they did promise that choices in 1 would affect the outcome of 3, and then slappef a good, bad, neutral choice to it.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

it did impact the outcome, just not specifically the grand finale outcome. Did you really want your love interest to dictate the galaxy?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

No, but they mislead fans into believing they would affect the outcome.

Dragon Age II would like a word with you.

The reused environments were crap, but aside from that DA2 had some of the best writing (especially for characters) in the DA series.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I didn't feel that at all to be honest. I did like the improved combat, was a big step up from Origins. I felt the Warden's story was so 1/?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Was better than Hawkes. I did like how Inquisition made it seem like you were going to change the world for the better.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I get you didn't feel that way but as a general consensus, DA2 got a lot of praise for it's writing. Both because of it having a more 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also, don't fucking pre-order. Look at Dishonoured 2.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Yes because that whole "Don't pre-order thing" has REALLY been shaking up the gaming industry. Boy you guys are sure showing them.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

I'm more in the "I don't want to fuck about trying to refund shite" camp. Not like they're going to run out of copies, so why bother?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Gets you special edition stuff like the Skrim Map cloth map or whatever is why I do it

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Wait, is it not good? I loved the first one.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ai is janky, its not optimised very well /at all. Need a super computer to make it run OK.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I usually don't preorder. But i treated this a bit differently. Bioware's one of the only companies I trust.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 6

But the Bioware you knew is gone. It's a part of EA now.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

> "BioWare" > "Trust" > Is literally owned by EA, the company voted "Shittiest in America" two years in a row and narrowly avoided a third.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Nah man, too much stuff is going too wrong with games. I'm holding off .... unless they pull some Prothean shit again.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

It's your money man i respect that decision. Look at all those people that preordered battleborn. Great game, but not enough community...

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Their fault for marketing it as a competitor to Overwatch when it was a totally different game and playstyle. (1/2)

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I mean, remember all the "wow-killer" MMOs? Intentionally competing with Blizz when you can choose not to is a bad idea. (2/2)
