Sauce: Doctor Who - Doomsday

So, as a non-Whonian, what makes the Daleks so good?

This was one of the best DW moments.

This is not war. This is Cyber Bullying.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

The Cybermen won the "identify yourself" standoff, though.

And then he dropped the mic with, “Raise communication barrier!”

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Damn, the space Hitlers have sass!

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Its crazy how silly those things look because their design is from like the 60's, but at the same time everyone loves them that's a whovian.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The original point of their design was to make them look non-humanoid while allowing a human actor to fit inside. They still look...alien.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fun fact : The same voice actor plays both daleks and cybermen, so this was one guy in a studio taking potshots at himself.

8 years ago | Likes 98 Dislikes 1

I wonder if they do that sort of thing in one go or two.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Dude. Nicholas Briggs is the shit. Not enough people know his name.

My favorite burn: Dalek: " Daleks have no concept of elegance." Cyberman: ”This is obvious."

8 years ago | Likes 569 Dislikes 1

In Cyber culture, this is what we call a "sick fucking burn".

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Remixed and retitled "Bitch Fight", hilarious: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=VmMxz4cMKuc

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Such a good series finale

8 years ago | Likes 58 Dislikes 2

Well in Britain they call seasons series so, yeah

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

SERIES?

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 4

British people refer to individual seasons as "series." It can get confusing to us folk across the pond.

8 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

In British television, seasons are referred to as series.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

That's bloody well right, you uneducated Yank!

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

To us a series finale means a show has been canceled. He immediately became concerned.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I read it in cybermen and dalek voices.

8 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

We all do, we all do...

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

WE ALL DO!!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So one dalek can kill all the cyberman, but the doctor can destroy all the daleks

8 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 0

Handfuls of Daleks can and have taken over whole interstellar empires

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

To paraphrase Dan Hardcastle: A single Dalek is a threat; an army of Daleks is a nuisance you can swat away with deus ex machina.

8 years ago | Likes 43 Dislikes 1

Hahha. The amount that gets used in the show makes me think it should be renamed to "The Doctor ex Machina"

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

It's the Law of Conservation of Ninjutsu.

8 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

I've always heard it as the Inverse Law of Ninja Strength.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Who's stronger? I dont watch the show.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Quality over quantity

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

technically, the dalek. They are almost indestructible. on the other hand, the cybermen can build new cybermen, but the daleks can't

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Well, Cybermen are just androids while Daleks are cyborgs, if I know it well enough. Correct?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Daleks are an alien race though, modern Cybermen are imprisoned humans so it's easier to make more. Daleks have to breed.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ummm...if I remember correctly cybermen are technically cyborgs while the dalek is kinda just a slimeball in a mech suit

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

That's still rather makes them a cyborg. The flesh part doesn't have to be a permanent fixture.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Incorrect. The Cybermen are cyborgs, hence the name. Daleks have power armour which they are fused with so basically also cyborgs.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

However Daleks have far superior technology.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

That's a difficult argument to make

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I see. Interesting. So...Cybermen just use anyone while Daleks are race-specific?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Cybermen upgrade mostly humans I believe, while Daleks clone themselves to stay pure.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

tldr, Cybermen are communist cyborgs and daleks are fascist cyborgs

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0
