This is something very common worldwide

So Brazilians got this idea.

Virtual reality and vaccines

Virtual Realilty And Vaccines.

+1 for making the jobs of our doctors and nurses better.

In my country they just punch it in

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I love that one kid “I’m only 5”

8 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

My mom worked in an allergy clinic and would let me watch sometimes. I loved getting shots and having allergy prick tests done on my back

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

No. Kids aren't afraid of vaccines. Kids are afraid of needles and the pain.

8 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

I got a phobia of needles myself, but I guess I just grit my teeth deal with it. But you know, I guess this is a start for kids.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ok what the actual fuck. I live in Brasil my whole life and NEVER have i ever seen this shit before . Welp guess its time to go tothe medic

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Hahaha Luigi. Middle class Brazilian kids have the funniest names. Most private schools are teeming with Enzos and Valentinas.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Eh, idk, I used to have a needle phobia. Then I went to school and had to get poked a lot. A lot. And it sucked but now I don’t give a shit

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

about them unless they’re in my mouth. Idk I feel like coddling them this much isn’t good at all.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Looks neat. Had enough bloodwork done as a child I eventually got past the fear but this could be good if needles are encountered less often

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I think this is a fantastic idea.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

protect childs from everything, until they become broken ppl who cant function in society :D hurray

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Genuine question, why are people afraid of needles? I’ve never been afraid and I don’t know anyone that is.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

When I was getting them in primary school the 'nurses' were volunteers and didn't know what they were doing. Nice and painful.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In my case it was several weeks of playing pincushion after a ruptured appendix and infection at a really young age.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

For some people it's pain. No one likes pain.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Typically because of them being seen as bad by television shows and parents being afraid of them around their kids so it rubs off on them to

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Or, hear me out here, you do your fucking job as a parent and teach your kids not to be little bitches. Parent of 4. It's doable.

8 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 9

Right? I'm a huge needlephobe. I still got my fucking vaccinations.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

Holy crap you guys! Check this out, we have a Perfect Parent dispensing Wisdom over here!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Haha no, nowhere near perfect. But people don't treat their kids like people, and then they're shocked when they're awful.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

i use to be scared of needles, but then did a lot of paintballing as a teenager. The stings of paintball kind of dulled my fear of needles

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

why did this make me tear up!?

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 2

Technology serving humanity, as it should.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

But like wont this take forever to get a bunch of kids through?

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Do it long enough and im sure they can speedrun it in under 30s

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No, only as long as the procedure itself, plus or minus maybe 30 seconds at most.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It didn't take as long as getting another nurse in the room to help hold the child still when they freak out

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Your fear of needles is quickly eliminated when you need them to survive, I was diagnosed with type 1 Diabetes at 6 years old, 27 years ago.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So, since I have an insane fear of needles, I think this would be pretty awesome and would give something like this a try.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Many of us get our fears from our parents. If they're calm and something like this helps it could change everything

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

I have to deal with this, I work with mentally handicapped adults. A simple jest can make my life a living hell.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Dentist here - some kids are fine and then their parents say stupid shit like “this is gonna hurt so bad! Lol” and bam, scarred for life

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yep it's ridiculous

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I got my fear from this one shithead nurse who said "Now turn your head so I can stab you." Never feared needles before that.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Im TERRIFIED of needles. But im too old for such distractions. FML

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

You just need another kind of game in the vr

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've never seen a video game that gives the player autism

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

you havent played Vr Chat then.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Here's source. Because you need to source: https://youtu.be/9CPVOt7QjcM

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

thank you for the sauce

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Good sauce

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Make an adult version, but make it so sci-fi as shit.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes, what's the harm in shielding young children from something relatively painless but necessary...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Don't quote me on this but could help reduce fear of doctors in adulthood

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"Don't quote me on this but could help reduce fear of doctors in adulthood" - @Molly1031 , circa 2018

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

goddam u +1

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So this is how the matrix starts.

8 years ago | Likes 226 Dislikes 1

Or ready player one. What that movie where people get super high and go into a simulated world

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I thought it started when it ended?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Maybe Sword Art Online

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Or the Mothers Rosario arc... only good one in that show.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

This made me tear up. Not because it's cute or anything it's just I have a phobia against syringes and this scared me shitless.

8 years ago | Likes 75 Dislikes 6

They are not that bad I hate needles and they numb your gums first all you feel is pressure and a small pinch similar to butterfly needle

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Agreed. Am in cold sweat in 32 degree Australia

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Wait until you have some major dental work. They'll inject you in the guns, yes you can feel and hear the medicine! It squirts and hurts.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Worst one in my opinion was a shot to the roof of the mouth. A tear rolled down my cheek as that one went in.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah I got a hole in my tooth fixed with no anesthesia. Sooo I'm taking better care of my teeth now

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

In addition to brushing/flossing of course, I suggest chewing xylitol gum after food. I got complimented on my clean teeth last checkup.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm a grown-ass man and have a phobia of needles. I would totally prefer this.

8 years ago | Likes 161 Dislikes 6

You know what? VR that actually has you feeling stuff IRL like touch or minor pain would be VERY immersive.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm not scared of needles, however I have fainted a couple of times by looking at the wrong time. Scares the heck out of the nurses.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

https://xkcd.com/37

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fuck yeah, same here. I'll take a piece of fire fruit on my arm over a needle any day!

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I'm with you on that. whenever I get shots I need to have my attention taken by something else otherwise I'm put into fight or flight mode.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

After I started getting weekly allergy shots, I could get normal ones. The allergy shots area lot less painful and eventually u get used to

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is valid, dude. Phobias are a bitch, and if this technology would help you take care of your health, that's cool.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I can watch myself get stuck with needles, doesnt bother me. But seeing OTHER people get stuck fucking freaks me out.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I just wish the doctors office would do the same as the dentist and just give me Nitrous to get me high enough to not care.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm a grown ass man that hates the eventuality of prostate exams in the future, I want them to make a VR situation for that.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Pretty sure that pornhub already has something similar.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They just shove a camera in your ass right? Or do they shove needles up you? One sounds like a party. One sounds like a bad day.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Prostate exam is checking the prostate gland with a finger (up your butt). You're thinking of a colonoscopy where they use a camera-probe

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you prefer it, imagine children. I think this is a very clever way of avoiding boys and girls facing a stressful situation.

8 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 2

I read article about mexican doctor using this instead of painmeds. When going help people in poor areas. He had meds at hand but saved $.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

interesting read about helping poor people and vr. https://mosaicscience.com/story/virtual-reality-VR-surgery-pain-mexico/

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh, this would be great. When I went to get my flu shot, there was this boy that was screaming I DON'T WANNA GO BACK and I was like I GETCHU

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I never found it particularly enjoyable, but I've never feared it either. I'm pretty happy that I can expect pain and go through it without>

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

> needing a crutch like this. Not saying it doesn't have uses, just that it shouldn't be used as a blanket solution for all kids.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

boys and girls should face stressful situations though...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Have you heard of Arcangel-program?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I'm conflicted on this one. Somehow I feel that fear of needles is the kind of thing you better face when you're a child.

I still have them do that. And I am still afraid of needles. The only time I willingly take them is when the dentist gives me Nitrous.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Doesn't make sense, vaccinations when young is probably the thing that causes a phobia to develop in the first place.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Honestly I had a fear of needles from my mom freaking out. This would have solved it

8 years ago | Likes 48 Dislikes 0

i got my fear when they had to drain blood multiple times because they accidentialy trashed the first phials the day before in an hospital.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I got a bad case.of fear. Maybe from my constant shots as a baby and toddler

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I got over mine as an adult when I had to start doing immunotherapy injections for allergies in my late 20s.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

the real question you should be asking, IS THAT A FUCKING WERECHAIR!!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yt65QPLZof4

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That’s something that will stick with me always.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I mean, this is one way to do that. Worst case scenario is having a bad initial experience, which makes it way harder to address later.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's highly speculative. They already distract kids with like squeaky toys and jingling keys. It's not like they'd do this forever.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

yeah this

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

For some reason, i still don't like vaccines but im great with IVs and blood draws

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As long as you don't show me the fucking needle i'm fine with it. If you show it to me, chances are i'll keel over.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Got my wisdom teeth removed. Anesthetist came in with a huge syringe, i went white as a sheet, dude said "be back in 30" and went out again

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also might teach to dissassociate pain from reality which isn't good either.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 4

Life gets easier. I am sure at some point there was a guy who said that people should not use medical anesthetic because the pain is 1/

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Something you need to face. There's no reason to make a situation more physically uncomfortable than it needs to be. 2/2

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Lol either your are afraid or you aren't. Adults who are afraid are afraid because they got poked a lot as a child. Nobody stops being

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Afraid of needless unless they're a drug addict lol. We so have a mini panic attack before we get a vaccine.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I actually have no problem with needles. All it took for little me was calm adults and an ice cream for "being such a good boy". Kids, man.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This kind of thing also works for burn victims and changing their bandaging. It's a neat tech.

8 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 0

That seems like a better application since that takes longer than 5 seconds.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Por que los dos?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Dude. I've gotten so much needles before all around my upper body and I'm still a little scared of them. It's not the needle part however.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The last time I was afraid of a needle was when I was 3 and they stabbed me in the butt. I couldn't sit for a week. After that I was like>

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh you are only stabbing me in the arm? Go for it dude!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

MUH VIRTUAL HEROIN ADDICTION

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As an individual with an extreme fear of needles, I would try this. As a kid I got my shots when needed but never without resistance.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I feel like the fear this time isn't the needles. It's vaccines as a concept with how people are always blowing up, saying they're dangerous

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

40 Year old man getting a vaccination: "WHERE IN THE GODDAMN IS MY FIRE FRUIT"

8 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

Considerig I had a nervous breakdown cause the doctor insisted on givig me my vaccines in portions over time, I WISH they has these.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

In high school I saw a classmate freaking out about needles and they had to restrain the guy to vaccinate. Ever since I've also been scared.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I had to have nurses hold me down. I lost my fear after watching an episode of Becker. I think this would help a lot

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was never all that scared until I got some blood drawn for testing and the phlebotomist dropped the tubing before taping doen the needle.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was walking in sandles once as a kid and walked straight into a small twig. Realised that a needle is less painful and more useful

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have hyper sensitive skin so needles, NO. needles hurt more than anything else.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Also conflicted. On a positive note, the kids get vaccine-autism, but on a negative note they don't fully get the pain and fear of needles.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

I hope you are being facetious

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Good to know

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I donate blood very regularly. That helped me get passed a phobia of needles.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was just told to suck it up and don't be a bitch. Very effective.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I disagree. When I was a child it took 4 nurses to hold me down as I went apeshit over a shot. I would have better control as an adult.

8 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 1

Yeah, in cases like that, this makes sense. With the more "butterfly in stomach" nerves that can be fixed by a Disney bandage? Not so much.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Funnily enough, I was totally ok with needles as a baby-toddler-child, but now they freak me out. I think it’s cause I had a seizure while

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

donating blood though

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I got over mine during inprocessing in Basic Training. Turns out an angry man threatening to kill you if you flinch is a great way to do it.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't mind needles at all, so I give blood every 8 weeks to help make up for those who can't stand to.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Kinda over needles, not good with blood draws now

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I had to get like 5 shots in a row, then I got over it somehow. My brain just developed a coping mechanism somehow...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Psh. Getting over a fear of needles is bullshit. You just have to grit it out until it sucks less. Plus this>having nurses hold you down.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I've had plenty of needles when I was a kid. Including an IV line. Still scared shitless of needles. Makes me nervous just thinking about it

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yup, I got over the fear of needles when I required a lot of hospital visits in my early 20's.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I developed a needle phobia at age 18 during a 6 week stay at a hospital. It is definitely something you don't need to carry as an adult

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My fear of needles started with a septagenarian retired nurse that couldnt hold her pulse still for her life, punctured me over 6 times bad.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I never got over it, actually. As a child, a teenager, and even now, I just couldn't handle anything going through my skin.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The best way to get over a fear of needles is to use them on other people. Not sure where I'm going with this.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Used to be scared of needles, then I broke my arm. Don't give a shit anymore, figured if I could stand breaking and arm needles aren't bad.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well, I never got over it. I just look away now

8 years ago | Likes 74 Dislikes 0

...and see, I HAVE to watch it happen. Not knowing what it is, or when it's coming is the only stressful part for me.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My mom taught me to never look away, bc that just lets your imagination blow it out of proportion; works for me, but everyone's different

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

But you did develop a coping mechanism. That's something.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I love watching them draw my blood.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm a heroin addict and can poke myself no prob. But when I have to get blood drawn I have to look away while the nurse digs to find a vein.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I dislike needles but I absolutely have to stare directly at it when it goes in.

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Same, and be on the edge of my chair. I can't stand being blocked in when it happens, I need to be prepared to move if the nurse sneezes.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My daughter is 4. She does this. It creeps the people out. Hell, I cant even look at other people getting shots, though Im not "scared".

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah. An I get immensely annoyed and uncomfortable if I can't see it. I can't stand butt shots

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There are dozens of us. DOZENS!

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I do this because I'm interested to see. It tends to unnerve the med tech.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Youre not alone friendo

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I liked the way it felt when I got stuck with needles. God I was a weird kid

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

While I didn't like the feeling, I did like to watch. As long as I could see what was happening, I was good. Still am now.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Same! Nurses want me to look away but if I don't see the needle I tense up.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

27/m/uk. Had a traumatic hospital experience with a kidney infection when I was a kid and I flip out when in situations with needles. (1/2)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Also, thinking/talking about needles makes my left arm ache and tingle... like it is right now. I can’t even face blood tests. (2/2)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Honestly... wiggle your toes. Distracts your brain from the pain sensation of most hypodermic needles.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Doesn't work when your mom exclaims "Oh my God!" while the nurse is using a transfer syringe. Instant reinforcement of fear, CHECK!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I never got to be afraid of needles thanks to having a diabetic mother and being diabetic myself. I had to see/use them multiple times daily

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

My kid's mom has tattoos, and our daughter is T1 diabetic... I find it hilarious that both still hate needles.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My dad has had 4 shots a day since he was 4. Still never get used seeing to him jab himself

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm an adult with multiple tattoos and piercings, and yet I'm still afraid of medical needles

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 2

Same, although I'm fine with blood tests just hate it when there's stuff going in

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's not even weird as my friend who was an intravenous drug user and doesn't like getting shots

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I used to donate plasma. Nothing like watching a metal pipe get stabbed into your arm and your fluids draining out shortly after.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I can only do whole blood or red cells as the anticoagulants for plasma made me hurl on the phlebotomist.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I got over it when I got a filling done. Turns out, drills are WAY fuck more painful that a needle. Problem solved.

8 years ago | Likes 524 Dislikes 0

Yeah after you've broken bones, had stitches... two surgeries from injures... Needles don't seem all that bad...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

it's not the pain as much as the feeling of something being put inside your veins that bothers me.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nah, that novacane shot in the roof of the mouth when getting wisdom teeth out was a fucking bitch.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

i have had 6 fillings done when i was younger and only 1 was ever done with a needle.....i was not fond of needles or toothbrushes

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Lucky for me, I faint during local anesthetic dental work! They have to sedate me.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I did a lot of dental work last year or so. The needle points hurt the worse, and took ages to heal, every time...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I mean, it's not like I've become indifferent to pain but yeah, there are certain life experiences that put the little poke into perspective

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

For me personally it was a dislocated kneecap and the time I was treated for frequent nose bleeds.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My fear of needle was totally unrelated to pain. Used to get my fillings done without anesthetics till i got over it.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ah the major payne method “aahh my leg!” *snaps finger* “aaah my finger!”

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

*stab* fuck yeah drugs

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Always get the happy gas.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was deeply afraid of needles as a kid & hated the dentist because of it. They waited until I was a teen to tell me about the gel.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Pregnancy got me over the fear of needles. Getting your blood drawn every other dr.’s appointment will make you numb enough

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Unfortunately drills I could handle still terrified of needles

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Unless it's for a blood test, and for some reason all your veins have disappeared, so the nurse repeatedly jabs your inner elbow.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Even better, you get NHS Nurse tea. Which is close to a builders brew, but you can't cut it into blocks. And its hot.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Nope. No tea in Australia. Just a cotton ball of blood and some super strength tape in your arm hair. Free, of course.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

How about the sound of that drill grinding away at your teeth.. oh and the smell

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Doesn't bother me. I can't smell too good. And I just stare at the iffy wiring in the lamp. It irks me so.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The smell and taste was awful! I recently tried drinking some bone broth this winter and the taste was too similar to powdered tooth.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Drills do not scare me. Medical staples don't. Needles make me cry like a BITCH. I'm 30 & weep like a tiny wee baby

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I made the other choice on this one. 2 fillings with only that mouth numb-y cup of stuff.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I hate needles so much that I rather endure the pain from the drill. Really, fuck needles and fuck doctors who use them without caution

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's even worse when the pain relief doesn't work so you've got Needle and Drill pain.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

And this is what triggered my fear of dentists instead. When I was a child, I had mouth surgery with no pain meds. The drill was unbearable.

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

As a kid, I would white-knuckle the chair during fillings until one was deep enough it was no longer an option. Valium saved the day.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

When I was a child I had a fever, my hands felt just like two balloons.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Thankfully it happened to me as an adult so I could get utterly shitfaced to forget it.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I don't know if even that would have changed anything. I still think that's the worst pain I've ever felt.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I got over it when I had to have over 200 blood tests done for various reasons. Btw, most painful one is through the wrist into the artery

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was on morphine at the time and it was still the most pain I've ever had

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So how is your newfound fear of dentists going?

8 years ago | Likes 137 Dislikes 0

When I was little I was at the dentist and nearly got run over by a car that plowed through the office because the driver fell asleep.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0
