Really proud of my garden this year. This sunflower is well over 10 foot tall.

My zinnias loved the fertilizer they got last week! I tried a version of a no-till garden this year- aka improved soil structure and soil biodiversity!

Green beans - Pro tip: use scissors to snip the ends of beans off instead of snapping them

My first time growing tomatillos. The only downside to a no till garden is that I used Glyphosate to kill my weeds before planting. Next year, I hope to solarize weeds by using plastic laid on the ground in early spring to smother weeds.

This bell pepper was yummy! You can see the generous amount of straw mulch I use to control weeds - I dont hoe/weed my garden. Mulch also keeps my soil from washing away when it rains and keeps the soil moist longer.

A recent harvest. Basil in the middle. I grew red okra this year for fun. Haven't eaten any yet, just gave most away to my Haitian Brother-in-law. I grow okra for him!

I tried out the Florida weave method of trellising tomatoes this year. Its worked pretty good. I learned this during and internship a few years ago, first time implementing it at home. There are a few peppers in the back row. They got just a few lines to support them.

Cucumber flowers! One potential downside of the mulch could be the storage of diseases from year to year. I think if I clean the plants and mulch out before next year and get new mulch, it should help prevent that.

We had a hummingbird moth visiting the zinnias yesterday! Look it up if you don't know ? I think the flowers help bring pollinators to the rest of my garden.

Okra flower! So beautiful!

I'm also a grass farmer ? This is what I got my Masters in so I gotta do a little to keep me up with the times.

Cat tax- Meet Dahlia and Jade. Ask me your garden or animals questions below! I have a Bachelors in Animal Science and Masters in Agronomy if you wanna know my koalafications ?

Everything looks amazing. You introduced me to hummingbird moths! They look incredible.

What's the Florida weave method of trellising tomatoes? Or trellising in general? I've only ever used tomato cages or stakes.

Basically, you use wooden stakes and twine to support the plants instead of cages. I think its easier than cages
