Even if there are things I can no longer get in the store. I hope the very worst besets the farmers that support the rapist. Fuck them all. I hope the leopards have a fantastic feast.

They will, and they will gladly continue to vote Republican afterwards.

Because that is the function of racism in America. It is how wealthy people manipulate white people into voting against our economic self-interest.

Yeah, but then trump supporting private equity groups will buy it all up for pennies on the dollar and sell/lease it to foreign interests until all we grow are cash crops for Arab billionaires.

The problem is, these people drag down everyone else into the abyss with them. See also British farmers who voted for brexit: they deserve to go bankrupt, but the outcome of their voting also drags down all the other farmers into financial turmoil.

They get bribed off with subsidies. The ones that suffer are the customers who have to pay more, for a lower-quality product.

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"I hope you find your empathy before you find your tragedy."
They didn't. They voted for their own doom because they wanted other people to be hurt. They deserve it.

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't because that means the rest of us are probably gonna be in a bad way too

I don't. They won't learn a lesson from this and they will loose the farms to corporate consolidation.

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Same. Get fucked 💜

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thing is that was the repub plan all along. They lose the farm and then they have to sell them to the big farming corporations.

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Me too. I drove by many of those "SAVE AMERICA, VOTE TRUMP" signs in front of farms. They fail and there will be a serious food shortage. So be it.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It gives large corporate farming entities like Monsanto to come in and buy out the farms for pennies on the dollar though. But I do get your sentiment

10 months ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

This. I’d rather have a bunch of family farms owned by pieces of shit than one giant megacorporation suing everyone because the wind blew their seeds around - and who funded this shit to begin with

10 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I think it part of the plan for the companies. If every farm land is owned by them, they can legit control a population completely. And if you are not low key freaking out then you will have a bitter pill in a few years

10 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They still will not have learned anything AND we'll all be SOL on a variety of goods.

10 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

I agree to a point, but losing small farms will only hurt us. Unfortunately it will be another year or two before we see the effect, I hope the red necks that voted for him have to pay $50 for a steak to cook at home and it gets them sick from the lack of food regulation.

I know a guy who is a staunch RepubliQan and lost his job because of a DOGE recommendation. I don't particularly feel sorry for him.

10 months ago | Likes 74 Dislikes 4

Yep I hope they all get every bit of the finding out they deserve.

10 months ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 4

It's just going to speed the taker of the whole supply chain by the megacorporations. Soon they will own everything, then they will move on to owning the labour as well.

10 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Not long after that we start wearing logos, naming our children after products and saying "brought to you by Carls Jr." for a paycheck to buy a latte.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Yeah me too except I'd also like to eat.

10 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Seriously, only the poor would suffer, but OP is cool with that.

10 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 8

The farms aren't disappearing. Well some might. In most cases when they go bankrupt someone else will take over in some form. Either by foreclosure or selling. Not sure it's a good thing, and the poor will suffer either way under Trump.

They got fucked last time but they still voted for him again.

10 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Seems like it was a consistent rise form before trump as well but apparently pandemics help farms stay alive. 2024 you can see it already start to increase again which is one of the first years were the pandemic is more of an afterthought

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I hope everything they voted for happens to them. I hope they suffer and never recover.

ThEY’ll Never BLAME TrUmP

Then they can die in poverty. As they deserve.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes. And I hope they spiral downward into inescapable despair. People need to pay for what they’ve done to this country.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sadly, once the farms go up for sale the oligarchs will snap them up.

10 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I do too, but the problem is the cognitive dissonance they hold. They'll lose everything and blame it on Biden, or Obama, or Woke or some other bullshit. They'll never fault their cult leader. They'll never fault themselves.

10 months ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 3

the ones raging right now about how awful those republicans who stole their medicaid are and how trump isnt going to let them get away with it. they are hopeless.

10 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Cognitive dissonance implies they understand that the policies will hurt farmers. They believe the policies are actually helping farmers. They're ignoring the evidence before their eyes. The media isn't helping with CNN running a bullshit headlines saying things like egg prices are down.

10 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Case in point; Trump carried ND with over 60% of the vote in 2016 and farmers lost billions because of his bullshit.
His margin INCREASED in 2024 and he’s doing it again, but this time he’s not bailing out the smaller farms.

I’m sad that people have such low critical thinking abilities.

10 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

my family voted against him. we had to sell part of the farm after his first term. we tried to recover under biden but it was impossible. was too much and it became untenable. we finalized the sale of the last parcel a few months ago. we knew it was over once he got reelected. it hurts so much selling my grandparents and parents farm. we lived there for three generations. at least my mom who died from covid didnt live to see it. fuck that pos. wish that one guy didnt miss.

10 months ago | Likes 161 Dislikes 5

I’m sorry for your loss, and hope you know this sentiment doesn’t apply to the decent folx out there.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sorry. So much sadness that they inflict, so much you and yours worked for.

10 months ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

More people should hear your story

10 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I'm so sorry. This is why I can't say I hope farmers who voted for the POS get what they voted for, because I know there are good people who suffer alongside them. It's absolutely horrifying what's happening in this country, and I wish I could offer anything other than solidarity.

10 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Who bought your farm? Was it corpo, bank or another farmer?

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

the first one a few miles down the road was bought by a mega farm corporation. the other with the house by a developer.

10 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

They want the big Corps to own everything, and they want us to be renters who give all of our money to them. Trump is stupid, but the guys making the actual decisions are devious.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"I do wish that." Also, vance has "plausible deniability" for his continued involvement in AcreTrader, which scoops up the land after the family farm fails. POSs in the house! The White House, that is. https://www.snopes.com/news/2024/10/08/jd-vance-acretrader/

Turning family farmers into sharecroppers, lovely. Got me with that pic. That doesn't sound like... oh.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

nobody missed, that was staged.

10 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

At first I was like, "we don't have any hard evidence. We can't be like them", but the more I think about it, the more it makes sense.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If it was real secret service would have covered him not let him wave a fist in the air while the shooter was supposedly still loose.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Blood on the eear was all wrong for a real wound, and the "wound" is straight up missing.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was going to say, I don’t want people to lose their world, but rather they learn from it. We need farmers. I’m sorry you lost your place.

10 months ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

There'll still be farmers, they'll just be owned by the same corporations who run your groceries. It just makes sense they control the entire supply chain. :)

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

i lost my place when my mom died. my family broke after that. i broke. im a living corpse now. mostly moving on impulse. only reason i have not offed myself is to look after my blind dad. pretty sure he only stayed alive to stop me. hes 74. he lives like a corpse too. he cant live much longer. and im sure i wont be long after i get him buried. sorry if im saying too much. i just feel like i want what these people have done to me and so many others, to be known. our pain. our sadness. our rage.

10 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

I’m sorry for your pain. I do firmly believe we are here for a reason. There is something we need to do, and we stay here until we complete that thing.

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think it's funny that they get mad when you say you hope they get everything they voted for.

10 months ago | Likes 239 Dislikes 4

I'm paraphrasing Steve Hofstetter here as I can't remember his exact wording but it's along the lines of

"I've started saying 'may you get everything in life you deserve'. If you're a good person that's such a sweet thing to hear. And if you're offended it's because you're an asshole"

10 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

And for those of us who strive to be kind but also have extremely low self esteem it's just kinda terrifying because we tend to believe we don't deserve good things.

Then say “Trump never won against a man”

10 months ago | Likes 52 Dislikes 1

Don't do this. All you'll find out is that they believe an alternate set of facts. You think you're shoving their noses in their own behavior, but they've been trained to believe that Trump won in 2020 and they'll be damned if you tell 'em any different.

You can't shame them because they have no shame and you can't educate them because they've already decided that facts have no place in their world. We need to stop pretending that maybe THIS time they'll see it's Trump hurting them.

10 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Fascists fundamentally don't believe that "Truth" is dictated by "Facts" but rather they believe the opposite. Reality is untrustworthy, constantly changing, apt to reappraisal at any moment. Truth is perfect and eternal. Unless, of course, the Leader says otherwise, at which point the new Truth will always have been the one, unassailable Truth. You cannot expose them to facts because they truly don't care, whenever reality contradicts Truth, it is reality that is wrong.

In terms of popular vote, he didn't beat Hillary.

10 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

So you mean, he never won against a man and lost to the only white woman he ran against?
