Going on a cruise to me would be like going to a shopping centre/mall built on a raft. A holiday with that many people, yuck.

Basically... Same in the US. Lots of ships registered to Latin American countries for this reason.

Under a US flag crew have access to recompense in the event of injury or negligence, hence many vessels operating under other countries.
