I‘m thinking of buying this game just for the traffic alone! I could care more about city management, but making traffic flow is satisfying!

Angers me because the right most merge should always be a right turn.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is the American routine of putting an exit on the off-ramp of another exit.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Can cut out the loops if it was bigger

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My stoned mind immediately said "that's a heart" before even looking at what it actually was..

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well it's not one of those cancerous circles so small a school bus can't fit on it so take a upvote.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why not just an off ramp on ramp roundabout have heaps of them in nz. Thats just to much crazy in that gif

My current in-game project is perfecting interchanges like we have in my city:

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Recalculating...

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Seems unnecessarily elaborate.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

no crossing streams of traffic

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Needs a roundabout

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Spaghetti Junction in Atlanta, look it up, it's horrible

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Seems unnecessarily complicated

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

City Skylines, a game Sim City 4 is suppose to be, but EA said "lawl why bother doing the work when shit sales just the same, idiots".

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

This is elaborate, but the Civil Engineers wouldn't approve

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

As a civil engineer I don’t approve

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

why not? looks pretty awesome to me

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's... It's beautiful...

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Looks so cool

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Give me the nice and easy cloverleaf any day

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

clover leafs suck. they have that area where people that want to take the second exit and people that are coming on need to swap locations

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Put it... Put it on the workshop....

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I have a love/hate relationship with the traffic patterns in this game.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Me too. I love how it works. I hate cause i cant get it to work.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

what does this achieve that a cloverleaf doesnt?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

no crossing line of traffic. fewer merges.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The cloverleaf forces a weave... this doesn't. Honestly I just made this for fun.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The exits should stay on the right side of the freeway. The far left should be for going straight

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's not how double trumpets work...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Then I don’t like double trumpets...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The only trumpet I'll upvote

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wasnatch?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"Trumpet" is a horrible slang term for the Trump collaborators in the US.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Never heard it. Wasnatch had the album cover with the french horn and...uh...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wot about this one https://youtu.be/WTWyosdkx44

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Traffic merging on left and right what could go wrong...

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Everything merges on the right, it's all perspective - when joining a highway isn't it merging on the left to you?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

i just see joins from the right a regular merges without the loss of a lane.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That currently exists in many instances. And if this exists it'd likely be in a highly trafficked area, where drivers are familiar w Lmerges

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is someone trying to cut half the ramps out of a double trumpet interchange, what they actually look like: https://imgur.com/GpUcR9k

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

All of the same roads are there just shifted. This is a textbook definition of a double trumpet. Why are you so mad at this?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think this would be a shit show if real. Looks neat though.

8 years ago | Likes 393 Dislikes 6

There's one almost identical to this very near my house, and it seems to work relatively well. (No major slowdowns)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think you mean to confusing for AMerica's to figure out, with the current failure of the education systems happening

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

These are like all over Austin

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is roughly the I-4 I-75 interchange in Tampa. Yes, it is a shit show.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

That one just gets backed up, but when it flows, it flows well compared to the post. I was at usf and it'd be bumper all the way to the exit

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Spaghetti Junction in Atlanta, and yes it is a shit show

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Anywhere people have to merge, it becomes a shitshow. In Atlanta, people have no clue how to zipper merge, they HAVE to be first!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

TBH it looks like Houston. Interstates and freeways were all built on top of each other haphazardly. I hate this fucking “city”

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This exist, but more functional. Cause this design is bad

8 years ago | Likes 94 Dislikes 1

This is similar to the intersection of HWY 2, Gateway Blvd, and HWY 216 in South Edmonton. But a bit different.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's this: https://imgur.com/GpUcR9k but for some reason they twisted it, and put opposing traffic on the same ramps

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Your double trumpet has opposing traffic on the same ramp. I just made them the same road because I'm too cheep for a barrier.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

By this design, you REALLY need to know where you're going

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

lnk pls

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

It's this: https://imgur.com/GpUcR9k but for some reason they twisted it, and put opposing traffic on the same ramps

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Keep the oncoming traffic out of the way. Keep in your lane. This should not fail in practice.

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 3

You underestimate the power of stupid

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well a round about just got removed where I live because it was too complicated

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Looks perfect for autonomous cars.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Too many instances of two way traffic. The interchange will have too many accidents, its not safe, shelf the idea

8 years ago | Likes 121 Dislikes 7

Yep this is what an actual double trumpet looks like: https://imgur.com/GpUcR9k they twisted it, and put opposing traffic on the same ramps

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You can remedy that w some barriers, rumble strips, rpms, etc

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Barrier walls although in decreased fatality crashes, they increase almost every other type

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's not safe, ye, but on Cities Skylines, that matters dick. They can literally clip into each other and recognize complex streets.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 5

I once had a years-long backup at a train dock in that game.Deleted the dock and it took 20 min IRL for all the piled up traffic to clear.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

My city has this beautiful interchange. /a/9HXGuYL

8 years ago | Likes 56 Dislikes 3

This is awesome. I would just keep turning around so I got to go on each one.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

https://imgur.com/bVEGMl6 I made it smaller

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Is it Cities skylines?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Looks like a Celtic Knot.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Looks like a turbine interchange

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My city just keeps adding random lanes every year

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ooooh where

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I-295 and JTB in Jacksonville FL

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Now if only 95 had a collosal one

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Lmao look at the spaghetti bowl that is 95/395 and 495 in northern Virginia. No one can navigate that shit properly.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 122 Dislikes 1

Oh my

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

As an American, I crashed just looking at this.

8 years ago | Likes 91 Dislikes 0

Shouldn't be browsing imgur as you drive

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

As a Brit who's been on that shit, no, fuck you, I won't be scarred again!

8 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 1

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I would go 10 miles out of my way to avoid this.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I went through that on my second day driving on the left. It wasn’t pretty.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I went round this when it snowed over last year... Screaming all the way.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Hamelhampsed , use to live there~

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I would be stuck in that for eternity.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What in the blue hell

8 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 0

It actually works pretty well for keeping traffic moving and it's fairly easy once you get past the crap crap crap what the hell phase

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's the magic roundabout. There's no proper way to navigate it, just go round until you get to your exit

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

My dad would love this. He's a traffic engineer and loves roundabouts.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's called Great Britain

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

'Tis a silly place.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What’s so great about it

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It was great once and the name stuck on it

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I wouldn't even know how to use that or get where I wanted to go. That is a damn nightmare!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you're unsure how to go through the middle, you can take the longer route around the outside until you reach your exit.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you can navigate a normal roundabout, you can navigate this one. Give way to the right.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Never driven on one. These things don't exist in my area in the midwest

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ah. I live in Britain. They're pretty simple. Give way to traffic already on the roundabout, when you're on it just turn off at your exit.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Workable. It needs barriers where there is two way traffic to avoid accidents. Also, the loops need to be enlarged to avoid slow downs.

8 years ago | Likes 193 Dislikes 3

Give me the nice and easy cloverleaf any day

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

people forget water on the stove and you think this workable?

8 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 6

I live in Dallas and the set up here is as confusing as any, yet, people manage. Clear labeling and instructions can minimize confusion.

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Montreal born and raised right here, all that road construction and the fact that people can get to and from the island shows anything works

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Speeds on those stretches would be below 80km/h. Perfectly reasonable to not have a dividing barrier.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Its part of the interstate standards to have a barrier or certain width of median, there may be exceptions but it would be out of necessity

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This is true, but this is a game and im a cheepskate

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think these are what we have in atl near the new stadium. I'm normally pretty accepting but they make me nervous as hell

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Only place I see 2-way on a sharp loop is a mountain highway where you're forced to. Idk why you would ever do it by choice

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's a guaranteed head-on colission accident hotspot.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also the merge-points would be a slowdown of their own. people in my area always manage to screw up even simple entrance ramps

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, even if there are three huge signs "you can switch lanes over the next 500m", they stop and wait to do that at the merge

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There are no merges on this interchange. Except to get on it. Just pick your lane and never change lanes

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

going from bottom right, to top right ... ahhh, i see what i thought was a lane divider was an arrow

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No. People are idiots. They will try to merge at the point of lane merge (instead of using the entire length), blocking traffic.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There are no merges on this interchange

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Coming back to this, I think I misunderstood your comment. Mine is opposite, but still about people not using the whole length to merge

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That is one of my biggest pet peeves! My local freeway has a certain junction that has a mile long on ramp, yet everyone thinks they need 1)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

To merge instantly, causing the other lane to slow down too much. I always merge into the on ramp lane and pass a ton of cars

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And they will flip you if you pass them by legally merging further ahead.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I just look forward so I've probably gotten the finger from many a driver lol don't look, don't care!
