Scott Hilburn lives in my home town. I haven't met him, but a buddy of mine know him.

#2 is going over my head

They're getting SPF 0 (not that it matters); they're gonna get sunburnt constantly.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Oh that's a 0, I thought it was the sun crossed out

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

As a very pale guy, I not only get #2, I actually have sunburn from looking at that comic sun too long.

SPF 0, they're going to crisp up and blacken in the eternal midday sun.

Thought it was a crossed out sun

I feel like i'm missing something in #3

"groundhog" as in a ground pig's meat, which is used for sausages. It just doesn't have the space there in the title, so it sounds (1)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

like it's made from the small rodent.

Ha! I see a lot of Gary Larson influence.

From Brownville Junction?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think it was Darby Conley who said that every cartoonist starts off copying Gary Larson

8 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

I see a blatant Gary Larson copy. I'm confident he's done that rhino horn joke.

Selcuk Erdem? I think

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

And that's what bothers me. Take influence from his style, but come up with your own jokes.

Was about to say that.

I’d like to see more about #5

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vts0CarB9Gc to get you started with a 50-year-old earworm

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wow. He lost a lot of aggression and gained a bit of jovial OCD by the 80s and my generation.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, he was like that in the 50's too. The "Mean Mr. Clean" was a temporary thing I think.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Lol. So like how so many characters went EXTREME in the 90s. Shouldn't have assumed that kind of thing was unique.

#1, a friend told me once that Captain America could lift Mjolnir if he needed to in a battle situation. It didn't work in the move because1

8 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 1

I assumed the same thing. He wasn't lifting it to protect anyone,it was just for fun/showing off. He lifted it twice in the comcis. Which1/2

One Was to help Thor in fight and the other time was to rally the Avengers. "Fear Itself" was the event he did it the 2nd time

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

The hammer sensed that he was trying to show off. So at that one point he wasn't worthy.

8 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 2

Technically, Thor was showing off.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

As I understand it, the worthiness is totally based on Odin's judgement of the person and situation, or am I wrong?

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Thor is pure ego, so even massive egotism cannot be a factor in "worthiness".

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, bragging and showing off were important parts of norse culture. Hence skalds, bards and any verse in Beowulf.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So can Squirrel Girl! Also, it's funny that Steve can and turned out to be super Hitlery.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yeah... Stevil was a result of Red Skull manipulating a living cosmic cube to alter reality and make Cap a Hydra agent.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Actually Steve CAN lift the hammer but didn't cuz Thor (drunkenly) promised that the one who did could rule Asgard in his place

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Did he drink the thing he gave Stan Lee? Because Midgard beer would be too light

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I understood it as he could lift the hammer, but he's such a good dude he just wanted Thor to have his moment, and he feigned faliure.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

I believed this too, more so because he actually thought you ruled Asgard if you wield it, but he stopped as to not take that from Thor

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

IMO this makes him more worthy
