For those of us in the middle.

Things I don't mind Paying taxes for:

1. Education http://thelearningcurve.pearson.com/index/index-ranking
2. Basic health care  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Health_Organization_ranking_of_health_systems_in_2000
3. Defense.
4. Safe and efficient infrastructure   https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flint_water_crisis

The Us vs. Them mentality is disgusting.  Let's be humans long enough to get something done instead of shutting down progress because the other political party came up with the idea.

Sure I disagree with both parties on multiple issues.  but there ought to be enough common ground  to get something done.

We could if the 'middle' would vote that way instead of picking a major party to side with

There are people who legitimately believe that taxes are a form of theft. There is no getting along with those. They need to be deported.

I hate to tell you this, but you're not in the middle if you believe in public funding for basic health care and public schools.

no, that's what the republicans want you to think. in reality those are pretty mainstream, as in that's what government exists for.

Middle is easier to say then Progressive on something and conservative on other things

100% agree, but i think that's the issue. The middle has eroded because of strident positions on certain topics

And unless you're superhawkish on defense, what you've listed is fairly basic center-left material.

defense not offense.

Then I'm going to say you and I are probably in about the same camp, and we're not in the current center of American thought.

yeah it is scary, people on all sides of me spend more time hating their political rivals than trying to move forward.
