Wow that hydraulic fluid spraying out everywhere was wild. Off to the repair shop with you!

"Do we put it in the ad that they need to have prior experience driving a motor vehicle?"
"Naw, man.. We're a race track that would look stupid"

Now we need a tow truck tow truck.

9 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Feels like a lot of planning error here

9 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

I was wondering what had happened in F2 that caused the F1 qualifying to be delayed...now we know!

9 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oops. I’m sure all that hydraulic fluid was good for the track.

Weird voice over talking about people forgetting what it's like to be 60 and becoming old photographs. Dafuq?

first look would have told me this was in British Columbia's Lower Mainland.

Was it already wrecked? I'm hoping it was already wrecked.

9 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

if it's on the back of a truck, it's likely been in an incident, though now any post-incident investigation is fucked up

9 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yeah, the arm jabbing the shit out of it, and the sign falling on the fin. I don't know how you're gonna scooby doo that mystery after that.

9 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

nailed it!

9 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

In the driver's defense, I didn't see a clearance limit posted on either side of that overhang

9 months ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 0

I feel this is probably on whoever hung that sign or hired the person to hand that sign. Maybe whoever hired the tow truck.

What color flag for that one

I'm not a poopologist but that's a very reddish brown, and red-poop is a medical emergency, so reddish poop is probably "talk to your GP" territory.

Oh, that must be Kimi's car. Didn't know this had happened.

9 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

It's not Kimi's car. It's a F2 car and happend before the F1 race.

9 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Ah, looked like a Mercedes car.

When I fuck up usually no one notices. Fucking up like this with a stadium full of people specifically watching you, holy hell.

9 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It was someone's job to design that gantry and probably someone else's job to ensure the vehicle fleet owned by the track operator conforms to the trackside furniture limits.

At least two people fucked up for sure, but neither of those people were driving the truck.

Still, it's always a matter of perception.

Happened during this weekends F1 GP in Austria, Red Bull ring.

9 months ago | Likes 247 Dislikes 0

Didn't this happen earlier this year once already, or was that a fever dream

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh sh*t - is this the "incident" in F2 practice that the commenters alluded to as delaying the F1?

9 months ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

No, the "incident" was a massive crash resulting in a flipped cars and a race halt. Google "Sami Meguetounif Austria 2025"

9 months ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 1

Damn scary! That's the same turn Franco Morbidelli crashed and nearly killed Valentino Rossi a few years ago.

9 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Is that also hydraulic fluid spraying out of the arm? That's gonna be a bitch for the track crew to clean.

9 months ago | Likes 117 Dislikes 1

also gotta figure out how to get the race car off the truck now as the crane is borked...

9 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Just throw some dry sweep on it

9 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Toss a match, wait 3 minutes, problem gone.

9 months ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

You see what it says on the side of the tow truck.

9 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

An oil down is an oil down. Track crew have lots of experience cleaning those up. This should be relatively easy since it was limited to a small location, not painted halfway around the track before the vehicle came to a halt.

9 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Nice catch, totally missed that.

9 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hydraulic fluid is not that hard to clean up I think compared to what they regularly deal with from exploded engines.

9 months ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 1

You know it’s oil, right?

9 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 11

You do know that all types of oil are not the same, right?

9 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Ya. But what would be more difficult to clean up than a petroleum based product, ie all the other engine stuff that you mentioned in saying hydraulic fluid would be easier to clean up?

9 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 5

Correct, plus if you use denatured alcohol directly on any oil spill leftovers, it breaks up the oil and makes it easier to clean up.

9 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

o00o0o that wing is fucked

9 months ago | Likes 132 Dislikes 1

Didn't even notice it clip the spoiler. That's a lot of damage

9 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And will for sure have an insane repair bill for whatever reason.

9 months ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Maybe the whole car.

9 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

It was already fucked by the looks of it

9 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Probably costs more than that demolished billboard too.

9 months ago | Likes 55 Dislikes 0

It is just a formula 2 car and those are mass produced because all teams use the same car. So won't be too bad I think. Formula 2 wrecking a lot of cars is pretty normal.

9 months ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

If this price breakdown is remotely close to accurate...ouch https://carnews.nl/en/motorsport/how-much-does-a-formula-2-car-cost/
