My beagle is 5 years old and today I just brought him home from the doctor after getting his last eye removed. He was born with his eyes larger then his eye sockets and he developed glaucoma about a year-and-a-half ago. The 1st eye was removed last year and we thought he would be able to see for another couple of years but 6 days ago the medications stop working and his eye turned completely white. The doctor said he was in a lot of pain because his eye has grown so large that it was time to remove it. He's on the sofa recovering right now and we're going to do our best to help him adjust.

I don't normally post here but he could definitely use your prayers and love today.

Thanks everyone.

Poor puppers! My brothers dog went completely blind in a few weeks from SARDs but got along fine with time and adjustments! Best of luck!

That doggo is gonna be just fine. Ya know why? Because dogs are the greatest creatures on earth. All he needs is love and food.

That's so hard. I had my cocker's first eye removed and then her second one went two weeks later. Hope your pupper adjusts well.

Take good care of him, make him feel loved and he'll be ok :-)

Your dog needs a seeing eye cat, or that loopy metal thing that goes around the pupper's head.

I have a blind boy too now. He adjusted very quickly. Use 4 different scents to help him find doors etc. Works a treat

I'm so sorry. I have beagle too, they are darlings. They live for sniffing and food so he will still be happy.

Getting his last eye removed is quite the ambiguous statement given the things I have seen

I know you must be very upset, but when you and your dog are ready, consider this:

He's a dog. They're like the "enjoying life" benchmarks, I have high hopes. :D

all the best op we're proud of you!

From what we've seen and read he should adjust within a week or so

He'll still enjoy lying in the Sun, and feeling it's warmth.

Animals are resilient. One of my horses lost all vision in 1 eye and most in another, and still kept on as usual. My thoughts are with you!!
