Well... now it should! That fucking slaps!

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It then becomes ska

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Then it would be actual music

3 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

That's really impressive double tonguing

Rivers of Nihil used a saxophone in some of their songs on their album Where Owls Know My Name. VERY unexpected for metal but AMAZING.

I have blisters on my fingers

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I miss this sort of thing in pop songs. Bring back the trumpet and sax solos!

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Everything's better with a trumpet solo!

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That is…exactly my tempo. +1

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It sounds like the Big bad Wolf in "Three little Bops". One of my favorites!

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That, is smooth.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm stealing that solo!!!

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wouldn't that make it Ska?

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Soooo much better! I like it much more than the foul-mouthed pink thang.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Turns out most noise is improved by playing actual music over it

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A suppressor for trumpets?

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And suddenly it's music!

3 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

Watched part of the original video. It was good till it wasn't.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Exactly my though.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I am here for the return of brass bands to popular music

3 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

Or just any actual instruments

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Have you heard of Brass Against? They've been really dropping some gold on us recently

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Just gonna say...

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He's got mad skills trumpet is hard

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I wonder who came up with the thingamabob that they put into the front of the trumpet to make it do that sound.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

If only we had a way today to ask and answer such questions on our own.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

That would be detrimental to the idea of the social internet.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Arnold Mute (1770-1969).

Nah, actually Anton Joseph Hampel.

Went from gansta to Billy Joel in the blink of an eye.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I want parts 2-69

3 years ago | Likes 70 Dislikes 0

WDYM don't need them

3 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

Adding sax solos to songs that need them.

3 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

That song def needs that solo though. A lot of modern music would benefit from at least one bit where someone actually plays an instrument

3 years ago | Likes 66 Dislikes 1

I regret getting an alto sax and not the bigger, blacker tenor saxophone. Least I can play sax man on it

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Damn. That was fucking really good.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So much music could be improved with proper instruments instead of just electronic generated noise/music.

3 years ago | Likes 644 Dislikes 55

Same for Movies. Big Band/Orchestra > synthetic electric

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

On one hand, Brass Against. On the other hand, Ska.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Also technically every instrument recording you hear is an electronically generated conversion of an analog sound wave.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

But then people would stop using soundcloud

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

more correctly: they could be improved with proper musicality. The instruments ain't the problem - listen to Skrillex on piano & see

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

nice word salad dumbass

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There's a place for the electronic stuff, but like anything, it can be over done

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Came here to say this. I appreciate digital sounds (well composed 8-bit music for example) but the electronic background junk gets old.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You can be an artist or let your computer be the artist

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

The first few seconds reminded me of why I keep most videos here on mute. I bounce super hard off of generic pop music.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah but that's cost money and the artists that can afford it say 'fuck you ' and the ones that can't, well. . . Can't

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

All music is electronically generated. We play the instruments and we are driven by electrical impulse.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 10

If I may be pedantic for a moment, we function off of the propagation of electrochemical reactions across neuronal membranes. Much slower.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Just for fun, I'm gonna be pedantic too. As soon as the sound wave hits the diaphragm of a microphone, it's all electronically generated!

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I meeeean, technically a synthesiser is a proper instrument. Everything's an instrument. Just like everything constitutes art.

3 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 2

When you start to get into the "I mean, technically" stuff it means you agree with their sentiment but don't want to acknowledge it

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

So… no guitars with amplifiers? Everything has to be analog and acoustic, no effects like reverb or delay etc. sounds boring as hell.

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 4

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

That's not what I meant at all. I don't know that I'd want to listen to pure acoustic music all the time.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

or voice. Been listening to some playlists recently...why is evry single singer run through bad autotune these days? Even thos that can sing

3 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 4

Most people can't hear autotune or know what it is. Not saying you didn't find a tPain playlist, but still.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Was this a top 40 play list

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It was a "this might become hot shit" playlist from Spotify, more alternative oriented.

It was used as an effect not to correct missed pitches.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Without having listened to the track you're talking about, it's pretty common to lose range as you age.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A lot of older bands have had to rekey their songs, or change octaves when they tour long enough.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sometimes, the hard clipping on autotune (which is what most people think of being able to hear) is a style choice, though.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Honestly there are piano samples for keyboard that you couldn't distinguish from the real deal. It's about the arrangements and musicality.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The sound is that of a piano, then, and not electronic generated music.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also the samples are often from the real deal. Pianist will sound the same on a grand or a midi. But midi is easier to edit than a wav. file

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

3 years ago | Likes 193 Dislikes 22

Sure is. Music is up to individual taste.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Underrated artist

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There's enough space in the world for both but no room for your stunted opinions.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

...okay? I'm sorry you disagree with my opinion. You're welcome to your own.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

I know what you mean, and I agree with you. Let the haters hate

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 5

I mean, if that's someone's jam, cool. Not my cup of tea.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You are the one hating on entire genres of music though.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I don't think that's what he meant. I think he meant that it'll be better with some trumpet solos. But yeah I'll be the hater, I don't care

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

You could just listen to bands that include instrumentalists. There are loads of them out there I promise

3 years ago | Likes 53 Dislikes 5

Streetlight Manifesto is a good one

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Intervals, Polyphia and The Symphony Crack Orchestra to name a few of my favs

David Maxim Micic, Plini

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Plini ?

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Trouble is that it's much harder to get 5 musicians together than it is to make your own on the computer.

3 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Yeap, it's easier to produce, so I get why it's so prevalent. But it lacks character, IMO.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah. Once artists are recognised for their producing they should get a band

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You do realize that electronically generated noise can technically emulate any instrument, right?

3 years ago | Likes 108 Dislikes 36

Sure do. But that misses my point. What's in popular music isn't emulating instruments, normally.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Instrument? Yeah. Human emotion and technique? Not quite. (At least not yet.)

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

bit they never do a good job cause quality fails when up against mass algorithm abuse

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah but you can really tell the difference between a stimulated orchestra and a real one

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

i suppose instead of a real girlfriend you could use some sort of femulator ?

3 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 2

It's called a Fleshlight.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

A generated instrument will never sound natural. Machines are too perfect, whereas people playing have minor imperfections here and there -

3 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

- which add a surprising amount of colour to music. Same for singing with and without autotune. Autotune sounds unnatural, too flawless, -

3 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

- and that is actually a detriment when you wish to convey emotion. Real instruments also have a fuller and more flowing sound.

3 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

You're right, but maybe we'll still be able to fully simulate the intricacies of real instruments one day in the far future.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

There's no way it'll never be perfected

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, i mean I’m using vital to make synths for every instrument and uuuuh, the biggest difficulty is getting it to sound organic

3 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

I find this is because of the arrangement use. I play piano and have a tendency to write all parts as if it's in that voicing. Sythn have

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sampled bass slaps and harmonics etc. But you have to be very aware of where that would naturally occur from being a player of the bass.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Granted it'd be much easier to just pick up a bass and play it if you're any good at the bass.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Like you miss that lifelike feel with certain instruments, or technical inaccuracies like frets on a guitar

3 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

Guitars are NOT in tune. So weird

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I tune mine 2 hertz above the normal tuning so it gets a warmer tone

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

nowadays it is possible to reproduce instruments digitally. It all depends on who is playing it
