I've had some great and spiritual experiences w/ psilocybin and LSD in the past, never had Peyote tho. I've heard it's quite intense.

Holy moly!!! That is outrageously gorgeous!!!

I am a fan of mescaline. Your use is likely more religious than mine, but I feel as though I peak behind the cosmic curtain… so.. close?
I view it as a medicine that remedies the effects of generational trauma. It allows us to embrace our identity again. That’s just how I feel
SerenePrincess013
That bead work is kind-boggling.
CarlottaVonSprockett
Damn that beadwork is amazing.
Varenvel
uuuuuuuuuuu pretty (presuming OP made it , you can never know with all these bots and reposts:F)

I’m a big fan of your work.
lurkmoarjono

My husband makes these fans, they take an enormous amount of work. Love the beaded grandfather on the handle!

Brilliant work! Do you have any images/videos of the process? And how do you source the materials? Did you collect the feathers yourself?
My dad requested these feathers from the National Eagle Repository. Most of the other materials I bought from local native businesses.
Cool! I had no idea there *was* a National Eagle Repository. Thanks for the info.
ProjectilePolly
That is fucking beautiful, cousin

Osiyo! Dtohitsu!? As an okie with my “foreign language” high school credit being Cherokee, I see you and I appreciate you.

Paiute here! My great great grandma actually acted in the original Buffalo Bill!
funkmefunkyou
Stories? That's pretty cool!
She unfortunately passed away before me or my parents were ever born, so we don't have many stories about her. It's also been hard to find/1
But her name was Tatzumbia Dupea, and she was credited for acting in both Buffalo Bill and Across the Wide Missouri. She was the oldest /2
Hexxxxxxxxx
Kickapoo, I think.
GingerLaird
J.B. is that you?
No..my legal name does start with a j though. I was adopted when I was 8.
AdelineThatsMeYo
It's gorgeous. Can you explain what it's used for? I know what peyote is but I thought you smoked it.
StarShineSurreal
You're thinking of opium
NotmyUsername2000
I'd love to know too.
Iloveanonymityandilovebeingnoticed
That beadwork technique is also called peyote. Peyote stitch, specifically. Easy to do, if you know how.
I’ve never seen anyone smoke peyote in my whole life, it’s always been eaten. This fan is used during peyote ceremonies at certain times.
Eednam
Is the peyote tea thing just from movies and stuff or is that legitimate?
Yes you’re able to make tea as well. That’s very common and easier to keep down for most people.
It’s a spiritual tool/instrument to help our prayers and songs to manifest into something physical so we can approach someone in a good way.
Thank you! Also I don't know anything about peyote other than that it has psychotropic abilities.
daveisamonster
Hey Hansel, haven't you been smoking peyote...
uglykittybun
Thank you for the explanation. This cleared away some misinformation/misinterpretations I had, and I'm assuming for others as well.
spookyactionatadistance
What? Who smokes peyote...
lanthanidehighway
white kids at burning man, probably.
But why? It's meant to be ingested, like mushrooms
As the comment said… white people. That’s not racist btw. Just a very precise way of understanding appropriation.
The better association is the ignorant. Unfortunately that directly correlates with white people (which I am)
