Unluckily, most Western nations have to rely on the US for military tech, be it missiles for planes, anti-air defense, helicopters, jets... Europe still has to build up the necessary military capabilities, and those take time and coordination. Trump came at the worst time.

Yes, but also no, I hate the man and I hope he dies very soon, but had he not been here, the EU would have continued to rely on those US techs instead of developing their own, this whole situation has caused EU countries to get back in gear on their own development so that they can sustain their own securities and will ultimately be a benefit for our future.

I doubt it because the US doesn't need Russian permission for it's illegal acts. The Russians are in no position to stop anyone from doing anything. The US is also not able to "give" Russia Ukraine.
