As soon as I heard it squeak it's threat level dropped significantly. Lions don't roar when they hunt and if you hear a rattlesnake it's telling you to get back. Little guy doesn't want a fight, just to be left alone.
I mean the internet has kinda exaggerated how big they get. About 2-3 times that size but nothing like alot of the fake pictures that circulate. A little bigger than a huntsman spider on average.
In spiders it's called stridulation, it's a way they can make sounds by rubbing body parts together. It's like rubbing a stick against a chalkboard. There's a few videos of camel spiders (solifugae, also called sun spiders) doing this. It does seem like they boosted the hell out of it for effect, but it's a Spidey sound
See normally I'd agree with you, but that's a camel spider, they live in the desert get around 15 cm large and they like to chase people. To be fair they only chase their shadow and don't attack people unless you are stuid, but a bigass spider running at you at 15 km/h can scare the bejesus out of you.
That's not technically true that they like to chase people. What actually happens is they chase the people's shadows. What happens is when they see shadow, they quickly scuttle towards it. Now imagine turning around and seeing this thing behind you, or even worse, this thing charging towards you (if your shadow is in front). So you panic, and start running, which makes your shadow move, which makes them 'chase' you'. https://www.livescience.com/40025-camel-spiders-facts.html
2nd commenter disagreed with the 1st commenter that said they just want to be left alone; By saying they chase you
Whether they added on the fact they chase shadows rather. not people in the latter, doesn't change the fact 2nd commenter made a purposely incorrect statement to begin with
Chasing shadows does not contradict the truth that they want to be left alone.
The ones in Afghanistan didn't get as large, definitely not as intimidating. We had one that lives under our smoking porch and at the bugs that clustered by the lamp. He was pretty chill, never bothered us.
invadeboiss
Oh they squeak too? Even fucking worse.

Chasing shadows does not contradict the truth that they want to be left alone.
They are two separate facts and both are true
And they don't chase people at all, just shadows.

I know we did but I don't remember what it was anymore. It was probably something a bit racist tbh, that was definitely our sense of humor

If that spider didn't have a name and rank I'll be real dissapointed.
