He has a foregrip and isn't even using it? What an asshole.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

I hated the fore grips that they issued so I never used it, but I didn't want it stolen or lost so I put it on my rifle.

Marines don't need em they'll just respawn.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Maybe he didn't have time to grab it?

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Gonna have to report that to OSHA.

If I remember this is actually a posed photo shoot but a stolen valor guy.

Not Safe For War

My buddy was in this Marine's unit when this photo was taken and apparently he actually did get in a ton of shit for not having any PPE on

10 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

His military career won't be fun after that, it's hard enough to make rank in the Marines as is.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

God forbid someone sees you without your name tape. Lol

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"Yes, Sergeant, I have my PPE"

Mother of God. Soft shoes.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

i dont know, but would a helmet really help you if you got shot in the head with by a 7.62?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's less about protection and more about uniformity, though modern helmets *can* stop a 7.62.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Yes, a modern helmet can stop 7.62, although it's beyond the offical rating: http://oi64.tinypic.com/fyo6th.jpg

Doubtful when when it's comes down to it 0.00001% chance is still a chance. Depends on a lot of variables

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

A glancing shot maybe. But no helmet even a glance will penetrate

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Even in recent years, they're more for shrapnel and concussions

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Depends on the velocity of the bullet by the time it reaches him. Sources wikipedia in reply.

PASGT is obsolete, no first-line combat troops use it anymore, he woudl, depending on the timeframe, have a LWH or ECH.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have no clue about any of this, I just googled. I would guess the newer ones are even better though. So I'd rather wear than not wear it.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

According to this the helmet is a threat level IIIA which is RIGHT below III which will protect you against 7.62.
