Please ignore my shitty crops. Just need to get the word out there.
I don't live in Houston or know much about this group that needs help but I couldn't not post something here to try and get some help for these babies.

I mean keep taking pictures and posting it to the internet. Shit like this is a scam

Sad but the people turning away were there to save people; if I had a boat full of dogs and I saw people on a roof - guess what, dogs out.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The dogs are being rescued. Per the rescue's FB page 10m ago.

8 years ago | Likes 86 Dislikes 0

Is this some sorta weakass scam or just a really bad shitpost?

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 20

go to their website (as in the post), no scam as far as I can see.

In the arms of the angel....

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 7

Noooo nonononono, don't you dare start that.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

1/2 Preparing for the tropical cyclone on northern Australia this year, residents were told to evacuate, with evacuations centres set up,

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2/2.. found that many people refused cause pets werent allowed, government will now allow people to bring pets to special designated areas

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You all have to understand, reports from the Red Cross earlier yesterday said that they're getting shot at by looters and desperate people.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

This being said, I doubt THEY are the only ones experiencing this crap so... it must be difficult for people to continue their efforts.

I wish I were within 3 hours, I'd take a flood pup, but I'm over in Ms.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Just tell the local Chinese restaurant.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 20

People > animals. Your downvotes won't charge the reality of the situation during an emergency.

8 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 22

One is an invasive apex predator that regularly destroys its own environment. The other is a product of those apex predators. There is 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 6

...no right answer. No moral high ground. Situation sucks.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 6

This is a call for help in case someone can provide it. No need to be a dick.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

It's my opinion as to why the boats turned away when they heard it was dogs. If that's "being a dick" so be it.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Never understood why people think that is fact. The animals are under our care and are fucked without us, the people have some capacity

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 4

to help their bloody selves.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

not all of them

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ok. Children, elderly, dogs, then the rest.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

I don't understand these downvotes. I love animals but if someone I loved died because the rescuers were busy with animals I'd be devastated

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I anticipated the downvotes because people on Imgur have a much different worldview than I do and often don't appreciate hard truths.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Glad to see I'm not alone down here. I totally wish for these animals to be saved, but I COMPLETELY get rescuers focusing on people first.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 4

Yea, but they apparently they first didn't let civilians help, which is stupid. If there's people with boats and they volunteer, let them.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah, huge difference between not helping and actively harming. I'd put a knife through anyone seriously trying to stop me from saving pets.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

so why not donate the $3,000 to that group?

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 12

Are u seriously criticizing op for asking for help just incase a nearby neighbor has a boat that can go? U never know. Asking for help is ok

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 5

Did you even read the post?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 9

Me? I don't have $3,000

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 14

no, the @op is offering a $3000 reward for the return of their dog. did you even read it?

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 13

Lol what? The instagram is offering 3k if a boat goes and saves the dogs.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Cuz 3k doesn't make a boat magically appear during a flood if no one is near or people are in trouble. U gotta already have a boat dude.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 3

All I'm saying is FB OP is asking for donations and at the same time offering a huge reward for their dog. Why not donate for all the dogs

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 8

bc this is a fkn scam

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 8

You must not have understood the message. The kennel owners were forcibly removed before they could get all the animals out.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Jesus fucking Christ. Just let them out. They can swim. they're dogs for christ's sake. People are paramount right now.

8 years ago | Likes 92 Dislikes 25

Dogs are people too.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 4

I hate it but the cold logic is that it might be better for them to be put down rather than run loose. Loose packs of dogs can go feral.

Bullshit dude. Here in the south, people always let their animals go before a storm. It's oftentimes the best chance they've got. Idiot.

8 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 16

I live in the south and I'd never do that ROFL

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 10

Because you don't own a ton of animals that you cannot evacuate with and you'd prefer to let them drown?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

I also know people with horses that would evacuate them as well.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

You're absolutely right. I own two dogs and that's all. If needed I can and would most definitely take them with me.

It's pretty common for dogs to not be allowed in the shelters. Too many poorly-socialized ones, they freak and start fighting.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You're going to take all of your dogs and chickens and donkeys and cows and horses? You're special.

I order the time of their birth and the time of their death. In between those times, I have a duty.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 5

Word on the vine is that they've been rescued. Source: I used to live in Houston and so FB wants me to "check in" and I see the posts there.

8 years ago | Likes 93 Dislikes 2

Thanks for the good news.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh god. Thank you for the update, I was sitting here practically hyperventilating just now when I saw this.

8 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 1

Can you confirm this?

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Just checked the rescue's FB page and found an update 10m ago.

8 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

Thanks. Can I ask for one more update this morning on the remaining animals?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

1/ They posted an update at 7am saying there were more animals left but more boats were going to head there. It sounds like they should get

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2/ them all. I think the bigger issue they're running into now is lack of supplies for all the animals.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Disasters stretch resources thin. The emergency personnel are choosing to let these dogs go so they can save more people.

8 years ago | Likes 156 Dislikes 22

people first.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

They're letting civilians with boats help now. You never know if someone nearby can help. There's no harm in asking for help.

8 years ago | Likes 65 Dislikes 2

You need to remember who would choose an animal over a human, they're usually batshit crazy.

8 years ago | Likes 63 Dislikes 83

i'd choose those dogs over you just cause this comment.

8 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 20

Humans are animals

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 6

That's a majority of Americans

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 8

I'd choose a dog over a human because humans are selfish beings.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 11

Worse than that, some humans are known to be actively malicious even for no personal gain. Humans are trash.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Please dear god I hope you don't have a job where you're responsible for anyone's safety or wellbeing

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also, what if someone felt that way and passed you by? You might feel a bit differently then

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've never met a dog that hated me for being born. Can't say the same about humans.

8 years ago | Likes 55 Dislikes 18

Okay, consider whether you'd save your dog or your only child, then tell me if you feel differently...

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I don't have a dog or child, but now you're talking specifics instead of generalities. Obviously it would depend on personal relationships.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

You would save a random dog over a random person? Or are you saying you'd save your dog over a random person?
