My (probably) temporary Antenna setup

Mag-mount Nagoya ut-72 I bought on Amazon

The cable fits snugly between the body and the rear window. Unfortunately I couldn't get the cable under the trim but its fairly snug.

This is the less than ideal passage into the trunk. The cable isn't crushed by the trunk lid on the edge but I might cut a small slot in this weather stripping. from there it runs around the trunk behind the side carpeting .

The coax runs into the cabin in the fold of the fold down seats.

The cable runs beside the center console and gives me enough slack to bring the baofeng up to my mouth.

I can't transmit yet but its picking up local repeaters nice and strong.

You put way to much energy into that for it to be temporary

Mount it like a unicorn horn on your hood. hit those radio waves dead on.

There's a chance water will migrate in next to the cable, cutting the gasket will have the same effect.
