I pay for them, and obtain them from their proper source; e.g., GTA V has its own launcher. You don't need a third-party library to play.

I obtain them from their proper source, be it a disk or a digital copy from the publisher. You don't need a third-party launcher to play.

The last PC game I purchased was GTA V. Prior to that, it was Skyrim. And then before that, it was Fallout 3. None of them required Steam.
