If you're a salaried developer, you should know that if you see 1's and 0's in a text post, you're seeing 0x30's and 0x31's, not raw binary.

If it's interpreted, it's not raw. 1's and 0's are a pure 1:1 representation of raw bits. ASCII is what? 1:8?

It's just different base. Almost no device would output it as 1's and 0's, it's usually always represented in hexadecimal. ASCII is base256.
