#1 Wild guess, every time you use it it adds an opaque mark.

2 is misleading. Culturally Japanese people take bath, not shower, often for a long time. Hence the need for waterproof phone.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I can already see what I’m erasing before I even put the eraser to the paper

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't think any cell phone maker produce water proof phones strictly because the Japanese use them in the showers... This is so stupid.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

#2
Did you know that apostrophes are not used for pluralizing "phone" nor are they used to pluralize any other word in the English language.

3 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

They developed waterproof phones because they use them in the shower or they use them in the shower because they developed waterproof phones

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Japanese take BATH, and people are often bored during baths, so they wanna use their waterproof phones.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Now all we need is transparent Aluminum.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Thar be wales, cap'n!

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Garbage post.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But am I still able to poke the eraser with my pen?

3 years ago | Likes 58 Dislikes 0

Consequences clearly haven't been enough to stop your poor decision making ability before, and nothing has changed.

A WITCH!!!

3 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

How about see-through highlighters?

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It’ll never happen

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

More than one person has been electrocuted while charging their phone and taking a bath.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The owner's manual for my Nokia phone says to wash it with the dishes if it gets dirty.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

#2 - all of the higher end smartphones (iPhone, Galaxy S-series, Pixel, OnePlus) have very high water resistance and are fine in the shower.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Quite a few other brands make "rugged" phones (like Nokia) which are incredibly water resistent.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Did you know you have no idea how to use apostrophes?

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

DiD yOU KNow? This post is bot produced trash because it is terrible. In Japan.

3 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 2

#2 is complete hogwash. I lived in Japan for 7 years. They are the same phones everyone has.

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

#2 was true about 10 years ago. Before iPhone became waterproof essentially.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sort of. When I bought mine (2014), I was specifically asked if I wanted one that was waterproof, and the clerk was surprised I didn't care.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Did you know all caps and random font color switches lower readability dramatically?

3 years ago | Likes 181 Dislikes 2

Also terrible grammar

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I do now.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They forgot to use different typefaces for almost every word to get the hattrick?

3 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

They forgot the final touch, a disclaimer in an excessively small serif font telling dyslexic people to go fuck themselves

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Did you know: you don't need an apostrophe to pluralize a word?

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I erase things because I DON'T want to see them.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You radical, you

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Phones in the shower are the best

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'd be lucky to see it. Hell, with out my glasses I can't see the shower most of the time I'm in there...

Long ago I had a job doing mechanical & electrical drawings. Special pencils & pens, plastic film not paper, plastic erasers. Transparent

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

erasers would actually have been useful when trying to be precise in what was being removed.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The second "fact" is pure and utter bullshit. Therefore I don't even care to research the first.

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

It's not.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Youngers just can't get off them cellular telephones!

Schmidt ?

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I recall hearing it's actually about the prevalence of bathhouses

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I didn't even know bathhouses were still that prevalent, especially amongst "youngsters" these days.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I miss having a waterproof phone.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Celephones

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Just jackin it

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think even in the west, a lot of people seem to use Bluetooth speakers in the shower.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But you can't watch porn on a Bluetooth speaker.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

What kind of amateur can't get off with just sound

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

i was unaware that first one involving erasers was a problem.

3 years ago | Likes 552 Dislikes 1

Perhaps it was less of a problem and more of a cool thing they found was surprisingly simple to do

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What, you didn't know that an obscure company on the other side of the world made a product with a completely unnecessary feature? Shame.

3 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 3

If you're writing from right to left and are right handed, erasing covers up what you just wrote unlike writing left to right would.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

in art it's be nice for fine erasure work. I think if it's actually used graphite would get on the eraser and then it's not transparent

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

It really only seems useful for artists who need to erase a very precise thing, but then it's in standard eraser block form so it'll round.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If I wanna do precise I use a knife to cut it in shape.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Maybe to accommodate different writing directions for the Japanese language

3 years ago | Likes 87 Dislikes 5

Just erase with your other hand.

3 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 11

Or get it right the first time.

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 6

Probably also useful for left hand dominant people.

3 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 1

Will you still see through the eraser after it's been used? All grey and smudgy?

3 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Better than shiny and chrome.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

yeah i thought the point of erasers was to not see your mistake anymore

3 years ago | Likes 51 Dislikes 0

That's what mirrors are for.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So that’s why my dad keeps giving me these

3 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

?1

3 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

It’d be cool if they develop non-smearing but erasable graphite for left handers.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You want the harder graphite blends they sell to artists, H instead of B. The mark isn't as dark, but it's much harder to smear.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This, a thousand times this

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Or you could just CONFORM

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

CONFORRRRRMMMMMMM!

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I already met the world half way by learning to use scissors and computer mice right handed! WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT FROM ME??

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I have a moist fart and my android has moisture detected in the charging port the rest of the day... still better than apple.

3 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 9

I paid like 12 bucks and got a shower case that my phones goes into and then attaches to the wall. Keeps water off and touchscreestill works

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you want to use your phone in the shower just put it in a ziploc bag. I can only think of two reasons to use phone in the shower.

3 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I have just stood there and browsed imgur till the water gets cold stoned before. So a waterproof case is necessary ROFL

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If you think it's just the sensor glitching, on Samsung, mine at least, you can restart and plug it in when the Samsung logo comes up and >

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

it'll start charging.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Pretty sure Japan has the same "mobile" phones as the rest of us now.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Now, yeah. Sony used to make waterproof phones some years before it caught on US/EU because people in Japan really wanted waterproof phones.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They still exist today, but they're expensive and bulky, so not really popular. Lots of water resistant phones out there though

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well... not exactly. A lot of people, even young ones are still using simple flip phones. There are a lot of misconceptions about ... 1/2

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2/2 ... Japan and "advanced technology". Their focus is quite different.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm aware of the flip phones being common, but I don't think the ones using those are the people who need their phone in the shower

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

fYI as someone who fixes phones and computers as a hobby, that your phone is "waterproof" doesn't mean you won't short it's life by 1/

3 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

If water is able to cause internal corrosion, that phone isn’t certified waterproof.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You're right, others and I use the wrong term, because no phone Is waterproof they're water-resistant, and other thing I forgot to mention1/

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Some are, my Doogee is.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is that even Apple mentions that the water resistance they have decreases with wear 2/2

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Putting it under water regularly and btw your iPhone's warranty doesn't cover water damage. The contact points and metal frames will 2/2

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Corrode (on the inside) and usually the waterproofness doesn't include sea water, soapy water or other liquids like alcohol. Tldr; Don't 3/3

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Put your phone under water because even if it doesn't fail immediately, you'll shorten its lifspan 4/4

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I would wager Japanese phones are higher quality with greater protections than those products designed to be sold in Western, markets.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm sure they're not Japan is mostly an iPhone country and those are made in the same countries any other phone it's made and for the same 1
