These animals suffer a great deal, they're malnurrished and mistreated. I can't even start to imagine the pain, stress and the level of suffering the animals at these zoos are at, it is simply heartbreaking.
Im hoping to spread the word of this and for people to sign these petitions and maybe, hopefully, someone that have the means to help these poor animals to a better life.

In the video linked above we clearly see these bears in pain a distress, begging for whatever food they can get, it is ever so heartbreaking watching this kind of cruelty is a thing and it is something that needs to be addressed! I really hope that the Imgur community can help with these things in some way, please do not let this die in usersub! For more info, please refer to the links to the petitions! stay safe imgurians and lets take care of our beautiful world.

I can't watch these videos too sad

From Texas ... I hear we have a few of these "exotic animals "

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How about the suffering of the very animals you eat? Please look into the standard practices of factory farms.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I'm pretty sure signing a petition from a western country will have zero effect on a completely different country.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

solid post. We need more of this here

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Has Change.org literally ever changed anything?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

All zoos and aquariums shut them down world wide

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

@OP Do you own a dog...

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Poor things

9 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 1

this is what I want to do to people who mistreat animals. Also I don't think there should be zoos anymore

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

The entire country is a fucking cess pit. It really is the asshole of the world.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Most asian countries are,not counting japan/south korea.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm desensitised to seeing humans treating each other like shit, but each time I see animals in such a state, it literally crushes my soul.

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

I signed! Slacktivisim for the win! Now I can feel better about myself without any of that pesky 'work'.

1/2 Signing some petition probably has no value in whatever country the zoo is in, it would be like signing a petition to make china follow

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Copy right laws

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Want to help? Buy the zoo, employ locals, feed them properly, improve their pens to be habitats, begin a program to reach out to other zoos>

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

>begin for-profit breeding of rare species for reintroduction into the wild, promote wildlife refuge areas, and maybe, just maybe, run a >

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

>photo safari. Alternatively, alert PETA so they can kill the animals in a sting operation.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

These people should be shot and fed to the animals.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

Indonesians aren't going to listen to us

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This is fucking bullshit...what the fuck is wrong with this zoo! Why are they doing this!

9 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 2

There are perhaps hundreds of thousands of humans in worse condition than these animals.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 5

Two zoos mentioned here, both links under the pic are for different petitions!

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Because it's a shitzu.

9 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 2

You shud get more upvotes

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I'm sore the president of will feel motivated by all the philanthropist Americans who signed a petition

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

no, most likely not, what i would hope for is someone with the means to actually be able to take action to save these poor animals

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Are there only two animals as in the photos provided or are there more targets you'd like someone to take care of?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Animals pictured are from two different zoo, if you read in the petitions description there are thousands of animals, both links are differe

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

thousands, eh? That's a lot of wetwork.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Don't be a dumb shit and get your photo taken with the chained, sedated tiger when you go to Thailand.

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 2

or ride the elephants that they literally have to torture (or break) before they let people ride on them

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

How is this even economically feasible? Who wants to pay the zoo to have the saddest day of their lives, and how can they afford to keep 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

buying more animals all the time since they abuse the ones they have so many die?

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

You do realize that America has no authority over other countries right? A petition here will have jack fucking shit effect over there.

9 years ago | Likes 142 Dislikes 5

I agree, as much as I support them putting an end to it, it's really up to Southeast Asia to regulate and end this poor animal welfare

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

I've been to eastern China a few times. They have no wild animals, I think because they were all eaten during the cultural revolution.

Money. Money is the problem.

Appropriate, and it's an Office Space gif. Might have to make another account to give you the +2 you deserve

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

I've signed it

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

i didn't, since i'm not a fucking idiot

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Last time I signed a petition on that site, they put my on some list and now I get thousands of annoying emails, so didn't sign this time

9 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 3

Yeah, I am gonna start a website called nochange that has one petition, and it is to make change•org stop their tactics of manipulation.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You do know there is a way to block unwanted emails right? Lookup how to do it it's a useful thing, sorry if this may've sounded pretentious

9 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 11

Yeah, I block them by not signing petitions that go nowhere.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Sure but asking for help by tugging on heartstrings and reciprocating maliciously is a sign of alt motives. These things have happened to me

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 5

Just put a fake email

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

But why? That petition will make no difference. Do you actually think it will be presented to the head of that country?? This is stupid

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's all a sham

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Change.org is an American thing that hasn't effected change in America. Why do you think it will in Indonesia? But fuck these zoo owners.

9 years ago | Likes 278 Dislikes 6

Well not before they buy me dinner first..

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In Russia people sign petitions on change.org for Russian problems, and it does work! I.e. officials deal with those petitions.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It might if they thought it would impact on tourist dollars.

9 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 3

But it wont

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

Someone call PETA. They have the inclination & ability to make their life a living hell.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Not with that attitude

No, effected.

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 2

"affected change" doesn't make any sense. "Affect" means "to change". "Effect" means "To create".

9 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 3

http://www.dictionary.com/browse/affect?s=t Both of you are correct.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 5

We aren't both correct. Either "effect change" is correct (which it is) or it isn't

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

The difference is a slight nuance, but both are logical grammatically.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 12

He explicitly said that it was incorrect to use the word "effect" and that I meant "affect". I did not and "effect" was explicitly correct.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

how about we just not have zoos at all

9 years ago | Likes 48 Dislikes 27

Thank you!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Because they do more good than harm

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Then where would we store all the wildlife

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Zoos do a great deal of benefit to the environment and wildlife. They're places of science, not just animal shows like a circus.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Because zoos do incredible things for conservation efforts. Well decent zoos at least

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

*underfunded zoos or zoos that aren't made for the general wellbeing of animals

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Irrational comment. How many species of animals would be extinct if zoos hadn't stepped in?

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

Because you live in a fairy land. Zoos aren't there for our entertainment. They actually act as an outreach and bring in funds.

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

hey man dont kid yourself either. They are absolutely for our entertainment, but yes they have taken on conservation programs & help.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

Dont forget its taken over 100 yrs for zoos to throw them a ball and call it an 'enrichment device' whilst patting themelves on the back

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

Zoo breeding programs brought the Mexican wolf from the brink of extinction.

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

Mexica wolf? Made me think in Leo de Caprio with a margarita and a ranchero hat

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Zoos and their scientists do far more good than bad.

9 years ago | Likes 66 Dislikes 4

And their breeding programs.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

No, they don't.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

I realize that, but doesn't it seem just a little wrong to keep animals captive just for people to take their kids to see?

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 35

Nonsense. You know full well that good zoos are centers of research and conservation.

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

When the day comes that we fund animal research, conservation and breeding programs without the use of zoos, then I will agree with you. /1

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Until then the money that visitors pay is necessary. /2

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Zoo's use visitors to fund the widespread preservation and animal research they do.

9 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 1

Good zoos, good zoos also take good care of their animals. This one doesnt

9 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 2

Many species would be extinct if it wasn't for Zoos

9 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 1

its an alternative way for scientists to get funding to research the animals properly, i'd say, tho most don't have proper capacities for it

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

the particular zoo in the post probably can't afford to feed its animals bc nobody wants to come see them in such conditions

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

indeed, what i've seen happening is that some places remove entry fees so that they will still get visitors, which is really bad and sad

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1
