Confession: never saw the movie, only clips when I was a kid. This scene was one of them. It's so ingrained for me, like Pavlov's dogs, I have the urge to head bang to the song at that point. Every. Time.
Benson Boone performing Bohemian Rhapsody at Coachella was interesting. Divisive online opinions in where it was good or not... and so-so crowd engagement (at least not super loud crowd response in videos of the performance). Made me think the audience was too young for a) truly appreciating Queen and b) for Wayne's World to be a formative part of their cultural connection to BR.
I used to live in a world where my goverment was competent. Where Freddie Mercury still existed, and John Lennon, and Betty White. And my parents. And Val Kilmer. A world where Jane Fonda didnt have cancer, and Jack Nicholson didnt have Alzheimer's. With Robin Williams. And my best friend hadn't died of cancer.
Every kid in my school had that song on their Walkman that year. I still remember riding the bus and at least half a dozen kids were listening to it and you could tell where each was in the song by mouth movements.

Being the only expat to speak up, Meyers gets an upvote free pass this spring.

Queen is one of the bands that my kids and I all love, I recently showed my oldest this clip to explain Queen's resurgence. An absolute classic.

Didn’t Mike meyers bitch and moan about shooting that scene just to have it become one of the best scenes in cinema history?
bitemark
They wanted to use a different song, he threatened to quit if they did. So yeah, sort of, but only because it wouldn't be as epic https://au.rollingstone.com/movies/movie-features/the-oral-history-of-the-waynes-world-bohemian-rhapsody-scene-37178/
