With his girlfriend, Alida.

Skarsgard was deliberately sequestered from the rest of the cast to ensure that they would be as scared of him as possible. This broke his heart, since one of his favorite aspects of filmmaking is fraternizing with the cast and crew.

The first time the background child actors saw him, the director, Andy Muschietti, opened a door behind which Skarsgard stood in full costume and makeup, and he began terrorizing them in character. he is 6'4", so he towered over them.

The children ranged in age from 7 to 13 years old. Some laughed at first, some drew back from him, and one boy of 7 immediately started shaking when he saw Pennywise. Skarsgard said later, "I could tell that kid had coulrophobia, even if he didn't know it, so I focused on him for about 10 minutes."

Skarsgard drooled, snotted, growled, crabwalked backward, spoke in Swedish, spoke Swedish backward, and laughed maniacally in the children's faces for 10 minutes.

By the time he was done, every child in the room was crying, and the boy who was shaking had pissed himself.

He decided that if his performance could make a young child piss himself, he should reproduce it exactly in the film, and the above gif is what he did to the 7 year old boy.

Bill Skarsgard's "Pennywise" smile may actually be creepier without the makeup.

He did not come out of character around them until the film wrapped, whereupon he immediately wiped his makeup off with a wash cloth, took his costume top off and apologized to all of them, assuring them that it was all just an act and he was never going to hurt any of them.

He stated that he had nightmares every single night because he went to sleep in his trailer still in character and dreamed of himself actually eating the other actors.

He said that the kid who played Eddie acted so frightened he got concerned and then snapped right out of it as soon as they ended the scene.

This movie was amazing but the "facts" of this are Bullshit.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

yeah, that's not allowed to happen

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

If that's the way he likes fraternising with the colleagues no wonder the director kept him away, these are trying times for 'fraternizing'

8 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 7

lol this is such bullshit, my god.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

He said in an interview that the kids took it very well and were very professional. He was worried about scaring them but it went well.

8 years ago | Likes 84 Dislikes 0

So in other words. This post is... Fake news.

8 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

I believe that he was isolated during the beginning of filming to get a better reaction from the kids, but that other stuff is b.s.

I worked on the set next to It, and it was the weirdest thing as I drove home one day and he crossed the road right in front of my car.

Film or such events never transpired.

I like how you can see the exact moment where his heart drops out his ass.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is one of the few remakes that is just as good as the original. Peter skarsgard is flawless!

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

This post may be lies, but his name is in fact Bill. Unless you're going for Peter Sarsgaard as some kind of joke.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Shit, you right

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

People that let their children be in films like that should be ashamed. Exposing a 7 year old to psychological torture (pissed himself!!!)

8 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 45

Let's try this with teachers....oh wait...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

can't tell if you're serious.

Good looking dude. But now he's a fuxkin clown

8 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 1

Pretty sure with how awesome his performance was, he'll get other roles, most of them probably as villains though.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You should see him in Hemlock Grove, hot as hell, but again playing a really twisted character.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But his acting is so bad in that

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"By the time he was done, every child in the room was crying, and the boy who was shaking had pissed himself." Yeah, that didn't happen

8 years ago | Likes 1233 Dislikes 13

But it's a funny post on the internet! It must be true!

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Yeah if any of this was true he and the film crew would be getting a lot of shit. That would be incredibly unprofessional filmmaking

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Common misconception.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Completely agree, in his interviews he talks about the opposite reactions the kids had.

8 years ago | Likes 122 Dislikes 0

Yeah wasn't the kid in the gif even quoted as saying "I love what you're doing" after a take? I'm sure I saw this in an interview

8 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

I don't understand how this post made it to fp.

8 years ago | Likes 76 Dislikes 0

Imgur likes to pretend to be smart

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

(1) When Skarsgard finished one scene he asked one of the kids, 'are you alright?', and the kid actually complemented his performance.

8 years ago | Likes 66 Dislikes 2

(2) He was mega surprised how fearless and professional the child actors were.

8 years ago | Likes 53 Dislikes 1

From my understanding, children in horror are pretty protected so they don't get too freaked out or scared anyway

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Actually really funny when he explains it: https://youtu.be/0eu3qpDFhjo?t=232

Very little of this post is true. Source: Bill Skarsgard in interviews and not some silly gossip magazine.

8 years ago | Likes 547 Dislikes 0

That would literally be child abuse.

8 years ago | Likes 376 Dislikes 9

Not saying Hollywood has an issue with child abuse... but solving it isn't up there in terms of priorities it seems x)

8 years ago | Likes 57 Dislikes 4

That's nothing, many movies throughout the decades where stained with physical and psychological abuse to gain effect.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 5

It's 2017, not 1950.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

It's an efficient way to make the movie seem more genuine.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Yeah, also pushing the actor to cross their limits, like in "Sphere" or "The Abyss".

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So? This means that suddenly actors will be treated like snowflakes? Look around you, this been done throughout the centuries.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Like Kubrick fucked up Shelley Duvall for 'The Shining'.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Not to mention Judy Garland during the Wizard of Oz filming
