Please don't hold it against us that he's wearing a UCONN hoodie. If you want to hold anything against us, it should be the fact that the annual athletic department revenues are $55,000,000 and expenses are $93,000,000 (which includes $8.3 million to the men's basketball coach, $3.34 million to the women's basketball coach, and $2.5 million to the men's football coach) But, the agricultural school makes pretty good ice cream.
I'm of the opinion that sports are valuable and while we ought to try and be responsible with money, it's ok that not everything makes a profit. But good lord that's egregious. Silver lining is you're not spending $860m on a football stadium like Northwestern... right?
um because he was completely full of shit and conservatives flock to it like flies? bad faith debate tactics through and through, much like a high caliber slug through soft throat tissue.
Though it's also genuinely a meme to photoshop his face a bit smaller so the stated difficulty might be in discerning whether it's a real or meme photo given that his face looks comically small either way.
That was his Schtick, he would say a fib thats believable with supreme confidence. The problem was, that he was thoroughly well funded by religious organizations at first, then able to fund himself through the sheep he was able to recruit. Another Charlie Kirk will come along, the opposition just doesn't have the organizational funding that zealots do.
Its easy to recruit zealots faith if you blindside the people they hate with a professional stance as a debator with a team of writers against unprepared blindsided opponents that debate with them in good faith. College campuses are the best location to do this for the right as they are the minority for good reason in these situations. There is not really an equivilant reverse situation where a professional left debator debates a "good faith" unprepared opponnet. Let alone a prepared one.
It also helped him that he was a 30 something "debating" with students barely out of high school, usually around things he already had plenty of talking points (not necessarily facts) prepared for. When he engaged actual experts, like the Cambridge ones, he did NOT fare well.
The problem is that most Americans are too stupid to know whether or not what he's saying is true, so they assume his confidence is proof of him being right. Hell, I consider myself more informed than the average American, but I didn't know which countries in the Middle East allowed women to vote, so in that instance, i wouldn't be able to effectively counter his bullshit.
This is one aspect that people ignore about these "debate me" people. They just spew so much shit with little to know evidence (and the evidence they do use is cherry picked as fuck or misinterpreted or not verifiable) that it's easy for them to "destroy" all these college students who don't know all these random bit off the top of their head. And they also talk so fast that, even if you do know the info, you get shit overload
“How is it any different than a *professor* talking to you?” Gee, seems like you kinda answered your own question there, Chuck. Or did he have a secret PhD none of us knew about?
As if it's difficult to comprehend the difference in relationship between "practiced bullshit artist gishgalloping you as an unprepared, unwitting participant in his media circus" and "seasoned professional with expertise on a topic imparting knowledge to an open mind on said topic."
yeah, that was a huge part of his success. He asked questions that didnt relate to the subject at all, and were always deflections. Then he would ramble on, pushing more and more to the side of the subject until the subject is lost, and he gets to make a false point that is no longer defendable. Its why none of his "debates" are moderated like professional debates are. He is a professional Strawman and Goalpost debater.
I'm not a Kirk fan, but that girl's question makes no sense to me. As far as I can tell, he wasn't forcing students to debate him, anyone could walk up and talk to him.
Being under prepared for a debate you voluntarily partake in is kinda on you!
It has to do with experience not just being unprepared. It takes years of work that they haven't been alive long enough to achieve in order to debate effectively. Just like a student in medschool doesn't just get trusted to perform surgery because they are in school. Yet you can find plenty of students that destroyed him but it doesn't fit his narrative so obviously he only shares the videos of people who he makes look bad.
Fair enough, but that still doesn't address my point; you're still voluntarily walking into that debate despite your lack of experience. She should've called him out for only sharing videos where he wins the debate like you mentioned.
Going by every 18-22 year old i have met everyone of them fuly believed they would win. They did the arguments in their heads and convinced themselves that they are different. Not much different then people who believe they can win in the casino or at game shows.
What you're missing is the sinister nature and approach Kirk takes. Kirk is not engaging in good faith, nor is he engaging in debate. He's not talking to his debate opponent, he is speaking to the camera. Worse, he engages in multiple logical fallacies, and uses tactics that would get him thrown off a high school freshman debate team. The kids try to engage in good faith and challenge him, but they're here to play chess while he's there to be a prowrestler.
In that case though, he should've been called out explicitly for his slimy tactics
I guess what bothered me is the way the question was formulated; It made it seem that her problem was him debating the college kids at all.
It should've been "why are you baiting college kids into what seems like a good faith debate, only to switch to Slimy tactics, and 'rhetorical smoke and mirrors' to make them look bad, then proceed to only share debates where you look good online"

Did you see the comment from some useless twat who made himself look flat retarded by posting something completely unrelated to anything on the post?

Isn’t the comment responding to an ugly portrait of Charlie Kirk? Seems like anything related to Charlie Kirk would be an acceptable response.

Why the downvotes? Are some people assuming SJW means liberal like conservatives assume fascism is referring to them ?

Most likely. The "lady" was white with blomde dreads and the sides of her head shaved. That's usually a liberal look.

He was funded by multi-millionaires. TPUSA is by no means a religious organization. It exists to recruit young voters for the Republican party.
