She looks like Tesco made an AI and asked it to draw a picture of Marlyn Monroe.

Why? She’s a popular singer, i get it. What amazing things has she done for humanity? Please stop idolizing the wrong things. How about Narges Mohammadi or Katalin Karikó or maybe Jon Fosse? I don’t understand anymore.

Time's person of the year has nothing to do with any of that. It's just the person who has been in the news the most. Hell, Saddam Husain has won it.

Yeah, i get it. Let’s sell magazines by endorsing the current most popular person for whatever reason.

That's what the Nobel Prize is for. Time POTY is literally a just popularity contest and has nothing to do with contributions to humanity

I would like to think that a magazine touting itself as an important source for news and commentary would seize opportunities to popularize those people who truly contribute to humanity. And if I’m being downvoted by “Swifties”, I’ll consider it an honor.

It's a little more than that. I'm not a fan of her music, but by looking at her as just a popular performer, you are really selling her short. She is also a shrewd business person, standing up against the monopolies and shittyness of the music industry while putting on the single biggest and most profitable music tour of all time. She has also been a political activist using her influence to support women's rights. She has been in the news a lot in the last year for more than just her music.
