Op makes a Political post about a politician and asks us not to make it political.

7 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 7

Reagan and Obama both had really good comic instincts. The latter didn't improvise as many jokes but his delivery timing was excellent.

7 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 6

need to play with sound to get it, guys.

7 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

i think most people were waiting for him to duck or osmething

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The man was in shoot-em-up movies AND a shooter. He knew the difference between a gunshot and an effect.

7 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 2

Fair point

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I didn't care for his politics, but damn, he was one smooth mother fucker.

7 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 4

The problem with american presidents. They're all either just decent people or comedians.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 9

I like his voice, never really heard it before except for iconic wall speech

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It amazes me to think his movies are now old enough that people "never really heard" his voice. Then again you might not be from the US :)

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Didn't even stutter

7 years ago | Likes 788 Dislikes 6

quick-wit is a sign of intelligence - also being an actor for so long probably helped.

‘Political’

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Sorry, not english native

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He always interrupted The Muppet Show to give speeches about the Soviets or Space or whatever.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That's so Reagan!

7 years ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 3

It's the past he can't remember!

7 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 1

God I miss respectable politicians so much...

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

I thought he was going to dive for cover; That’s way cooler.

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Glad you enjoy

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm at the office, so sound is off. And as a result I literally have no idea when in the footage the pop happens. I'm impressed.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

if you're curious it happens just before the last time he looks up. when he looks up he goes "missed me" in a dry voice and laughter erupts.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ah, thank you.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Now its 98 Red Balloons

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

This comment needs more green.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

98 more balloons and they'd have had a problem.

7 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 0

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

But were they red balloons?

7 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

AUF IHREM WEG ZUM HORIZONT

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Not gonna lie, I couldn't remember the English lyrics either.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

99 luft balloons

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

When he got shot he told his wife 'Honey, I forgot to duck'. Jack Dempsey line, but still cool.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

He was a good president for the time foreign policy wise, I just wish republicans would stop hailing him as some hero of economics. 1/2

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 4

Because he had no clue what he was doing in that department, among other issues 2/2

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

Yeah the 1980s sure were a total economic basket case. Oh wait, no they weren't...

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

How's that trickle down economics working for you? oh wait...

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The average American now has greater purchasing power than at any point in history?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Only if we pretend inflation doesn't exist, people can't even afford housing and education note.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I miss voting for that man...

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Man it's almost like he diffused a tense and questionably appropriate moment with humor omg maybe people should try it sometime

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

This and Teddy Roosevelt’s reactions are the best

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That is one calm reaction

7 years ago | Likes 1569 Dislikes 3

To be fair, he was pretty senile by this point.

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 9

He was a great man. He saved 77 people as a lifeguard growing up in Illinois.

7 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

I was watching on silent for too long.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Now here is a proper human reaction to balloons ?noredirect

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Fuckin’ fast too. Damn.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was waiting for a flinch. I only turned on the sound when I watched it through twice and couldn't pinpoint the moment.

7 years ago | Likes 274 Dislikes 0

I was pretty sure at what point it was but I had the experiance of living with someone who has suffered trauma so I know the look.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I shared this experience

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I hope you didn't copyright your actions, as I replicated them without alteration.

7 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

I'm afraid you owe me money now.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Ditto. I thought he was going to duck, or jump, or something. Regardless of politics, this is a president I can respect.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Exactly what I did. Even the the twice part :o

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Me too!

7 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

Me three!

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Especially after being shot two months ago!

7 years ago | Likes 57 Dislikes 0

While he didn't see combat he did train in the military. For a lot of the military it's ingrained to look for shooter & find cover.

7 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

We also had to gauge the distance of the sound & see of there were casualties. Flinching only happened if the noise was right in your ear.

7 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

And this is why drill sergeants scream so much.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

He was so quick witted back then. It was a shame when he started sliding.

7 years ago | Likes 748 Dislikes 9

he loved to clean the pool, so in order to keep track of him when he was really slipping, his agents would throw leaves in the pool

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I mean, he was a terrible president. But, hey, charisma.

7 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 27

Would you say his wit started to...trickle down?

7 years ago | Likes 86 Dislikes 10

I c wut u did ther

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I want to upvote this and downvote this at the same time

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I wish I had ever been so quick witted sober. Now I'm 22 and it feels like it's too late

7 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Your quick witting adventures are just beginning, you just wait until you're 30, you'll have a lot more tools at your disposal.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

22? Too late? Awww that's so cute

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I'm 29 and I still have my moments. You'll be just fine.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

reminds me when prince charles got rushed on stage and shot at twice and he just casually adjusted his cufflinks- circa 1994

Pre-Port Arthur Australia was weird, haha.

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

guess it was his watch, not cufflinks. heh. anyway, i heard shots fired close by once and i hid behind a truck til the ambulance left. haha

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Well that is one embarrassed attempted assassin.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"Would you awfully mind FUCKING NOT, please?"

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Man, no one panicked. They all just sort of watched. Where did those shots go? I thought people behind him would have scattered.

7 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

It was a starter pistol, not a live firearm.

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Apparently they were blanks.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The Queen shoots REAL ones so I'd guess he'd know from the sound he was in no danger.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

She and Elvis would have got along famously.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Honestly!

7 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

it's a big insult in many parts of the world.

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Two for flinchin

7 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 6

Bush remains the shoe dodging champion of the world. He would NEVER flinch.

7 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

What flinch? That was ducking a shoe that was thrown

7 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

That was a joke

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

When Bush lied the nation into attacking Iraq. Bush created an expensive disaster still burning hot today. Your grandkids will pay for it.

7 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 74

Downvote for talking politics. Gtfo

That fuse was lit long before that particular Bush took office...

7 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 1

But Bush the Patrician knew what a quagmire attacking Iraq would be. Bush the coward stupidly rushed in, and lost it all.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Technically, the US didn't light the fuse. But we sure did make sure it stayed lit.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Hey, c’mon, no politics. Please.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm not arguing politics, just pointing out: https://youtu.be/eFTLKWw542g
