HAPPY NEWS EDIT: http://www.fox23.com/news/sand-springs-army-recruiter-disappears/462887256

Jason was found! I appreciate all the support and I can now retire this account! Back to lurking for funnies I go!

"Please pray for my brother, Jason Sixsmith. He lives in Sand Springs, OK and is in the US Army, working as a recruiter. He has been "missing" for 4 days and our family is very worried. He has not been home (despite having a dog), and his car has not been seen. Please pray also for his daughter, my parents, his father, and the extended family who are all distraught at his disappearance. A missing persons report has been filed with the police. Prayers for his safe return!!"

This is a facebook post by his sister. Jason is one of the most genuinely kind hearted people I had the chance to serve alongside. I wish I could do more but PLEASE help me get the word out and bring this soldier home!

Long time lurker and finally made an account simply to post this, please IMGUR, help us find him!

FP Edit: I thank you all for getting this little information I have out. Currently trying to get a phone number for a contact at the police department the missing persons report was made at as well as a vehicle description.

He is a distance runner and his family has the idea that he went for a run after work Thursday and never made it back. His family was alerted when he failed to show up at all on Friday. So sorry for the lack of information but I'm trying. I am trying but also don't want to be pushy with what his family is going through right now.

My only "FP edit request" would be to share this post or photos with anyone you know in Oklahoma. Thank you all, I've seen IMGUR do plenty of amazing things, hoping for one more.

Edit: Silver Honda Accord ~2009 with running stickers on it. Not much but will continue to update.

I will do the opposite of my name just this time.

Oh dang. I'm in OKC and haven't heard anything about it. Hope he turns up.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No one leaves their babies alone.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Did you call his command? No one goes missing in the Army for four days and a command not investigate. Check with them

9 years ago | Likes 149 Dislikes 0

They have been to his house 4 times last word I received. Another recruiter went and retrieved his dog till further word.

9 years ago | Likes 88 Dislikes 0

I'm from Sapulpa, just south of Sand Springs. I'll keep an eye out.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thank you sir. If you could inform and locals you know, especially outdoorsy people, it would mean a lot.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Shared to Facebook. I live in Norman.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Thank you! The goal is to get his face to as many as possible in OK. Any hikers/trail runners are particularly helpful.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

or you know, make flyers instead

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Which God would you like me to pray to? The least busy one who is more likely to answer?

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 38

As a agnostic, I do not care. Getting the word out is my only concern.

9 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 2

Why are neckbeards such assholes?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Is his car also missing? Where was he known to run?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

His car is missing as well. He didn't have family locally, so I doubt I can get trail names. We were stationed in TX together, so 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I know nothing of his usual activity in OK.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Hey, have you tried putting anything up on USAWTFM? They're good about spreading word.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Another battle buddy is currently working that. Hopefully sometime tomorrow that will be up.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Good deal. Best of luck.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Have you sent this to WTF Army moments? They will post this on their Facebook page and they do great work at helping military families.

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Another battle buddy is working on that now. Hopefully tomorrow we can get it up by them. Thanks.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I passed it along to my family, who are spread out all over. I hope he is found.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I live in Broken Arrow.... will keep an eye out.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thank you very much! If you know anyone locally and could possibly link them to this. Please do!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I live in Tulsa and will keep an eye out. Most likely I will be useless to help though.

9 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

Jason was found! Thank you for your support! He was found being cared for at a Tulsa hospital from the looks of it!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Same here.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Same here.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Anything is helpful. One more set of eyes can't hurt. Thank you!

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Woah. Sand Springs is my home town! Sharing to Facebook. Hope you find him.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thank you. The more local knowledge the better. Hikers and runners will hopefully recognize him.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is he bipolar? I've know of a few who just leave randomly for weeks and never tell a soul.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Not to my knowledge. Always was a responsible level headed NCO. I won't pretend people don't have secrets though...

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Well, I just hope he's found safe and soon!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He indeed was! Link posted!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sweet! I'm very glad to hear this!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We'll send it to the front page.

9 years ago | Likes 90 Dislikes 7

Thankfully you were correct, I appreciate you and all the others for getting this out there.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

At least it will be more useful than praying.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 5

No we won't

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 104

Well, guess you are right, there aren't many upvotes.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 5

Oh yes we will.

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 4

Thank you! Jason was found and the news article was added!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Great news, glad they found him, hope he's doing ok.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hope so too. His sister hadn't received much more information than he was found. Hoping for further good news!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

@OP he may have gotten lost after walking off a trail(this happens) #1 should be finding his car if that's missing though. Any place it 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

can go off road and crash and be hidden? sometimes in the woods or down cliffs etc. sometimes people are only 20 feet from the road but 2/3

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

well hidden. You should also check for family/work issues. Local guy in florida vanished, never showed up at his store. Took a surprise 3/4

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

vacation out of state and told nobody... he only found out later when he left and had cell service that there was a state wide search...

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This situation is what I am hoping for. His car hasn't been found as of yet and he enjoys the trails. The family situation was good when 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

We were stationed together but since we both moved states, and he is out of state of family, I can't be positive at this point.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I just can't know never having been there. This is a fear of mine knowing that this could be the situation... Really sucks to think about.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It might help if you describe the car and its plates so people can watch for it.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Got the car description. Will update with plate number as I can get it.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Right now I've been trying to get in touch with his family, but I don't know any of them personally and I haven't been successful. :(

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

You don't know your brothers family personally?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

Brother as I served beside him in the Army.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Oh nevermind I understand

@op see comment

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thanks. Updated the post last night when as soon as I found out. :)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm glad he's ok.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Grammar and things are dumb.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well I assume he is.... it's not specific as to why he was in the hospital.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We are still not sure. We had a battle buddy trying to drive from TX to visit but the hospital won't confirm if he is visitors are 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Possible at the time. Concerning, but who knows. Blaming alcohol for my grammar. :/

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

https://www.facebook.com/jason.sixsmith1 nothing about him being missing on his Facebook page...

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 8

I set mine so people cant post on my page. You cant prevent them from tagging you, but it still wont show on your page

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

http://imgur.com/X7xErBL I assure I have no reason to lie about this. I assume it has to do with his privacy settings. I am not sure.

9 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 1

Cool, figured I'd make sure. Are the police involved yet? If so, what's their contact info if anyone knows anything?

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

All I know is that a police report was filed from the post. I will get the information and add it as soon as I do.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Is that a thing? Do missing persons often update their Facebook pages to let people know they are missing?

9 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

Hahaha! I couldn't have said that better.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Uh, no, I'd expect some of their friends to maybe post on their wall asking if they're okay.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Many people hide wall posts so that only their friends (or sometimes only them) can see it. I suspect that's what's going on here.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't know how Facebook works.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Bitch, neither do you.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

?1.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

A Google search doesn't show anything about him being missing...

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 5

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It depends on whether or not a news site picks up the story or even hears about it. When my dad went missing, searches just led to imgur.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

In a matter of hours, it will be on Google and probably this image will be #1

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

All I can say is that his family posted it on Facebook and I wanted to get it as far as possible. Posted a screenshot of the Facebook post.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Do you know how Google works?

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

He has a bunch of social media accounts, but no posts referencing him by anyone else/ nothing posted on his pages about him being missing.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Facebook is not indexed by Google you shmuck

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

No, the posts aren't, but from that search I can go look at his account… On Facebook and everywhere else. Do you know how hyperlinks work?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

No, if he does not have a public profile you wouldn't see anything on his page about him being missing. Just whatever is still set to public

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How insensitive do you have to be to pull this shit jeez
