Was an opiate addict for 2/3 years. Feels great being sober for two weeks now. Wish I slept more than 5-6 hours tho. Waking up at 5am sucks when you work 5pm-12am

REM sleep music may help and exercise during the day. Also a bath an hour before bed apparently helps you sleep more soundly

Sometimes it's even just about minutes.

I found opiates easier to quit than booze. Everyone's different. I'm proud of you OP, keep living! :)

One pill a day at a time is awesome. Good work

Have faith in yourself. You're on the right path. Even if you slide backwards just keep moving forward.

Well done, mate.

You didn't answer the question, why do they say one day at a time ?
imaginaryPeppers
Its easier handle the cravings if its just for a few hours. If you start thinking a lifetime without the things you enjoy it gets hard.

I've heard lifting weights is a good way to deal with the sleep thing. Probably also a good way to keep your mind off your addiction.
OscarTGrouch
I use to lift weights a lot of highschool. Need to get back into it
Muttmutt
When you sleep do you dream about how to get more pills?
OscarTGrouch
No.
Muttmutt
That's a good thing, I've talked with several people who can fight the thoughts during the day but dream about it at night. Good for you!
