Don't be afraid of spiders! Spiders are your friends! Sorry, that was confusing wording. All your friends are secretly spiders! Better.

I read all of these in Cecil's magnificent voice

#3 resonates within me on a level that not even the doctor at my birth could understand.

Follow your heart. It's in the Styrofoam cooler in the back of the pickup ahead. Hurry. You haven't much time.

Hello listeners.

Sadly I only have but one upvote to give

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This seems like it could be run by Lemony Snicket.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Every one came in Cecil's soothing tones.

I read most of the Twitter ones in the Proverb Lady’s voice

Stay out of the dog park.

Dogs are not allowed in the dog park. People are not allowed in the dog park.

I heard the John Peters, you know - the farmer, liked this post. In fact John Peters, you know - the farmer, favorited it.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

It was also enjoyed by John Peter - you know, the pharmacist.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I just bought the book, it arrives Friday, favoriting for later.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I always love the mix of pure hope and extisential dread I feel with nightvale

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Saw the logo and up voted and favorited, this is an amazing podcast

For some reason "the past is gone and cannot harm you anymore" is strangely reassuring?

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Oh, super. I’ve considered it as a tattoo

Hiram McDaniels for mayor. He's literally a 3600lb 5-headed dragon. Who cares?

8 years ago | Likes 100 Dislikes 2

President Juan Santos stumping for Hiram McDaniels is just the best thing.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Dunkelzahn. Dunkelzahn cares.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Me and the faceless old woman who secretly lives in your house, that's who! Hiram McDaniels is in bed with the corn lobbyists!

8 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

I was just trying some of John Peters — You know, the farmer’s imaginary corn the other day. It was delicious.

Two of my favorites:

Wednesday has been cancelled due to a scheduling conflict

8 years ago | Likes 54 Dislikes 0

And book will be declared unknowable on Thursday

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I tried listening to this awhile ago but the first couple episodes were just announcements. Does it ever turn into a story?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The announcements gradually become a story. It's a slow burn, but it's totally worth it

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It weaves stories through the medium of community radio

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

That's a lot of posts. Almost like reading a book. What are you, a librarian?

8 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 2

I'm a librarian and my mom makes this joke all the time

i lot of these cheer me up and make me feel less displaced in the universe than i think they are supposed to.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I think that tone is what Cecil brings to it

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have no idea what night vale is and at this point I'm too afraid to ask.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Welcome to Night Vale...a wonderfully weird podcast

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

God this is great. What’s the insta link?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I uh, I don’t have an insta. Not super hip these days.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't know if they have insta or not, but the podcast can be found on IOS and I think most other platforms

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Oh yeah jeez, what they said. It’s a podcast called Welcome to Night Vale, and it makes every drive exponentially more weird and enjoyable

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Google music podcast has all the episodes. But man the tone changes so quickly.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Please explain, I listened to some of the first ones way back in the day.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

ALL HAIL THE GLOW CLOUD.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I've never really gotten into Night Vale. Where should I start if I wanted to? Do I have to start at episode 1?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Start at the beginning. Everything builds on and references previous episodes. Then inside jokes later on make it even better

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Episode 1 is when it's good. It starts coming to pieces as it gets too far along and into itself.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Here: https://beta.prx.org/stories/229726 It's even titled "New to Night Vale? Start Here"

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You will be lost if you skip around. you will be lost anyway. Nightvale does not feel the need to explain itself, but there is a plot.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Just start at #1. But realize the tone changes from interesting world of creepy and weird to tumblr kids bed time story by #30.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

It turns back around by #60 or so. Just wait for the Dessert Bluffs to end.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I bared it through Bluffs. I mean the tone stops being HP and more like talking at a group of kids and not actually being interesting

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Like in the forest 10 episodes. Those were gold.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It got creepy again last year. Had a few moments where I felt unsettled driving home at night

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If you still like it tby then, then it's right up your alley and the rest is gold.

Welcome to Nightvale. Its a podcast and I highly recommend it.

Been in an emotionally low place lately. Had a dream where I was walking with this kind elderly lady and I had brushed against a cactus. ->

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It hurt like hell and left a ton of long spines in my shoulder. Plucking them out one by one made things worse in pain, swelling, and ->

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Frustration. The old woman stopped me finally and told me to wait till the swelling went down, that once it had, I could just brush them ->

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Off with no pain. It took a few minutes, but it worked. She then explained that the needles were like tiny inconsequential problems in life.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

If I don't angrily try to rip at them while they're still aggravating me, and instead wait till they're easily brushed off, there is less ->

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Damage to my person and heart. Woke up feeling better and it's carried over the last two days. Little old lady was super nice.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I remember my friend telling me about nightvale years ago. I think it's time I tried listening to them all again

8 years ago | Likes 61 Dislikes 1

Listen? Is it a radio station or something?

8 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

It's a wonderful podcast

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

It plays like public radio in a town full of eldritch horrors.

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

It's a podcast I believe

8 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 1

Yes. And an excellent one at that

Can you get podcasts on not-Apple devices? More importantly, where can I get these podcasts on my android phone?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I use Podkicker. Download the app, search for Welcome to Nightvale. Every episode should be there to D/L or stream.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I listen on soundcloud

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Podcasts are just episodic audio shows. You can get them on any device that gets audio. Google Play Music, and others, has it.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They are on Spotify.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They're also all available on youtube.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I use Stitcher for Night Vale (and most of my other podcasts)

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Podcasts aren't apple-only at all, and you can listen to them on computers through the podcast's website usually too.
