It’s an old line, not used much anymore. It was usually about living or weather conditions and meant that things were so bad that no living thing, human or animal, should be stuck there. So it seemed like a good way to sum up what Trump and other fascists do to a country. Make it fit for neither man or beast.

My point is, you're probably not going to have fair elections. Or, if you do, the outcome won't be respected. Everything we see now with ICE etc. will ramp up during midterms to suppress voters in blue states/districts. Or they succeed in kicking off enough violence to impose martial law and suspend elections indefinitely. Trump really liked the idea of that - considered it out loud - when Zelenskyy told Trump that Ukrainian elections won't happen for the duration of the Russian invasion.

I think this is the reason why ICE would be out in these streets brutalizing people to stop them from voting. They know they're cooked so violence is the only answer.
They tried flipping seats by re-districting and that's somewhat worked, but they've seen how much they've fucked up. Trump talked to republicans telling them they had to win else he'd get impeached. They know they're cooked, but I'm afraid we're cooked as well

Maybe, but I assume the bulk of the maga heads would have reservations about a suspension of *their* liberty to vote out their local democrats so timing is still key.

When Trump first talked COVID vaccines, they pushed back, believing their Dear Leader had fallen for sinister vaccine propaganda.
The whole Epstein thing continues to make them uncomfortable.
Despite the (deserved) snark about them ignoring the gas and grocery prices right in front of their eyes, they're not fooled. They just don't blame Trump for it like they would any Dem president.
