I‘d phrase it as „…don‘t know what either of them are“, because definitions are difficult and you don’t want to run into „You define fascism then“. There is no universally accepted definition of fascism. Academics are still debating and „It‘s only fascism if it comes from the fascist party of Italy, otherwise it‘s just sparkling militarized nationalism“ is actually a legitimate position.

It's the sort of inconsistent thinking that equates socialism with Stalinism, but then calls national healthcare or health insurance examples of socialism, and then refuses to engage with the reason the UK with its NHS isn't covered in gulags. Sometimes "socialism" is a euphemism for "brown people getting stuff". The dishonesty isn't new, it's just more extreme and blatant.

That's not true at all, they absolutely know the difference between the two. Socialism means that one person just one person that they don't like will get something that they don't think that person should like so they would rather the system where everyone gets fucked then the system where one person who they don't like might get something that they don't think they deserve. It's not a question of whether or not they do actually deserve it it's whether or not the voter thinks they do.

The communist manifesto has very little to do with Marxism, beyond being Marx's application of his theory. If you want to understand Marxism you need to read das kapital (or an exegesis; there's plenty of explanations of the book that are far more accessible than the book itself). Its kinda like watching Jurassic Park and saying you now know palaeontology and genetics.

Actually they are not even waiting. Cutting snap benefits and healthcare for millions will be felt really fucking soon regardless of who MAGA blame. Reality is coming to crash their fantasy world created by the conservative media. I hope a few people wake up as to why this is happening but I’m not holding out too much hope for peaceful resolution at this point- I haven’t given up but I am also preparing for the worst.
