Just remember 'Clipazine'.

(1/2) May FSM touch you with his noodly appendage. I scream this fact out into the world, but to no avail. Thank you.

1911 isn't the greatest handgun ever. Everyone knows it's the Colt Single-Action Army.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

What about the 30 round magazine clip in half a second?

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Ah, you're thinking of the baby killing model. It's 5000 rounds per second capacity makes it incredibly accurate when loading into the port

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

(anti gun liberal screaming intensifies)

8 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 8

HAHAHAHA! Cry some more, Gersh!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Bullet sticks

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

How many pistols used clips? Only one I can think of was the Mauser.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thank you! Nothing drive me more bananas than the lack of distinction between these! Bananas I tell you!

8 years ago | Likes 82 Dislikes 13

Heh. Banana mag. I assume that’s what you’re going for...?

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Or banana clip ...

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

I spray painted a cheap ak mag and put a produce sticker on it for the sake of the joke

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

(Left is a "Clip" or "internal magazine") (Right is a "Stipper Clip" or "quick-loader" for a magazine)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Technically they are both clips

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

A clip is just a magazine trying to pay for college

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Of you buy your ammo by the can you get a bunch of clips trying to make it through college.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A clip is just a drop top magazine.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You can thank Hollywood and so called "weapons experts" for the incorrect use of terminology

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I was honestly wondering about this earlier today. Thank you.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And I learned something today. An upvote for you!

8 years ago | Likes 217 Dislikes 6

Now you know, and knowing is half the battle!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Go Joe!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

OP image shows stripper clips, the most common kind, but the M1 Garand uses an en-bloc clip. v

8 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 1

*ping*

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I heard it

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Stripper clips sounds like someone filming your mom at work.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I'll never not love that gif

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Ahhhhhh, so that's the difference

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I'll always say clip in video games because the outrage is funny to me.

A 30 round magazine clip

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

It's one of those ghost guns that shoot a 30 magazine clip in half a second?

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Friend of my dad use to call CD’s “CD tapes”. It was an Abbott & Costello routine trying to explain Compact Disk to him.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I give up after not having anymore hair to pull out

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

In half a second.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Ban high capacity clips? Guess I’ll just load my m1 one round at a time.

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 2

You know, Tylenol did reduce its number of overdoses by switching to blister packs.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 11

But did overdoses from any other type of drug increase in that same time frame? Or any other suicide method if these are deliberate ODs

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So lazy you won't kill yourself because you don't want to pop open pills one at a time.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The more time to think the less likely you’ll do it

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well, it does give you time to really think about what you're doing.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

Where to en blocs (for a M1 Garand, for example) sit on this?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

That would just be called an "en bloc clip." Or clips. Even though they are required to keep the bullets in the mag, the gun 1/?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

has a magazine, follower, and spring to its self. They are clips which are used to load the magazine quickly by inserting the entire clip2/3

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

BUT, you can speed load the magazine with a second clip if there is a clip inside of the magazine already. 3/3

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Pretty sure you can't. It was one of the drawbacks of the Garand. OTOH, it's one of the fastest rifles to reload that you can get.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I am nearly sure you can single load up to 6+1 in the chamber, pretty slow and high risk of garand thumb. Almost better to unload and 1/?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Those are clips, which are inserted into an internal magazine.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

A difference that has never created any confusion or ambiguity. It is a distinction with neither meaning nor merit. Language is consensus.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Not when you're writing legislation.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Dont bother trying to convince people who don't already know. They've made up their minds about anything to do with guns, and won' listen.

8 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 20

Or maybe "clip" is a common colloquial term for magazine and nobody gives a shit that it's not technically correct?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Ya man i agree with you. Correct people for sure, but people are so pretentious about it.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Its a meme shut up nerd

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 6

You understand that is exactly what they say about you? "They already made their minds up about guns and wont listen." don't be dumb bro.1/?

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Refusing to talk doesn't make you look correct, it makes you look like a child who gets angry if they don't get their way, 2/?

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

On the other side, if you constantly try and teach them *NICELY,* and they refuse to listen? Then THEY look like the angry child. 3/?

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

No matter what, being nice and open will always make you look better. 4/4

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

The difference is one side argues using logic and the other side argues using emotions.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And both are at fault of never considering the other. It is way too easy to dismiss each other because of this disconnect. 1/?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nice false equivalency.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What do you mean?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not arguing against completely dropping your current arguments whatever they may be, but addressing the opposition is a huge part of 2/?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

convincing someone of something. 3/3

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

None of this matters you are a baby murderer!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You know those fast loaders for revolvers? Are those clips?

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

they're speed loaders - unless you're talkiong about half-moon clips (obsolete mostly).

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

They’re just called speed loaders usually

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

only the ones designed to make use of rimless cartridges like .45ACP or 9mm in revolvers, which stay attached to the cartridges.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes. Sometimes called ‘moon clips’ or speedloaders

8 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

moon clips and speed loaders are just as different from each other as magazines and clips are from each other

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well the halfmoon and moon are clips, speedloader is a device D:

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Speedloader. For when you want to get shot because you can't just shove the thing in the thing.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

But that thing can jam because of that thing in said thing.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sure, I guess it matters if you're firing auto ammo in a moon, or sliding in rimmed shit.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

(2/2) Why, oh why do semi-autos always have to click when empty in movies? It makes me physically ill. Too much? I don't think so.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Because having them lock open is to much effort

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A double action will click with every trigger pull, even if the magazine is empty. That only covers a part of them, though.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I think full autos clicking repeatedly with one trigger pull is worse.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

DEV: "because its empty, so the hammer falls on an empty cylinder dug" Thats not how guns work though mr dev. DEV: "Gameplay over realism"

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

if they are DA, then they will click. SA, not so much.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

DA = dual action; SA = single action

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

*double action, but I'm just being autistic.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I would say that you're just being correct.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

SA, relies on the weapon action to cock the hammer, and once it goes forward, must manually recock. DA, the trigger pull cocks the hammer

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

... so a DA trigger pull is longer and heavier, which isn't really desirable. Also, most semiautos have a last round hold open.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

thanks for explaining it better than I did.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Explaining things takes practice. Not many people get practice explaining firearms, since knowing these things is discouraged in many places

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Me, I'm old, cranky, and have 30 years experience shooting anything that goes bang, pow, blam, boom, Crack, pop, dakka, thoomp, or BOOM.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

well, I was just keeping it short and sweet. ;-)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Pedantry noted.

8 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 14

You guys need to learn the terminology of the things you want to ban.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

Basic understanding of terminology is not pedantry. Clips are also outdated. Like Pez versus a candy bar.

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 12

Wait. Are pez outdated in this scenario?

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I understand your point, but, I feel this is pretty close to the "Can I?/May I".

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 9

The problem is you can sometimes find clips for current generation guns, and definitely some older guns before total clip->magazine convert

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Try and call it pedantry when it takes 2 weeks to return a product to amazon and your own money is involved. /end

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

I suppose it is a relatively unimportant topic when considered alone. But people frequently make it important when they debate while 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

using the wrong nomenclature. People can’t accurately describe what they wish to legislate. This is a joke for those who find that funny.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

This is so annoying to talk to someone about guns and then they use the word "Clip" when it IS CLEARLY A MAG!!! *Rage mode engagued*

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

*engaged

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Its an easy mistake to make, its a common term used incorrectly.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I know, I used to do the same thing until one of my friends switched me over lol

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Do you also rage when degenerate young-uns say "phone" instead of "multimedia mobile telecommunications device"?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No, why would I rage over that?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Incorrect (it's a computer) and imprecise ("phone" means "sound"), used just for the sake of brevity. Learn the difference.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wait until you buy NERF guns that use "Clips" @op

8 years ago | Likes 131 Dislikes 0

It`s a controversial subject in the community. Most of us don`t care.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I clip my mags to the bolt. And pew pew pew.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I would buy the shit out of a nerf gun that uses stripper clips though and i would nut in my pants if they made a nerf garand or sks.

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

That... might actually work...they made some with internal magazines already, so introducing an En-block clip wouldn't be hard!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The Nerf Rival Kronos has third party speed loaders which are basically stripper clips.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Mauser C96 Broomhandle Nerf gun, with additional Stripper Clips :O

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

People have developed stripper clips for certain blasters. The difficult part is holding the darts in the clip.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Right?! Some people get pissy when you call them mags. And I’m like “...are they not?”

8 years ago | Likes 56 Dislikes 1

I see a lot of youtubers have adopted the hybrid term "Clipazine"

8 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 2

Youtubers on what topic? Are they talking about weapons, or are they just gamers or something?

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

NERF gun modders who hate that officially NERF gun magazines are called clips.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Oh... well that's stupid (the official name, and the "clipazine" name)

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

A reasonable compromise, but I can’t bring myself to say it. And it’s not like I have any pride; I’m playing with Nerf guns.

8 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 1

I've always called them Magazines

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nerf guns are amazing.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Are there / were there any common pistols that use(d) clips ?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Most do if you call a magazine a clip. And why wouldn't you, the meaning's still clear, no chance for misunderstanding and it's shorter.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Red 9, C96 and Mauser Broomhandle all used them.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No modern ones, and the only one I can think of is what SoggyWalrus mentioned

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The early pattern Mauser C96 in 7.63 Mauser was fed with stripper clips

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

the red nines were too, IIRC. Though there were some chinese knockoffs in .45ACP that used a detachable box mag. I kinda want one of those.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Except, you know, not made in China.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Neat! I’ve seen Mausers before (in media) but never noticed a clip with one. Thx!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Add some cosmetics and you get a pistol fit for Han Solo.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM TING!

8 years ago | Likes 55 Dislikes 0

I prefer Soviet era. Soviet soldiers weren't trusted enough to not lose mags. No ting.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Enbloc

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

FUCK, MY THUMB!!!!

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Man's not hot! (Never hot)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

An absolutely Garand reference

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I have a feeling you aren't getting upvotes because people don't get it, I gottya.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

But dude man. 8 rounds. The garand holds 8 rounds. He still has 3 left, what'd he rack the clip out? No ting then...

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

He held his empty clip to bang on his helmet to make the germans think he was empty. While still having three rounds remaining.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He threw and empty envoy clip at a rock so the Germans would poke there heads out thinking he was reloading

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Enbloc... damn auto correct

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

*Ting* "Jezt!" BOOM BOOM BOOM TING

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Double good!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Clips load magazines, magazines load guns.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

Since we're being pedantic: they feed chambers. The loading mechanisms load.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well clips can also load guns.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Clips always load magazines. Guns can have internal, non-detachable magazines. Magazines store cartridges for the bolt to access.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

You know what, I had a total brain fart. I completely forgot that part, sorry.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

All good!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So even for something fully internal like the Kar 98, it still counts as a magazine inside it?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes. The magazine, detachable or not, is from which the bolt feeds cartridges to the chamber. Now, something like a break-open shotgun

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

the shells are loaded directly into the chamber, but there is no other source within the gun from which they are fed directly into the chamb

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Except the Garand, which you just shove the whole damn clip in.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

AKA "en-bloc". Still internal magazine.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I know. It's one of those interesting special cases. Yanno that the M14 is actually closer to what Garand initially presented to the Army?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0
