I interpreted their statement as a cheeky "Betrayal" by trading in their US citizenship for a different one, without any kind of actual "Treason", like for example a man tearing up his country's constitution, becoming a dictator, using a Gestapo to terrorise, disappear and murder his own People, years after staging a fascist coup attempt. THAT kind of treason should be punishable. If only the People of USA would punish such a man.
