1.25lb 1.5" Sirloins

Grill marks bud. (these almost look like pork chops to me)

Decent finish..... but what I was really happy with was...

The nearly perfect uniform medium-rare finish.

That is gorgeous.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Tad over cooked.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not enough fat to meat ratio.... But cooked perfectly!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I like the cutting board but you shouldn't put raw meat on it and then place the cooked meat on it afterwards. Hope you enjoyed.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That cow must have been some kind of athlete.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It was definitely a worthy adversary.... but the war isn't over if you know what I mean.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Honestly, the leaner the steak the better to me. That looks damn good.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Same, my butcher knows what I like and cut these specifically for me.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Good man.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

@OP Next time, try a coarser grind of salt and pepper. Makes a world of difference when cooking the steaks!

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

dude, don't even start. I was kicking myself the MINUTE i put that shit on, i remember i had proper grinders with granulation adjusters too

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh man, that's harsh. I keep my pre-fine ground in the cabinet so I don't accidentally do that anymore. I've been guilty of the same thing.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

Looks a little over medium

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

the last pic was in a really weird part, the rest of it wasn't done like the bottom of the last pic

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Dem grill lines

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Had beef tongue the other day. Most tender thing you will ever eat without having to use a spoon.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Congrats on the steak

I like this cutting board!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

right! my mom gave it to me! I LOVE it!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Unless that seasoning is hiding all of the marbling, I'm disappointed in the quality of cow. Either way, you cooked it well.

9 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 12

Not really. I mean yeah he didn't cook it well done which just ruins meat. He turned the meat way too soon and has uneven cooking

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 23

I didn't say he cooked it perfectly.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

*medium well...Eh, maybe medium, hard to tell with the lighting.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 6

i can't believe people are downvoting this great pun.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

took your comment for me to get it, updooted

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

i mean it's practically a dad-joke, related to grilling something on a barbecue. how much more on-topic do they need?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Uniform medium rare? Grilled. A little less marbled than I prefer. But damnit OP. I just might not hate you. +1.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 7

I'll take it! 450 closed lid sear for 3.5 minutes on each side, then 350 for 20 minutes per side lid open.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

20 minutes per side? Wtf

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

sorry, what?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No criticism here, just a safety suggestion: plastic cutting boards for meats.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I only use plastic out of old habit, but don't really know why

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There was a time before mass production and wood was plentiful that everyone had a wood insert above a drawer, a wood cutting board/block. +

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But in the last say 20 years, someone put 2&2 together and figured out it was porous, and a breeding ground. Now, plastic being so much +

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

cheaper than in the way way back, almost everyone uses them. I don't know a home kitchen that doesn't have a wooden one somewhere.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Neat, thanks mate'

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

6/10 fat content. 10/10 grill job.

9 years ago | Likes 169 Dislikes 10

I'd say 3/10 on fat content

9 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 2

6/10 fap content?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Agreed

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nah, nice job. Lean meat is delicious when cooked properly. Don’t listen to em @OP

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

thanks duder, they were delicious!

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

5/7overall

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 4

It needed to be said. Thank you.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's actually closer to 4/5 overall

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

A perfect score!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm guessing it isn't American angus, the angus is high in fat content, most other cattle aren't

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

It said Angus on the package.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

i'm guessing @OP simply isn't ridiculously rich to be able to afford the really good cuts. cheap(er) meat cooked properly is still delicious

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm curious to what cut this is

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sirloin.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I let my butcher (who's a close personal friend) decide for me. He knows what I like and he cut these for me.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I know there are already "marbling" posts... what cut is this? Round? Not typical for grilling right? Sure it was delicious, you nailed it.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

This was a sirloin.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah, I was really close. Did you marinate it? The ligaments don't bug you? (looking for tips). Great flavor but kind of a pain i.m.o.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What I like to do is a dry rub of spices with a but of spicy pepper overnight wrapped tightly in saran wrap. Capsaicin helps break it down.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't own a grill (apartment complex) but pan sear in cast iron for a few minutes on each side, wrap in aluminium, and broil for 5-10 min

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

i get it cut same day, spice and straight to the grill. no freezing, no sauce, no marinade.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

cool. thx
